Hey @mustang

I've followed your comments on several different forums and I created this account to first say thanks for trying to educate people on what you found to work for you.  I see a lot of misguided people comments about your intentions but I think its pretty clear that you just care to share what is working as you know this condition consumes many people.

Second I think you're on to something good with topical DUT but wanted to share my experience and get some feedback from you.

A few things I've tried so you and others can learn from my experience;

- Minoxidil - years ago I did not notice symptoms from this but now at the age of 34 and possibly other health issues like anxiety I get extreme side effects - Within hours I get a tension headache and that lasts for about 4 days. I did extensive research on this and found its likely due to the fact that Minox is a vasodilator (similar to Viagra) which opens the potassium channels in blood veins throughout the scalp.  This is good for delivering more blood to the follicles likely but unfortunately for me this creates huge tension around my scalp which feels like my brain is wired and I can hardly sleep with this condition. So basically not an option but possibly a data point for me- maybe my scalp absorbs more Minox for whatever reason as many others don't get this

- Oral Fin - within a day or two of taking oral Fin I had extreme exhaustion and brain fog which comes coupled with major anxiety and all that. I literally began waking up at 2-3 AM with some weird brain fog and could not go back to sleep for hours. Extensive research on this for years and I found that Fin is a TERRIBLE drug. Aside from the drop in serum DHT which has many sexual functions it obliterates neurosteroids like Allopregnanolone which is key in GABA activity and neuroprotective processes in the brain. All this amounts to many short term and long term implications for the brain and am surprised many people take this drug without concern.

-Topical Fin - (Minoxidilmax) - pretty much same sides as oral Fin - terrible to say the least.

-Topical Dut - this one I got from you and this is where I wanted to get some feedback. I ordered two bottles after reading your posts- one from Minoxidilexpress Growth Labs(.5%) ( european company) and the other from Minoxidilmax(.1%). As a first experiment and dont ask why but I mixed the two and applied them together. The first time it was prior to bed and I washed in morning, the second day I applied for a few hours then washed and applied again before sleep. On the 3d day I started to notice very slight sides- my balls were aching. This is something that occurred to me on Fin as well but is not the worst of the sides because its very faint. It does however tell me that its impacting serum hormones/neurosteroids. By the 4th and 5th day I began having more severe sides and now about 1.5weeks after last application I had a day where I stayed in bed all day because I felt like shit mentally.

Now on topical Dut I think you will likely say that the Minoxidilmax is shit and non Liposomal and the Minoxidilexpress is two high of dosage and possibly non Liposomal.

Please let me know your thoughts. I was exremely excited to try this option because I felt it would be perfect for me but am now pretty down about the fact that I still experienced very bad sides.

Have you tried non Liposomal? Does it get absorbed much more systemically?

I plan on now ordering from Fueclinic based on your comments allthough I am located in US and am not sure if they deliver here.

Also based on prior comments- doesnt microneedling while taking topical defeat the purpose? Wouldnt it go systemic? I saw a comment on Strut site here saying they encourage it but it seems pretty silly to me and it just common sense that it would go 100% systemic at that point

Hey man

sorry to hear about the struggles, sounds pretty much like mine

I only take mine with trichosol 0.1% (fue clinic) once a week or twice a week

I am done with Parati

I really tried for everybody to stay away from minoxidilmax but nobody seems to listen

I’ve only been on it for 3 weeks so no change or anything to report just yet. It will likely take 6 months to notice a change, if any.

Any updates?

Also goes for @win200

Hey! Thanks for mentioning me. So far, so good--I've been using it for a few months and I'm really not losing any hair at all. I am still on Avodart 3x/week, though. I'm keeping the Avodart for now because my doctor prescribed testosterone supplementation and I don't want that to nuke my hair, but worth noting that on Avodart with no testosterone supplementation, my DHT levels are unmeasurable. They're now at 45 on testosterone even with Avodart, and I'm not losing any hair--that means that the topical is probably doing a lot of loss prevention right now.

Thanks for the update! Wonder how much is due to oral vs topical in this case.

Shame there is no studies on this.

So I ordered some oral Dutasteride from strut on Saturday and since I still had the topical Dutasteride from fue clinic unopened I figured I’d try it while waiting for the oral to come.

I apply it on Friday night and washed my hair the following morning, today when I washed my hair I had almost no shedding which was very surprising.

Is it possible that it worked that fast and if yes should I just ask strut to switch me to topical instead.

what do you guys think in terms of effectiveness topical vs oral which one is best? (I’m not talking about sides just effectiveness)

I am not on TRT

Obviously being on TRT will mitigate libido sides. If I go back on TRT my protocol will be

Oral Finasteride 0.5mg and oral Minoxidil 2.5mg daily

CB0301 7.5% daily

Topical Dutasteride 0.25% once a week or 0.1% EOD

Dutasteride Mesotherapy 0.05% every 15 days (dermapen)

Mustang - What should be the dosage of the 0.1% DUT? Just once a week?

I have been bullied to death for being an advocate of Topical Dutasteride once a week.

I am really happy to see Dr Wong making this statement.

You can get Liposomal Finasteride from Parati by the way. I had sides with Liposomal Dutasteride and I believe it enhances absorption but that is just my experience.

Would you say that topical Dutasteride blocks more scalp dht than the oral version or it’s about the same?

thanks

Probably the same but systemic reduction is 90% on oral vs 10-20% on Topical

Thank you mustang! So no point for me to add topical duta if I’m already using the oral.

May I ask you what are you using as a topical AA?

When on TRT CB0301 7.5%

Some people use oral 5 days a week and Topical twice a week

I might just do that! Can’t wait for Hasson&Wong to come up with their topical!

Thanks

No need to wait for them, plenty of good suppliers out here!

Got the one from fue-clinic, excellent product but awful customer service and over 5 weeks to receive so this one is out of the question, in the states we have strut I might just get this one.

I have no problem waiting 3 weeks to get it. It's the best compound I have tried.

Also I can't agree with you on this one. Dr Mwamba and their team are extremely warm and nice people, I had 4 surgeries with them, never had bad customer service from them.

You can get it from Parati as well!

I love Dr.Mwamba is great, such a lovely man I also had surgery with him and will go back again for sure, I wasn’t referring to him or his team at all but more the whole Dutasteride operation with Joshua.

Maybe you should ask them to ship with DHL, takes about 3 days but it's over 40 EUR

Only worth it if you are buying multiple bottles.

Parati sends with DHL to the US as well, have you asked them?
