  1. Nanogen fibre locking spray does for me but it is expensive. It stops my hair moving even in high gusts of wind which is a great bonus.
  2. After about 2 years deliberation I have now booked it for August. As I think Spanker also said, I want to be pictured in front of that green screen 12 months after!
  3. Your hair still looks quite good but obviously the hairline has crept higher over the years. The same thing happened to me. The following aspects mostly define who is a 'good candidate'. (you don't necessarily have to meet all criteria) 1) Well-defined baldness in the frontal 1/3 of the scalp. 2) Dense donor area. 3) Complimentary hair to skin color match. 4) Slight curl or wave in the texture of the hair. 5) Over 30 years old. 6) Realistic goals and expectations. I think you should try adding minoxidil to see if that has any effect. It might not regrow much in the hairline but it will certainly help to maintain it. Agree that a small FUE might be the way to go but at 27 you would always have that risk of further progression and having to go back for further work. Trya and hold off for at least 3 more years as your hair still looks decent.
  4. Those two clinics are nothing but bad news I'm afraid. Go see one of the recommended doctors on this list: Hair Transplant Clinics in Florida
  5. Thanks for the write up. You can see from the post op photos that it is quality work.
  6. Go see a at least 3 top docs in person (even if it means booking 2 or 3 flights). I think you are in Canada so maybe Hasson & Wong and the Seager Medical Group spring to mind.
  7. Impossible to tell by pictures. Depends on the density of follicular Units Whether the FUs contain 1,2,3 or 4 hairs each How stretchy your scalp is The type of hair you have will also have a bearing as to how many grafts are needed to make it look like a full head of hair
  8. Thanks guys. I'm a bit more relaxed about it now. Keeping the scar hidden will be the main goal. I will probably see how much shock loss there is (if any) then go to a good barber and have it cut short enough to hide it.
  9. Hard to comment without clearer pictures. Agree with the other poster that we would need to see a picture of your hair grown out. I'm a big fan of Dr John Diep too. He has lots of videos on YouTube and seems like a great guy. Dr James DeYarman is another I rate highly. I wouldn't rule out FUT totally. If you have a stretchy scalp, good reaction to medications and a commitment to not shave your hair the rest of your life it might be the best option. As always it depends on all sorts of factors like family history, age etc. In terms of cost it is usually all costs associated with the surgery with Hotels and Travel the responsibility of the patient (I'm sure there are some exceptions). Out of towners are sometimes offered a discount of around $500.
  10. Ali, you're a NW5A and believe me you could still lose more hair. There are guys who eventually thin out in their donor areas too. I see you're in Canada. Go visit Hasson & Wong or the Seager Medical Group so they can take a look at your hair.
  11. There's no fixed right or wrong answer but two things come to mind: 1)Someone in their early 20s may be dissatisfied with what can be achieved by a HT. People in their 30s will be more realistic and usually more able to pay for the number of grafts they need to meet their goals. 2)Testosterone/DHT levels are highest during teens and twenties. You will probably lose most of your hair you're going to lose during this period. You could be a NW5 at 21 and a NW7 at 31! ...and in terms of emotions, loss of hair in your twenties can lead to bad decisions..
  12. Most colours are on offer and so is the locking spray. A good time to stock up.
  13. Probably 4500-5000 without touching the crown. Depending on age I would forget the crown for now and just focus for now on getting a decent front.
  14. That's a b*mmer but listen to Mickey85, he speaks sense. Hairloss is progressive so at this stage there is little point in transplanting into receeding areas that are only likely to thin out even more. My plan of action would be: 1) Investigate medical therapies. 2) Consider Nanogen/Toppik/Fibond/Dermatch to hide loss. 3) Save for a top quality HT in 9-10 years. 4) Go to the gym. 5) Research everything about HTs for at least 12 months. 6) Go and see a top hairloss doc, but only a quality one as some dubious clinics are just after your money.
  15. NYC has many docs to choose from. Too many to list but you can find them here: Hair Transplant Clinics in New York One Dr I have seen presenting quite a few examples of Asian patients is Dr John Diep. He's based in California: Dr. John Diep Hair Transplant Surgeon in Los Gatos, California
  16. Bravo. Night and Day. It looks like a completely different person.
  17. Hard to tell from the photos but trying Propecia for 6 months would be worthwhile. A clear picture of your hair grown out fully would illicit more replies.
  18. I think you should go and see a recommended hair doc as your case is quite unusal (at least to forum members). You look pretty good with a shaved head! Trust me, better than most people. Some concealers like Nanogen, Fibond or Toppik could be worth considering.
