  1. Those were some awesome results. The hairline and the additional temple work go great together. Very nice hairlines. They look great.
  2. Matt, I emailed, got a response and it's booked, I'll see him Friday, May 6th. Can't wait to meet the doc and see him. Got some questions to ask and to assess my long term goal. Thanks for the help.
  3. That def makes a big difference, the temple points look great, awesome result! This is a major benefiting add on to any hair transplant.
  4. It's such a pain to apply dermatch and toppik, not to mention the fear of getting caught and other factors. Don't even know if that stuff is safe to get in the eyes or to be inhaled accidentally. I think for the long term, scalp tattoos would be the best. I think after I am done getting the most out of hair restoration procedures, I might resort to scalp tattoos to fill in the gaps and other areas. But not all scalp tattoos can create natural looks. I have researched a lot and found a company in south west Florida that is able to create probably the best scalp tattoo procedure for hair loss sufferers and their quality is unmatched. I think they are unbeatable and the tattoos look very natural. I don't think I want to rely on toppik or any other concealer for the rest of my life to fill in any gaps, especially, if there is further hair loss/thinning after all possible hair restoration procedures. It's time consuming, can get expensive in the long term, and etc. Most people will probably end up paying thousands by the time they are senior citizens using that stuff and other hair care products.
  5. Matt, this is great news that the doctor will be in the city. I reside in central New Jersey, so I am not far. I already have had an online photo consult (I believe sometime in August/September 2010) and have surgery booked with Dr. Rahal for the end of August 2011 for a 3000 graft FUE procedure. I contacted you around that time and you helped me arrange things with Adrian and the Rahal clinic. Can I meet with the doctor in person in NY for a free "in person" consult so he can see me in person and evaluate me according to my goal before my surgery in august and to discuss a few things? This is to make sure everything is on track and good to go and this will help me when I come for the procedure at the end of August. It's a fairly large procedure. So, instead of my picture only evaluation, the doctor can see me in person and recommend/assess if I may need more. I just want to make sure and it will really be comforting to see Dr. Rahal as this is my first procedure with him and my first procedure for any type of hair restoration. Please let me know. Thanks.
  6. I use 2% twice a week, but wait, I never really noticed a shed. If it does shed, is it temporary? It has prevented oil buildup / eliminated sebum, etc. I am also using Nioxin shampoo along with it. I think you can use either or, it just depends on the amount of oily hair or any scalp sensitivity. I have heard people use both on these forums.
  7. This is pretty interesting. I wonder if it can be used as a filler alternative, to darken the scalp like a permanent toppik in hair transplants. Since, some patients don't have adequate density. It can possibly be used to even fill in a strip scar or maybe even those micro mini FUE dots if any. But if this is done, does this interfere with future hair transplantation?
  8. Docs that give great service certainly deserve two thumbs up.
  9. This is awesome. A monthly progress report to see the results. The area where the strip was taken was ideal. It flows with the shape of his head in the back. Can't wait to see these results.
  10. I can understand what you are trying to do. Getting a transplant to reduce the size of the head from frontal view and sides with the temples. It definitely makes a difference with surgery. I am also getting a transplant to lower my hairline and to bring temples forward. Look at my pics. Since you have great hair characteristics, I don't even think you'll need a lot of grafts for it. And if you are doing something as small as that, you may want to consider what surgical route you'll take, FUE or STRIP. Definitely get in touch with a hair transplantation surgeon. Good luck to you.
  11. I guess it's different for different hair types. I used to wash daily, esp due to oily hair. Now, after hearing that repetitive shampooing may not be good for you, I do it about 4 times a week.
  12. From what I have read/seen/heard, lasers don't do anything except waste money. They would be the number one pick if they did. Propecia/Rogaine seemed to have that spot as producing actual results.
  13. I think the hairs don't shed unless they were not from the safe zone. I've seen some users that had transplants years ago and they still have the hairs. But this is a very good topic. Just how many people have had their results be as good as they were within 2-3 years of their surgeries?
  14. congrats, certainly a big difference before/after.
  15. I think I know what it is but I can't remember the name for it. I know a couple people on the forum had a similar concern. Can't seem to find the posts.
  16. you really do have a great head of hair. I can understand you wanting a lower hairline. You are not wanting to have a mature hairline. Why don't you get a consult? If you are not going to bald later or have baldness in your family then it may be something you can get.
  17. great coverage, good luck with everything.
  18. I think the density used is low, esp for the amount of area covered and grafts used. BUT, you may have great hair quality, so this result might come out really good. The grafts are placed in between your native hairs as well. Your hair seems to be thick on the sides. This may turn out to be a great result. Good luck!
