  1. Thanks for posting. I wish a few more older guys would post to show that HTs are a long term commitment. That said, your hair doesnt look abnormal, just a bit thin....but not for much longer!
  2. Emerging Norwood 6 maybe? I always get these wrong... 2000 grafts sounds about right. You want to get a hairline back without going nuts and blowing your donor supply in one hit.
  3. Do you intend to grow out the hair? If not, have you thought about SMP? As far as buzzed looks go, you look good with it.
  4. You hit he nail on the head there. It's a lottery and the last thing you want is a patch of 1500 grafts right at the front of your head, a 5cm bald patch and then a second hairline right behind it. That will be a bad look at age 25 let alone 30! FutureHTDoc summed it up well.
  5. I know what you mean, I don't really suit baseball caps. I have a Nike Golf cap as I do play occasionally but it is in the back of the car and I've not checked how tight it is. Th Columbia thing is basically a cricket hat really. Mine is white with the black vent and I normally don't bother with the chin strap - it's not necessary. It actually suits me quite well and definately keeps the sun off.
  6. Man your hair is great, and it doesnt look like particularly high to me! Your hair is probably receeding to a mature hairline. Do you have similar hair to the rest of the family? Did they / have they lost a lot of hair? SMG would not operate on a 20 year old with minimal loss and is not on meds. Unfortunately however, there are many clinics out to make a fast buck and probably would, leaving you with potentially big regrets in 5 years time. You should look into Propecia and Regaine, understand the possible side effects, and consider getting on them as a preventative measure.
  7. I've been thinking about this lately too and even trying on a few baseball caps in shops. The one thing I do have is a Columbia Omin Shade Bora Bora Booney hat (!), which I bought in Australia a couple of years ago. Try googling to see what they look like. The fit is adjustable by a drawstring. It has the added bonus of having a meshed vent so air can get in easily. This won't be much good on the airplane back home but I'm on the lookout for a good baseball cap (my head is quite big for caps and I've never really got on with them).
  8. The medications may help. There was a guy posting last week who improved his hairline: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169934-5-month-update.html
  9. I would suggest a trip to Beligium to see the coalition Drs there. It's better that you do propose just reinforcing the frontal 3rd. However, 4000 grafts is a lot to be using up at age 26. I looked at that Bhatti result. I would say it is 'ok'. Whatever happens I hope it works out for you.
  10. Photos aren't clear but it doesn't look as bad as you think it does. You should see how bad my hair is at the front! (although I am 34) You're 20 and unlikely to be a HT candidate anyway. Best thing to do is research minoxidil and finasteride to prevent any further loss. Make yourself aware of the potential side effects and only buy them from reputable pharmacies.
  11. This is a crazy plan and you will be dissatisfied with the result. To spread 3000 grafts over such a wide area will give you no more than about 15 grafts per sq cm. Once the native hair goes it will look terrible.
  12. I just read this and was horrified. I think you need to take a step back and do more research. To lower a hairline even just 1cm is going to take close to 1500 grafts just to get an acceptable density.
  13. I don't know much about Bhatti but what i have heard has been positive. The only way to get an idea of his abilities is to research, research, research! Google, Youtube, Forums. Meet with the Dr and ask for contact numbers of his patients.
  14. I think you're between a Norwood 4A and 5A. I would consult with the Belgium Doctors - Bisanga, Feriduni, Mwamba and Devroye. Dr Hakan Doganay is the only Dr in Turkey who has been screened by this network and also comes recommended. Some people will steer you away from FUT but I would keep an open mind until a few Drs have seen you in person. If you have a good photo of your hair grown out then make sure you send that too. In the FUT/FUE debate I guess it depends how important the shaved look is to you - not much by what you said in your message above!
  15. I'm no expert but I think the main thing you don't have in your favour is fine hair. It's harder to get a dense looking result with it. You're doing the right thing to try propecia (maybe Rogaine as well?). Give it 6-9 months to take effect. With a loose scalp you may be still be able to get a decent looking front. It's just a question of how far back you can go without running out of grafts.
  16. I'd say you are a Norwood 5. You appear to meet eligibility requirements with the exception that your donor looks weak and not that dense. That means you probably have a limited number of grafts with which to meet your expectations. If you are a good responder to finasteride then less grafts may be needed to get the desired result. Have you thought about Dr Rahda and Dr Bhatti as well?
  17. Norwood 3 in my opinion. Hard to tell if you're going bald. Some people bald to a certain point and then stay there for years and years. If you're worried then go see one of the doctors on here. They can look through a lens to see what's happening. Then you can decide if you want to try minoxidil and finasteride treatments.
  18. You should go with the doctor's recommendations really. The instructions I have been sent say that Minox should be used 7 days after, once per day until the hairs start growing. A shed of transplanted or existing hair sounds normal as we all know this is what minox does initially
  19. I couldn't agree more with that sentiment. Well I've booked pretty much everything. Flights, hire car, hotel, heathrow parking etc.
  20. If you asked me a year ago I would have said Bisanga and Diep. It would be good if someone in Australia/NZ could be added as that particular continent appears to be lacking.
  21. I get the impression they really don't like working on people under 40. That's fair enough and ethical. The surgery and results are always to a top standard though, if a little conservative.
  22. Looks feasible to me. I think most docs would be willing to do 1500-2000 on a conservative hairline. They would need to see you in person to look at donor quality, hair type etc. A solid hairline and concealer use could get you through your 20s. Have you tried Regaine/Rogaine?
  23. No effect on genetic loss but can help alopecia sufferers.
  24. All you can do is continue with the meds as there is no point transplanting into that region (AKA the 'black hole' of transplantation). A few shakes of Nanogen or Toppik will hide it if you're self conscious.
