  1. Yes, I live in Colombia, so I specifically designed this thread for Hair Transplant surgeons in Colombia. UPDATE: I spoke with Dr. Juan David Londono in MEDELLIN who appears to have a decent amount of success with hair transplants and has very good reviews. (Side Note: He also handles other plastic surgeries like most Colombian hair transplant surgeons). His secretary stated via WhatsApp that his consultations cost $50.00 USD..... I told them, that I didn't feel comfortable paying for someone that I wouldn't be sure I'd be choosing and they let me walk away without receiving a consultation. I may in the end pay $50.00 for the consultation, however it left a really bad impression for me that they were so insistent on such a high cost for a consultation and were willing to sacrifice my business over it (considering he has no reputation for HT which would justify anybody paying that).
  2. UPDATE: I just got done with a consultation with DR. HECTOR GARCIA. The cost for the consultation came out to be $20.00, however he told me to forget about it as the ATM wasn't working and they didn't accept cards. I was told during my consultation that I have very poor (looking) donor area, and that my previous surgeries with Dr. Konior likely took my best grafts. It seemed like Dr. Garcia has a bleak outlook on how successful we can be moving forward with my hair transplants. I DID APPRECIATE THE HONESTY AND A GOOD SIGN HE'S NOT JUST TRYING TO GET GET A QUICK BUCK. He suggested around 1000 grafts and then I was provided a quote of around $4,200 USD. I thought the quote had been a mistake as I know NOBODY in Colombia is paying that much money for 1000 grafts, but it was correct. I sent a message to inquire as to why I was being charged that and I was told because my donor area was difficult to extract from and was going to take careful attention.... SUMMARY: I think Dr. Garcia is likely a good surgeon, however I think he tried to give me "gringo" pricing which I didn't much appreciate as I'm Colombian and know better. STAY TUNED FOR MY OTHER CONSULTATIONS!
  3. Hi Guys! So I am a patient of Dr. Koniors and I recently moved to Medellin (I'm a dual citizen). Needless to say QUALITY is something that I don't skimp on (hence my choice in Dr. Konior). The only surgeon "close" by that has a vast amount of credibility is Dr. Nader in Mexico, however that isn't quite even in the area (or continent). There are no really solid threads on trusted FUE surgeons in Colombia so I wanted to start a conversation about who has had first hand experience with RESEARCH and RECEIVING AN ACTUAL TRANSPLANT in Colombia. After doing some research these are the names I've come up with: Bogota: Rene Rodriguez Medical - https://2rmd.com This guy has a ton of content with artists to the average joe, youtube videos, and a flawless rating in just about every social media platform. Medellin: Dr. Hector Garcia - http://implantecapilar.com.co/secciones-85-s/dr-hctor-garca.htm This surgeon appears to be very professional without a whole lot of gaudy success stories or youtube videos (there are some that offer success stories). I wish there was more evidence of success stories, as this type of surgeon who specializes in FUE and isn't real big on advertising always appeals to me. Cali: Dr. Reina - https://www.transplantesdecabellocolombia.com/calvicie-implante-capilar/ I've come across this woman in my research and she has a lot of good content with her at conferences in the United States, with some images of results on her page. I noticed she does FUT (strip) so not sure if thats a red flag or not, but she appears to be a true hair restoration specialist. Dr. Carlos Triana - https://www.crecehaircenter.com/trasplante-capilar.html This guy belongs to the American Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (is that credential enough?) that I can't say for sure. He has his own brand of hair care products "Crece" and appears to be dedicated to the craft. PLEASE KEEP THE CONVERSATION ON TOPIC AND LETS SEE IF WE CAN CONFIRM OUR GO TO HAIR TRANSPLANT SURGEON IN COLOMBIA.
  4. Well.. I guess its bad enough a problem that the risk involved is worth it. Ill take one for the team I think its a HUGE HUGE problem and if I do end up finding a solution it will be something that will make a lot of people feel more comfortable.
