Regular Member Carefall Posted February 19, 2019 Regular Member Share Posted February 19, 2019 Nice! I Think it looks really good and the growth hasn´t even started yet. Senior Member JustJax Posted February 19, 2019 Senior Member Share Posted February 19, 2019 Been meaning to post for ages .. looks amazing and I think the back/donor area is totally fine and looking forward to seeing your growth over the next few months too. 👍 BTW, really encouraged to hear that this 2nd HT experience has been much easier for you. I've been discussing a small 2nd procedure with them but I've been half put off as it was both physically and mentally draining for me the first time (doesn't help that I'm quite an anxious person), but your experience is motivating me to just do it. Thanks Jax. It really was night and day between the first and second procedure in terms of impact and recovery. If you think a little touch up would be of benefit then I'd go for it. Senior Member DEB1982 Posted March 18, 2019 Author Senior Member Share Posted March 18, 2019 3 Months Post Op Always a nice stage to get too as my hair is back to pre-transplant thickness and also to a length where I can start to style it a little. I have also started to feel some itching / tingling in the recipient which is a sure sign that hairs are beginning to break through. I've also had random spots come and go just like last time. It's going to be much harder to judge this time round as no new clearly defined hairline to watch grow, it's all about the density. I can't see too many new sprouts but it is very early days. As you can see from the pictures I've had the donor shaved at the weekend to a 0.5 grade and you can see a little scarring at the back of my head. Nobody ever notices, it would only be people who knew what they were looking for. Hopefully when I report back in another month there will be lots of new hairs coming through. I contacted the clinic last month to inquire how many grafts I had left in the tank and they estimated about 2000. As much as I would like small temple points, I'm best served holding on these for any potential future loss. Senior Member CosmoKramer Posted March 18, 2019 Senior Member Share Posted March 18, 2019 Very nice! Looks like you did not suffer any bad shock loss to the previous ht grafts they have grown back nicely and donor looks good for such a short cut. 👍🏻

Senior Member DEB1982 Posted April 18, 2019 Author Senior Member Share Posted April 18, 2019 4 Month Post Op Not a huge amount to report. My hair is back to where it was prior to the second transplant in terms of density although I still think the donor looks a little patchy if I let it grow out a bit. I haven't seen much growth yet but I have been told by the clinic that it's harder to judge when you transplant around existing hairs and that second transplants can grow in a little slower. I can see a few new hairs and some that are very translucent as well so I'm sure something is happening. The crown looks like it's filling in nicely but not seeing much extra density at the front. I'm very early days though so not worried at this point. Will update at 5 months. I've attached photos under different lighting conditions. Senior Member DEB1982 Posted May 3, 2019 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 3, 2019 Quick up close shot at 4.5 months which really shows all the new hairs that are breaking through now. Can’t wait to see what the hair line looks like when these all grow through. It’s very difficult to notice new growth when it is implanted within an existing hair line. I haven’t notice any visual changes to my appearance yet so at least I know things are happening. You have more hair than I had at 18 It’s certainly not hair greed. My vertex needed concealer prior to the second procedure so it wasn’t see through and my hair line wasn’t strong enough to brush backwards. Even after this procedure I won’t have the thickness I once had but I’m just hoping that I will have enough to give me the illusion of density I require to no longer need to use concealer. When I allow it to grow a few weeks it looks much better. So I have that option. For my next update i’ll leave it a while so you guys can see. Certainly not planning any more surgeries in the next ten years though. Unless cloning becomes a reality. 😉 First Transplant: 5000 FUE grafts with Dr Koray Erdogan ASMED, December 2016 First Hair Transplant link: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185564-5000-grafts-fue-13th-14th-december-asmed-dr-erdogan.html Hair loss regime Propecia 1mg daily Saw Palmetto 450mg daily Biotin 1000ug daily MSM 1500mg daily Pumpkin Seed Oil 1000mg daily 1% Nizoral shampoo weekly Lasercomb x 3 weekly
Senior Member DEB1982 Posted May 18, 2019 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 18, 2019 I know Asmed are getting a lot of stick for hairline work at the minute and having seen some of the other posts I agree some look below expectation but I just wanted to say that I’m already over the moon with my second pass. This is my hairline now and I’m only at 5 months. Appreciate it’s taken me two passes to get here though. On a separate note if I part my hair in the right way then I look like I have bare patches. It’s just the way things are if you had a large amount of loss. It’s an illusion of density so I grow my hair longer and push it back. Not saying some of the result aren’t below expectation but I do think people need to be realistic as well going in. The expectation is that people are going to come out with the hair they had prior to any loss. This just isn’t the case. Will post my 5 month photos tomorrow. 1 First Transplant: 5000 FUE grafts with Dr Koray Erdogan ASMED, December 2016 First Hair Transplant link: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185564-5000-grafts-fue-13th-14th-december-asmed-dr-erdogan.html Hair loss regime Propecia 1mg daily Saw Palmetto 450mg daily Biotin 1000ug daily MSM 1500mg daily Pumpkin Seed Oil 1000mg daily 1% Nizoral shampoo weekly Lasercomb x 3 weekly
Senior Member CosmoKramer Posted May 18, 2019 Senior Member Share Posted May 18, 2019 Hair and progress looks great, DEBS, much improved density. I totally agree with your comments on needing two passes to get satisfying results especially for guys with higher Norwoods, it’s just the reality of it. If I part my transplanted hair in certain ways it too can look undesirable, until they figure out graft cloning for an “unlimited” supply it’s just an illusion, but saying that i don’t want to take away or brush off the concerns of the guys that are going through a tough spot unhappy with their progress and growth, obviously that has to be seriously addressed, it bums me out when I see the other ASMED guys stressed and unhappy with their results and I really hope it improves for them. Senior Member DEB1982 Posted May 20, 2019 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 20, 2019 (edited) 5 Months Post Op Still improving. Can now see lots more small hairs and black dots appearing under the skin so certain there is lots more to come. It has been a slower process this time but from research I’ve done this seems to be because of previous scar tissue. With a little fibre use my hairline is now my dream hairline. Hoping over the next 6 months it will get to the point where I don’t need to use any. The crown is also filling in now nicely as well. Looking forward to seeing what the next few months bring. I personally think the donor looks fine as well. Had it shaved this weekend to a 0.5 grade and looks good with hardly any scarring visible. Pictures are with wet hair, dry hair and then I’ve done close ups of both crown and hairline so you can see the improvement and new hairs. I think it’s safe to say I shouldn’t need another pass for as long as finasteride continues to serve me well. Senior Member DEB1982 Posted June 28, 2019 Author Senior Member Share Posted June 28, 2019 6 Months Post Op Not much to say. Hairline is much better and hopefully it will improve a little more as it matures. Looking back at my first procedure my hairline was really thin and sparse at 6 months and then really thickened up by month 9 so hopefully this will be the case again. Will update again at 7 months. Senior Member DEB1982 Posted July 13, 2019 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 13, 2019 Today is a good day! 6 and a half months and my hairline is really maturing and looks so natural now. This is my hair brushed back with gel in it and I couldn’t be any happier with how it’s turning out. No fibres in it whatsoever. This is where I wanted to get too. Can’t even put into words how happy I am with how it has turned out.
