  1. Looks great but it could be kind of deceiving because of the long hair from higher up. If you could clip this up, your donor will be more clearer. I think I read you was in your early 20s, in that case it's probably too early to assess how much donor you will have. I wouldn't think too much about it just yet, I'd be more worried about the few greys already creeping up on you. On another note when first glancing at your photos, I did have flashbacks of Wayne from Auf Wierdersen Pet........... probably before your time.
  2. Going back to Rooney, at such a young age with such an aggressive balding pattern, I strongly think Rooney's plan was all wrong, it was all short termism and it's that simple. His limited donor was not utilised to it's full potential. He has an abundance of body hair so in hindsight this should have been utilised more to make up the deficit of scalp donor which itself was in mine and many others opinion likely to thin too. He probably did no research. He's a footballer after all, it's probably been years since he had to pay a bill if ever, never mind research into a hair transplant. But the flip side if he didn't do surgery - he would be bald. As it stands he has hairs for fibers to attach to and he still has the option of a further repair surgery using what little donor grafts he has left alongside beard and chest grafts. As for KO, lets just say his expectations were not met (it happens) but his options are still far better than Rooneys. There may be an underlying reason why KO's result is not as spectacular as he expected, but again this is a mitigated risk we as patients all take. As for SMP, as previously stated I think there are far better options right now.
  3. Going back to KO's result, one explanation could be that his native hair never really recovered due to shockloss. If it had, then along with the transplanted hair the effect would be expected to be better. Another explanation could be that is his native hair recovered through drugs and the grafts themselves didn't grow, I suppose the only way to know for sure is to stop the meds........risky! But I agree that KO should experiment with growing his hair longer on top, 1 - 1.5 inches is the ideal length to create the best 'illusion' (there's that magic word again) of density. Personally I would just recommend he go for another pass across his hairline, midscalp and crown, 2000-2500 grafts will make the world of difference and its a relatively straight forward surgery that shouldn't cost the earth. As for Rooney, I bet he's made up he can still appear to have a full head of hair! Also, some of you should take heart from the many patients including myself and others on this forum who have researched to a point and then 'taken the leap of faith' with a surgeon we believe in and moved upwards and onwards. I know some won't agree with that but one can only do so much research before its time to take action. You see it every day in life, the guys that research and the guys that do! I think some patients may just research themselves out and completely forget the reasons why they researched in the first place. If you are not 100% in yourself and you see countless examples of people in similar situations to yourself committing to a surgery and walking out the other side feeling brand new then why would you not want a piece of that. What are you waiting for? There's a small risk it might fail, but if you aren't prepared to take the risk then why waste time researching. Why do anything at all?
  4. For added caution you could start off with a lower more infrequent dosage and see how your body reacts to it. If all OK gradually up the dosage to the recommended 1 mg a day. Personally I only take 1 mg every 2 or 3 days and it seems to be doing its job now for a number of years. Otherwise take Melvin's good advice.
  5. I can't see there being any issue with wearing your hair like that post transplant, I suppose most guys wear it up because they now can.
  6. Looking good Seth, great to have you back.
  7. Hi Swifty, For 13 weeks your hair looks like it is progressing well. You should see a noticeable difference month by month now. The crown will as usual take longer. There is nothing to worry about. Stay positive.
  8. The pic might be a bit deceiving because alot of that is hair from the upper regions of your scalp making it difficult to actually see the donor itself. If you've had a few procedures then you'll know what I'm talking about. But if you had about 2000 grafts spare then this should have a great effect in thickening up your mid section, upper crown area shown in your earlier pics.
  9. Just move your arm down a touch or adjust your aim from the position you took the last pics. or take one with your back towards a mirror so the reflection shows your donor.
  10. Hi, You are only at 7 months so potentially depending on your speed of growth you could have up to another 5 months of growth to look forward to. Also your hair will likely take up to 18 months to mature into it's natural state unlike the wispy/wirey/haywire appearance it has now. No one ever received an end result at 7 months so you need to stop being self critical about your hair until you at least let your journey take its course. Judge it after 12 months. Be positive for now.
