  1. I did a search of similar threads over the years and picked out the ones that had a fair few replies. Interesting to see how they differ: 2007 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/149816-worlds-top-hair-transplant-surgeon-please-advise.html 2008 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/144288-name-your-top-5-a.html 2009 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/135351-top-clinic-outside-us-canada.html 2011 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/159225-hair-transplant-doctor-your-top-pick.html 2012 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/166524-top-5-fue-surgeons.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/166939-who-would-u-say-top-5-hair-transplant-surgeons-globally.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/158130-fue-who-top-3-dr-north-america.html
  2. Impossible to give a top 5 unless you have examined countless results from every doctor in the world. However, the one name that always crops up as being the 'Godfather' of HTs, two words... ...Ron Shapiro.
  3. Medium brown works with my dyed hair - see my profile photos. If you have genuinely Black hair then I would go with black.
  4. SamSpade - getting near your update time!
  5. Hello mate. I'm flying out on the first sunday and having the op on the Wednesday. I'm only staying until the Friday night and landing back here on the Saturday morning. I'm using mileage points to fly back in business class for a bit more comfort and privacy! I'll need to pick up a prescription on the monday and get all my meds in advance, as well as getting in some bits and pieces for the hotel stay. The hotel I'm staying at is the one they recommend as it has a fridge in the room - ideal for ice packs, and is 5 minutes away. I'm taking 5 weeks off work. Hopefully that's enough for the redness to wear off and my hair to mask the donor area. I plan on keeping my hair longer than normal until I know how much shockloss I have to contend with before cutting it a week or so before returning to work. That's a good plan getting a terrace. Maybe buy half a dozen DVDs to watch. Your gf going might not be a bad idea to help with things.
  6. I looked at their website and there is no indication of who the Dr is and hardly any results posted. I would go to the Farjo clinic instead. They have a long waiting list and will be a bit more expensive but will guarrantee a great result.
  7. I use it in the front half of my head (about an inch from the hairline). The locking spray for this is really needed, otherwise small amounts of the fibres will fall forward throughout the day. I go to the gym having used the locking spray and never experience any noticable running, and I do sweat quite a bit! My gym is near to my home so I don't shower there - much easier to do it at home and sort my hair out after.
  8. Superb result. At this rate the Belgian Doctors may need to think about lowering their prices!!
  9. A good question. It is something you have to get straight in your own mind before committing to anything. In my own case I've lost most of my frontal 3rd, probably 70% of the middle and some at the back. I just want to get a good hairline and enjoy the rest of my 30s and hopefully 40s. I've accepted that I may need to go back and fill in these areas in 10 years time. That scenario for me is far better than shaving my head now and being miserable for the next 20 years! Roll on hair cloning...
  10. When I started out I watched a lot of the Dr video interviews on this site and on youtube. I got an idea of the Drs I thought I'd 'get on with'. That might sound a bit odd but if you like the way the Dr presents themselves you're probably more likely to have confidence in them. Perhaps Dr Alexander just isn't the right man for you. Contrast his style with Dr Edmond Griffin and it is night and day.
  11. I like John Diep in California: Dr. John Diep Hair Transplant Surgeon in Los Gatos, California He does a lot of FUE and posts results on youtube. Very informative and seems like a great guy. I've no idea what his costs are.
  12. You won't find many people agreeing. You shouldn't book a HT on the basis of a Groupon offer any more than you would a nose job or facelift.
  13. I'm investigating bandanas now! They are a bit out of fashion though
  14. Your hair is absolutely fine in my opinion. You should see how high my hairline is!
  15. Your loss is similar to mine except you have lost more in the crown. Have you tried Propecia and Rogaine? They can be very effective in preserving and sometimes regrowing hair, primarily in the crown area. Ideally you should try them for 9-12 months. They could mean that you only require say 2500 grafts now instead of 4000 in order to achieve the desired look.
  16. Thanks all. I will certainly document it with monthly updates etc!
  17. They say don't base your decisions on price but lets be relistic, not eveyone is loaded. H&W are probably nearest and would be a fine choice for 4000 grafts. If i was going to India/Asia I would look at Dr Rahda and Dr Path . I'm not sure about Bhatti.
  18. What made it a poor result? Lack of growth? Poor design? Poor density? Whoever it is should be offering to correct it for free, but if they messed up the first time then go elsewhere.
  19. Thanks my good man. It's going to be a really slow summer waiting for August!
  20. The answer....Just For Men! Afraid the Nanogen offer is long gone.
  21. Looks like I'm getting the hang of it.. Probably half the top of your head with 5k grafts. With regards the donor concerns, I'd discuss with Dr Feller/Spex.
  22. Funny you should say that as Dr Ilter's swedish assistants are pleasing on the eye!
  23. I think it might be Dr Ilter... ...maybe not anymore. He has his own clinic (just googled)
