harisub Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Hello everyone, I just got a FUE transplant done a couple of days ago. I had mulled long about whether getting this done was worth it and if the timing was right. I finally decided to pull the trigger this week. I got about 3500 grafts each day for two days. I was a Norwood 4 when I went in for the procedure. I got it done with my cousin who is a hair surgeon who doesn’t wanna be revealed yet on this forum Asking your humble opinion on what you think based on the pictures and words of advice would appreciated , cheers! The first two pictures are pre HT and the second two days post
Senior Member jjsrader Posted December 30, 2017 Senior Member Posted December 30, 2017 Congrats! You just blew out 80% of your donor in one fell swoop. Having family do your plastic surgery is also great judgement! Oh boy...
harisub Posted December 31, 2017 Author Posted December 31, 2017 Thanks jjsraider! Not sure if I separated out all the sarcasm but I hope I did haha I do realize it was a huge chunk to take but that’s what I went with ! What do you think of the placement of the follicles?
Senior Member Curious Posted December 31, 2017 Senior Member Posted December 31, 2017 That’s an awful lot of grafts by FUE per day.
Senior Member Louisjams Posted December 31, 2017 Senior Member Posted December 31, 2017 Keep us posted! Congrats!
harisub Posted January 7, 2018 Author Posted January 7, 2018 Here’s a update after ten days - most of the scabs on the donor area have started falling off. Swelling has gone on the forehead. There is some numbness in the head, which I expect will persist a bit longer. The donor area seems to be healing well. The recipient area is still sensitive when I use the shampoo. Pics attached. Let me know what you guys think.
harisub Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 18 day update Almost all of the scabs in the transplanted area have fallen off. A lot of the transplanted hair has fallen off too. Is this normal? I’m still massaging the area recipient area slowly with shampoo. My doctor has advised me to do this for a week more.
Bill - Seemiller Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Hairisub, Congratulations on your recent hair transplant. So family did your hair restoration procedure. So who is it? Is it someone recommended here? If not, perhaps he/she should be. I look forward to following your progress. Best wishes, Bill
Regular Member jttx85 Posted January 16, 2018 Regular Member Posted January 16, 2018 Holy crap, 7000 grafts by FUE in one surgery?! And by a family doctor?! If this turns out well (and I hope it does!) for you in a year, your cousin will be banking because of this forum:)
Senior Member jimbrann Posted January 16, 2018 Senior Member Posted January 16, 2018 Tbf it's looking on track. I'd also be curious to see your final results months later.
harisub Posted January 29, 2018 Author Posted January 29, 2018 Thanks for the encouragement jimbrann, jttx85, and Bill. Means a lot! Here is my one month update - all scabs are gone. Most of the transplanted hair has fallen off. Some more continue to fall off every day. Guess it’s all in to the “ugly duckling “ phase now! Here I attach a picture taken today along with a picture pre-op. The first picture if pre-op and the second is right now.
harisub Posted March 26, 2018 Author Posted March 26, 2018 3 month update - peak ugly duckling phase haha! Lost all of the transplanted hair. Been shampooing and taking fin everyday and started min too. Hoping th shedding is over and I can start to see some growth
Senior Member jcs87 Posted March 29, 2018 Senior Member Posted March 29, 2018 Can you post some clearer photos of your donor zone (and from different angles.) Looks pretty see-through, concerned that the 7k FUE extraction pattern was too aggressive... Also, what are the details of your cousin/doc? How many years experience, How many FUE procedures have they performed, are they IAHRS member, etc?

harisub Posted May 30, 2018 Author Posted May 30, 2018 5 month update. Hopefully i can see some consistent growth is in line:) Thinking of growing out hair next couple of months,
Bill - Seemiller Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Wow your 5 month update looks like a full head of hair. You must be very pleased so far especially knowing you have more thickness and growth to come as well. You should be able to style your hair short or long any way you want. Best wishes, Bill
harisub Posted July 26, 2018 Author Posted July 26, 2018 (edited) Almost 7 month update - trying to let the top of my hair grow out for the last couple of months, just to see how much density I can get. What do you guys think of my results this far? Appreciate your thoughts! Edited July 27, 2018 by harisub
Senior Member forgotpassword Posted July 26, 2018 Senior Member Posted July 26, 2018 can you post some pics from other angles to get a better idea of the growth? July 2017 - Dr Cooley - 2575 grafts
Senior Member forgotpassword Posted July 26, 2018 Senior Member Posted July 26, 2018 you're only 7 months in; give it another few months. do you have any before pictures with hair at the same length to do a side by side comparison? July 2017 - Dr Cooley - 2575 grafts
Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted July 26, 2018 Administrators Posted July 26, 2018 The results look very good, so you mind posting some pictures of your donor area, 7,000 grafts in one sitting seems like a record for FUE. Warm regards- Melvin Quote I was just an inch away from booking a a hairmill based on google reviews before i stumbled upon this goldmine of a forum. harisub Posted July 27, 2018 Author Posted July 27, 2018 Updated my post with more pictures per Your suggestions
Pete-from-Farjo Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 You're certainly had good growth at seven months with still more to come, but as others have said, the donor area looks concerning. Hopefully it doesn't look as noticeable in person as the pics suggest. How do you feel about it? Senior Member Sean Posted July 29, 2018 Senior Member Posted July 29, 2018 Granted donor may look concerning, but still, for 7000 grafts there has been a very distinct change (in a positive way) to the recipient zone. In fact, it is more impressive in yield vs results on some folks that went to known docs with similar number of grafts in the recipient zone. This doctor is not even known online, but maybe should consider paying membership and getting on the forum lists. Some organizations are too costly for docs that may work at very low rates and those that do one patient a day. This is based on economies of scale in their own prospective countries. However, I am sure some forums account for reasonable rates and varying prices based on these constraints. Now, the donor part, lets see how it looks at 12 month mark. Maybe in this case, a little smp here and there may go a long way if there is continued density loss. One thing is for sure, at least he can shave his head and still look completely normal. Not a lot of folks can say that.
Senior Member Sean Posted July 29, 2018 Senior Member Posted July 29, 2018 Harisub yaar, have you spoken to your doc about any concealers such as dermatch? I wouldn’t use any until your entire area is fullly healed and matured. Are you in any medications like rogaine or finasteride? Please keep us posted.