  11. Dear all, The following video gives a complete walk through in the footsteps of a UK patient's surgery with Dr Tejinder Bhatti at his new purpose built Darling Buds Clinic Hospital in Chandigarh, India. It explains in detail how the transplant is done and the aftercare provided. I hope it will clarify many aspects of our FUE surgery especially for all you new guys and the lurkers amongst us. A special thanks goes out to the patient who happens to be a professional barber from the UK. As always, we will be delighted to answer any questions.
  12. There may be an ever so slight recession to the hairline and a slight recession to the temple points judging from your second but last picture. If it is, then its pretty minimal over 5 years, certainly nothing to get into a panic over. Your hair is still near on perfect. I would suggest now to take pics after each couple of months and compare them to the recent ones you took. If you notice any hair loss then consider going down the medical route to slow things down.
  13. Goli, I understand your concerns, but as mentioned they are the only 2 proven meds to help retain hair and slow down the balding process. Also there are thousands of hair loss sufferers the world over taking Finasteride with no issues. I suppose if you don't try it you'll never know. And once you have lost your hair, it'll be too late to get it back.
  14. Propecia and Finasteride is the same, I think you meant Minoxidil and Finasteride. You could try using Saw Palmetto, but I used it myself and it didn't work for me. It may work for you but in the meantime if it doesn't you will continue to lose hair. Do you want to take that chance? Minoxidil and Finasteride are the only two drugs that are US FDA approved.
  15. Hi Thomas, In my opinion you should wait at least another year to see how your hair loss develops. If you had side effects from taking Finasteride then I would recommend you halve the dosage and try again. Some side effects are common in the first few weeks as your body gets used to the drug. If you still have issues then you could try taking it every other day. If you decide against taking it, then you should prepare yourself for future hairloss considering you have already receded quite heavily in the hairline and temple areas. Your midscalp and crown are also showing signs of thinning therefore without drug intervention keeping your hair will unfortunately always be an uphill struggle. So, I think you should give the Finasteride a further go. You could also try Monoxidil which helps rejuvinate the hairs in some patients. But these are the only 2 product that are proven. If you decide to go with the meds, you can assess your hair after the 6-12 month mark and if it has somewhat recovered and stabilised then you can look at having a procedure done to fill your temples and strenghen your hairline.
  16. Hi Craiga, If you select the 'CONSULT A PHYSICIAN' link above then you can view all recommended surgeons geographically. If you need any other help or advice, feel free to contact me direct. All the best in your search.
  17. Hi Hairgone, I would recommend approximately 1800 grafts to rebuild and strengthen your hairline and a further 1000 grafts to strengthen the crown. I think you could do this within your budget with a recommended doctor from this site. Feel free to get in touch.
  18. Do you have a picture of your hairline from say 5 or so years ago for comparison purposes?
  19. Thanks for the pics, it looks like ideally you will need up to 5000 grafts to cover your crown and your mid-scalp. You have extensive balding and you should consider Finasteride to help slow down or perhaps even recover somewhat from your aggressive balding. As for the 5000 grafts surgery in one day, I don't think your donor area at the back of your head will give you that much without over harvesting which will likely result in a visibly very thin donor area and likely scarring. If you have body hair (beard and chest) you should consider using this behind the hairline in the mid scalp alongside scalp grafts to compensate for the lack of scalp grafts. I would recommend you go on Finasteride for at least 6 months (up to a year) prior to any procedure. Looking at you now I would recommend a two surgery approach with upto a year between surgeries. In the first surgery you can address the frontal two thirds of your scalp using approx 2500-3000 scalp and 500 body grafts. In the second surgery you can top up the first surgery implanted area and address your crown with approximately 2000 scalp grafts subject to availability.