  5. As the title states I am spearheading an initiative to find a new solution to the easily smearable hair fibers. After reading posts of horror stories of being caught with your fibers missing in spots I thought it was time to get these guys holding onto your hair better. What do you do when you have a babe over for the night? Keep a hat on? Hope it doesn't fall off on the pillow? Walking around on eggshells is just flat out annoying. I need to have a little bit more assurance that I'm not going to look like a major a**hole if the *hit hits the fan and Im in the bush with my hair fibers(dramatic effect). But on a serious not I think the stuff could be held on better in case it gets bumped, rain, whatever. SO.... The past month i've been on hair extension forums, wig forums, even went to drag queen forums to uncover the top secrets. I admit I could have dug a little deeper but thats where Im hopping you guys come in. TRIALS: We need something that is going to have a very fine mist (so it will need to be able to get sprayed on) 1) Super Glue a. I tried this and the super glue just hardened in the tube. Wasnt able to get sprayed on. I tried purchasing a catalyst and unfortunately if I payed attention in chemistry this may of worked better for me but I tried mineral oil. No luck it compromised the super glue and it clumped in the bottle. I tried applying the glue manually to my hair but overdid it and too much came out. I made a puddle of super glue on my head. I had to cut out a chunk of my hair. HOWEVER, to date this is the best holding and natural looking solution. Think it would have been great if I could have found a way to get this stuff into a fine mist. 2) 3M Spray Adhesive Too rubbery, didnt harden well enough, and didnt dry clear. 3) Loctite 200 Spray was too direct. It didnt create a fine mist. It also wasnt hardening well enough and didnt dry clear Next on the list: Arabic Gum Aleenes All Purpose Going to start leaning towards non aeresol craft glues that may harden better and clearer. I dont think the hold is so much important as the hardness of the dry. If it drys on clear and hard and can be applied with a fine mist it will hold a reasonable amount . TRYING TO FIND A SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM. INPUT IS APPRECIATED AND I KNOW THIS SOUNDS CRAZY BUT IT NEEDS TO GET DONE.
  6. Hey matt. Noticed you went to konior for your graphs.. Likewise. Gotta get in their for round too just wanted to introduce myself. Keep up the good fight brother! haha
  7. Girls have all kinds of fake stuff on their body. But im dreading the day this happens to me and Im almost postive one day it will.. Currently looking to make a glue that holds the fibers in better just for this reason. HAHAHA. Lots of failed trials (one leading to be to cut out a patch of my hair) hahahaha but im moving forward.
  8. I'm actually not sure why I never did. For some reason it didnt seem all that functional to me. I think I was experimenting with Hair-tek and liked the fact that it lasted me a pretty long time as the stuff is expensive. I noticed that they both have the same quantity but the toppik fibers are much larger than the hair-tek. If you say the sprayer works good ill believe ya, I suppose now the question is if hair-tek lasts longer and is it a better product.
  9. I had been using toppik for a while and simply got tired of the pepper shaker motion every morning. It was a pain. I went with hair-tek because they have the sprayer and it just seemed more convenient. I noticed hair-tek doesn't look all that natural around the hairline when compared to toppik but for ease of use the difference wasnt great. Whats everyones opinion and what do you suggest as an upgrade?
  10. Yea most of the ones I have tried can withstand the gusts of wind and the occasional touching. Wondering if anybody has reached the point of a spray that can be slept in and still have the fibers attached in the morning. I think its an area that hasn't been touched yet, possibly an area that could be lucrative if played with a little. Been looking into making my own not for sale but at least to solve the problem of having to be nervous that the fibers will come out and you're left with an embarrassing bald spot.
  11. So, I have been on a search for a better hair fiber bonding spray. One that will not easily allow hair building fibers to come off if wet or with friction. I used to purchase toppiks hair building fiber spray than I realized that generic "White Rain" did a better job and costed half as much. However the problem still remained. Nobody can touch my hair without the fear it will leave a big bald spot. I couldn't find an adhesive that would bond the fibers to my hair permanently. Why should I have to put this stuff on every day when I can have something that will keep it in there even with a shampoo. So I purchased extension hair glue, to mix in with my hair spray. That was a failed mission. I believe the spray broke up the glues compound making it useless goo. I have been considering different super glues and even did some research on the ingredients that are in them. Long story short. DOES ANYBODY HAVE A SECRET RECIPE OR A SOLUTION FOR PERMANENT HAIR FIBER BONDING SPRAYS?
  12. Does anybody have any recommendations for hair transplants in the Chicago area? I want to know all i can specifically about Dr. Raymond Konior as he is my top candidate for my procedure.
