  1. Yeah I got really lucky, especially since I got the HT before I found this forum, and it was from a chain type place.
  2. Thanks man. If I wasn’t wearing my hair long I’d probably get another HT to lower my hairline a bit, give me temple points, and add more density to my crown. But the thought of starting over and having to wait 3 years to have long hair again does not sound fun.
  3. Hit the 3 year mark. Not much to report other than my hair is longer, I’ve had no further hair loss, and still happy with the results.
  4. I got it nearly 3 years ago and a lot has changed. At the time, FUT was cheaper and allowed them to do more hair per session.
  5. I got SMP instead of a second surgery. I didn’t want to go through all that hassle again. I was never going to get full coverage from one surgery, I had too much loss. I had been on medication for years before I got the HT, so that wouldn’t have made a difference.
  6. I do have SMP there. The point was to show that if you don’t have enough hair in the area, the dots will show. You have to have enough hair so that the dots don’t show.
  7. You are correct. SMP has 2 use cases - for someone who shaved their head bald and wants to have the shaved head look, and for people with longer hair who have decent hair coverage with some thinning and they want to have the illusion of a full head of hair. Mine is the latter. Here is a pic: https://imgur.com/a/oVKVz5Z
  8. I think SMP could work for you, but only if your hair loss is stabilized. If you’re not sure if it is, I wouldn’t get SMP.
  9. It all depends on how much hair you have, and the thickness and darkness of the dots. But most likely yes it’s going to be more visible with wet hair.
  10. It works well (I had an HT then SMP to add density) but you need like 80-90% hair coverage in the area for it to look good. You have way too much loss in that area, if you got SMP you’ll just see a ton of dots.
  11. The shed lasted maybe 4-6 weeks, I can’t remember exactly. It’s really hard for me to track improvement because I’ve had an HT and SMP. My hair loss daily is still extremely minimal, like maybe 10-20 hairs. And most of that is from combing my hair because it’s long down to my shoulders and gets knotted up in the shower. The best part about switching is I no longer have greasy hair from the topical.
  12. My wife has been with me since before my HT and SMP. So in bright lighting up close if she was playing with my hair, I’m sure she could see dots. As far as the wind, I have really long hair so I spray a bit of hairspray on my crown so it doesn’t blow around. When my hair was short the wind didn’t blow it so there was no issue, although I still used hairspray to be safe.
  13. I have a very long time until my hair is white. By that time, the SMP will have faded considerably and most likely blend just fine. Worst case, I get a few laser sessions to lighten it.
  14. Dr. Waesche. I’m very happy with the results, but it’s far from a perfect HT. And had I known about this forum beforehand and did my research, I would have gone to a forum recommended surgeon instead, and likely had a better result. Even though I’m happy with my results, I wouldn’t recommend my place or doctor simply because there are so many better options out there.
  15. If you find my HT thread you’ll see I went through the same thing. Anxiety, depression, buyer’s remorse, etc. the first 6 months or so. But then once the hair started to fill in and look thick, I turned a corner. Now I couldn’t be happier that I did it. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
  16. You’re telling me that bottom picture is not a fat Robert Deniro
  17. Did you have any work done to the crown? I thought I recall you saying that was going to be a focus, but I don’t see any pictures of crown work. Regardless everything looks great and I’m so happy for you and can’t wait to see the results.
  18. You’re not any meds, of course you’re going to lose more hair in 12 years.
  19. I’m vegan and it’s had no impact on my hair loss
  20. How long has it been since the last HT? If not a long time, it could be shock loss. Also are you taking meds to stabilize your hair loss? If not then continued loss is expected. Posting pics before and after would help too.
  21. For most people, 4 months is when they start seeing noticeable growth. Yours looks phenomenal for 4 months, you’re already well ahead of the curve. On top of the that, post-op pics look fantastic, and Eugenix is one of the best clinics around. This is going to be a stellar result.
  22. SMPChat on Reddit showcases a lot of good (and bad) work. You can always go through there and look at options.
  23. I’m not a fan of theirs either. The density is too low and their hairlines are very artificial looking.