  20. Hi, Can you please post some photos, it will help get you a more accurate response. Do you mean 5000 hairs or grafts, again photos will help. A 5000 graft procedure will most likely be done over 2 days, a 5000 hair procedure (approx. 2500 grafts) can be done in a day. This really depends upon the skill of the surgeon and the team. Do you need to take drugs? Most doctors will recommend Finasteride and Minoxidil for at least the first 6 months. Again photo's will determine whether you should at least consider taking Finasteride for longer.
  21. Hi Jowin, Judging from your photos, you will need in the region of 2500 grafts to cover the thinning area behind your hairline. I would personally advise you to shave it all off for the procedure. It might be a real hassle trying to hide such a large implantation area with a combover and working with a blank canvas is always the surgeon's preference. You might want to consider Dr Bhatti too for your procedure, here's a few patient reviews from this site alone 30 year old Irish Man large 2 day session http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/170853-4346-fue-grafts-dr-bhatti-india.html 25 Year old Indian 1800 grafts to hairline http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/182061-my-hair-transplant-journey-dr-tejinder-bhatti-1800-grafts-7months-completed.html David - Hair Transplant Network Moderator http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178637-dr-tejinder-bhatti-2412-fue-february-23-2015-a.html 36 year old American 3750 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169005-hair-restoration-procedure-w-dr-tejinder-bhatti.html 29 year old Australian 4000 grafts (this was the story that inspired me to go to Dr Bhatti) http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/167897-hair-transplant-dr-tejinder-bhatti-darling-buds-chandigarh-india.html 27 year old German 2364 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/170355-my-experience-dr-tejinder-bhatti-2364-grafts-fue-restore-hairline.html https://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/journal.asp?CopyID=9836&WebID=2698 30 year old Indian 2500 grafts repair surgery http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171606-dr-tejinder-bhatti-2500-grafts.html 26 year old european 3011 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/175743-dr-tejinder-bhatti-3011-fue-grafts.html 26 year old Indian 3200 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/175746-dr-tejinder-bhatti-3200-fue-grafts.html 29 year old indian 3200 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/175747-dr-tejinder-bhatti-3200-fue-grafts-type-4-patient.html Seth Australian Patient 3 surgeries with Dr Bhatti http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/Sethticles/albums/4866/28695 31 year old Israeli 2485 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171738-hey-guys-i-got-help-you-so-here-i-post-my-story-dr-tejinder-bhatti.html 37 year old US man 2928 grafts to repair 2 previous sub standard surgeries http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/168567-fue-hair-transplant-dec-14-2012-dr-tejinder-bhatti-darling-buds.html 27 year old indian male http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/175847-6-months-update-dr-bhatti.html Traction Alopecia Case http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/168356-traction-alopecia-sikh-male-punjab-india.html Indian 3000 grafts part 1 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/168631-dr-bhatti-fue-hair-transplant-2-stages.html UK Guy 3000 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/HTindia/albums/1775 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/168149-caucasian-male-3000-fue-grafts.html Indian Guy 5000 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/168492-dr-bhatti-fue-body-hair-transformation.html Feel free to contact me direct if you want to add Dr Bhatti to your shortlist. 22. OK, I must be mistaken as to why you praise all other OK results but consistently knock Dr Bhatti's results when there are complete disasters posted where you never feel the need to comment. Going back to the result, it is only 8 months old and yet you'll be jumping up and down with joy if one of your favored surgeons had got such a great result after just 8 months using only 1200 grafts. Just calling a spade a spade...........
  23. Really guys, Having not seen this before it looks to me like the patient just wanted to reinforce his hairline. He has enough hair in his mid section so I would have thought it would have been too risky to implant there, better to treat with meds. He appears to have his hairline back for just 1200 grafts therefore keeping enough grafts in the bank for possible future procedures. Above all he seems to be happy enough to revisit the clinic to showcase his result, is this not what it's all about?? I really don't get how for 1200 grafts this result is not a massive success with near on all the grafts growing out. Can you guys please explain in details your thoughts, it's always good to take things on board. Chestnut, I think we had a run in a few years ago over the price of Finasteride in the UK, perhaps it's now time for you to drop your grudge!
