  1. Go see Dr Cam Simmons at the Seager Medical Group. A very ethical guy
  2. I guess you mean the sides of your head, i.e. above the ears. This I believe is always less dense than right at the back of the donor so I'm not surprised it is less dense than on top.
  3. Some docs may be willing to do a HT but only in very exceptional circumstances, e.g. the very negative effect this loss has on your life (I guess they may need pyschiatric reports), limited family history of hair loss, and perhaps a commitment to take Finasteride for the resto of your life. They may even want to involve family members in the consultation process. Only then I could see the possibility of 1000-1500 FUE grafts in the hairline. If I were you I would exhaust all other options first: different haircut, concealers, etc etc
  4. You might be a NW5 now but could be a NW7 in 5 years...or maybe 15 years if you take Fin(?) So the beauty is that you slow down additional loss and the need for any further procedures. The USA is expensive as far as FUE goes, but in the case of Europe I do not believe the costs of say Dr Bisanga are a great deal more than for FUT. You could get yourself a hairline with 3000 grafts, maintain the rest with fin/min, then maybe go in for a further 2500-3000 a couple of years later.
  5. You need something like 33-50% original density for it to look good. Other factors include: -Caliber of hair (thicker stranded hair is obviously best) -Curly hair (can get away with lower density) -Hair/skin colour contrast (black hair on pale skin not good) -The number of 3 and 4 hair grafts Obviously grafting 25 x 3 hair grafts gives 75 hairs per cm rather than 25 hairs if using single units. The usual estimate is to put a grid over your thin area, measure the number of sq cm and multiply by 40. That should give you a good idea of what you might need for a reasonably dense outcome.
  6. The notes I've been provided say 'every few hours'. I think the main reason is to help the scabs come off more easily. Other things not to do: No showering until 48hrs after and even then it must be very gentle at the start. No activities that cause sweating See out the full course of antibiotics
  7. Dr Paul McAndrews in Beverly Hills has a good reputation. However, I think he gets enough work not to have to worry with things like the HTN.
  8. I notice you're not on finasteride. It really is the best preventative measure out there and it would really be advisable to try it if you haven't already. Even if it is one or 2mg a week. You're definately a candidate based on a dense looking donor. You could go for something conservative like this guy: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/170283-dr-deyarman-3008-grafts-age-29-a.html or go all out with a megasession, aiming for 5-6,000 grafts in one hit. Or how about a 2-pronged attack of 6,000 FUE spread over 2 procedures, 12 months apart.
  9. I've done 12 weeks on the small dose below and I definately think my mid section has improved.
  10. You went from looking early 40s to mid 20s.
  11. Hi there, Firstly I would remove any ideas about getting a HT in 'the next few weeks'. It can be life changing surgery (GOOD or BAD) and you don't want to mess things up by rushing into surgery. You won't be able to anyway as most of the top surgeons have waiting lists of several months. The surgeon probably meant 15,000 hairs which is approximately 6,800 grafts (2.2 hairs per graft on average for most people). You should try medications to stablize your loss. If you don't the chances are you will just lose more hair behind your transplant, not necessarily because of the HT, just further genetic loss. If you can post a few pictures there are many good people who will give you there opinion.
  12. Congratulations on choosing a Hall of Famer in Dr Ron. What went wrong with the first HT? I looked at your blog at 4.5 months and it seemed to be coming on well. All the best
  13. It is dense for sure. Depends on laxity but it looks like you could have many thousands in the bank.
  14. I would prefer a doctor to do all the extractions but I could live with the placement being shared with assistants. As I'd be buying into a surgeons reputation for great results I would expect him alone to do the most technically challenging parts of the procedure. You want to know that you're getting the A team, not the B or C technician team. If a doctor uses techs then I think their resumes should be presented on their websites with number of years experience, training, results... Also, patients should always ask the question before booking and maybe even have a clause written into the contract.
  15. Thanks mate. Will keep everyone informed when it happens

  16. Unfortunately it is impossible to get 'more hair'. The number of hair follicles on your head is fixed. If balding, some will gradually shrink until the hair is virtually invisible to the eye. Some vitamins may improve the quality of your hair shafts, e.g. Biotin. However, it's unlikely to be that noticeable. There's nothing you can do unless the secret to hair cloning is discovered in the next 10 years!
  17. It all looks pretty normal and seems to have healed well. You may want to consider Rogaine to kick start growth.
  18. Good that you are keeping your chin up. Yes and there was a great example Dr Diep posted a few days ago.
  19. Man, that's really amateurish work judging by the photos. I would get on the phone to Dr Umar and Dr Diep and schedule corrective work with them. If you're willing to travel to europe then you can't go wrong with Dr Bisanga and Dr Feriduni. If it was a poor growth issue then 12 months is reasonable, but looking at those immediate post ops the denisty and alignment looks pretty terrible to me.
  20. You could dye it a lighter colour so that there is less contrast between hair and the scalp. Other than that, use Toppik, Nanogen, Caboki, Fibond or Mane concealers...which would be expensive. Try styling your hair in a different way? See what your hairdresser thinks.
  21. If I was in India I would choose Dr Radha. It looks like you got good yield. 3000 grafts was not many considering the areas you wanted to cover. Pictures aren't great but I think it looks ok and you have something to style now! Some concealers could be used to bulk it out if only for special occasions.
  22. You're 20 so I'd set aside any ideas of getting a hair transplant. If I were you I would go to see a recommended hair doctor to assess why (if at all) you are losing your hair. Maybe you just have low density, fine hair.
  23. H&W do far larger sessions than anyone else. The only 5k examples from others recently are: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169686-dr-deyarman-age-31-5022-grafts-prp.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/168802-dr-deyarman-4996-grafts-age-27-a.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169189-dr-tykocinski-%7C-1-session-megasession-%7C-5055-grafts-%7C11748-hairs-%7C-1-year.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169187-dr-tykocinski-%7C-1-session-megasession-%7C-4848-grafts-%7C-10109-hairs-%7C-2-years.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169067-dr-tykocinski-%7C-giga-session-6039-grafts-%7C-13333-hairs-%7C-2-year-1-month.html
