  1. congrats on joining the "Cool" club Because of the procedure being FUT I imagine the coverage/density will be good to keep your hair at a medium length? Are you on any preventative medication? Worst case right now is to stress yourself out; it's a journey so just take it one day at a time and focus on healing
  2. if you're feeling a positive change then that's what matters; happy to hear things are going well. ref the 2nd pic: how does your hair look when it's dry? I received my package a few days ago and have just started using the xyon dutasteride; starting oral minoxidil next week
  3. @Shaheer pls clarify; was your initial procedure done by a tech or was the repair done by a tech?
  4. definitely some positive difference; what does your hair look like when it's dry?
  5. Attached pics of how my hair looks 6 years on; please keep in mind I was diagnosed with crohn's disease 2.5 years ago so for that time frame I've been on remicade infusions every 8 weeks My crown was untouched back in 2017 ; I'm not currently on any hairloss prevention medication and you can see in bad lighting I'm definitely going to be in a fight Shoutout to @UKLad81for suggesting I post more images even at the detriment of my confidence!
  6. @CatInTheHat Hey man; haven't updated primarily because I've been focusing on my health though I will say over the last few weeks I've been tempted to reach out to Lollie and Dr Cooley to see if I would even qualify as a candidate for round 2. Not on any hair meds; I'm on some major medication for my Crohn's which I'm sure plays an affect with my hair. Until I got sick 30 months ago my hair was in great shape; I feel my hairline could use a lil boost as well as my crown. Over the past year I've been seeing a therapist for other issues and he was surprised when I mentioned my insecurity about my hair.. it's always in the eyes of the beholder I don't regret having my FUT done back in 2017; if anything I keep my hair short now so I have to limit how short the barber uses the clippers on my donor area to avoid seeing the scar. If I were to go for round 2 then I would be interested in covering that up so I can go shorter if need be
  7. The 1st pic took me back.. very happy to have what I currently have.. @HairCenter is worth checking out for anyone considering work done
  8. I'm about 18 days from marking 4 years since my procedure with Dr Cooley. I mentioned in a different post that the past few months I've had some health issues; I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease which has resulted me in taking medications via infusions every few weeks and also had surgery about 2 months ago. That along with steroids and antibiotics made me feel a bit insecure about my hair so I've cut it shorter than usual. Looking at other posters does result in hair envy; sometimes I think about adding density to my hairline; closing out my temples etc etc.. I'm happy with what I have and hair greed can lead me on a path which I don't need right now. My crown has thinned ( I am unable to take meds) so who knows, maybe I'll revisit it down the road when my health has improved. Speaking of cutting my hair short, I went to the barber yesterday and it looks like they went a bit shorter in the back than usual so it's been my first time viewing the scar; so for the next few weeks will be wearing a hat when I go outside; I don't think it's too noticeable but my wife saw it right away. Regarding these pictures, apologies for the quality; this is my bed hair and the guest bathroom mirror hasn't been cleaned but hopefully you can see how everything looks 4 years out
  9. who was the doctor? in my eyes there are some areas that haven't been addressed; what was the pre-surgery plan?
  10. that length looks really good; what did your hair look like before your 1st procedure?
  11. Thank you @SadMan2021; you're probably right. I haven't been able to find too much info online which is why I reached out on this forum. I ran a quick search and the only things I could find are I'll probably reach out Dr Cooley's clinic to see what their thoughts are @Melvin-Moderator are you able to amend the topic to : Crohn's - how will it affect a procedure from a few years ago/future procedure Thanks in advance
  12. Ask to be on the waiting list in case someone cancels; it's worth waiting for the doctor/clinic who you feel will give you the best result but also provide you with the best care...this is surgery after all
  13. Hi Everyone I'm looking for advice from others who have gone through what I currently am/any Doctors who have experience with patients who may have this Backstory: back in 2017 had a FUT procedure with Dr Cooley; very happy with how everything went(I believe there's a link in my profile on my procedure with Dr C). Three months ago I had to be admitted to the ER where I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. From Feb-April I was taking prednisone daily as well as anti biotics through an IV. Since my initial ER visit I've had a colonoscopy, another ER visit and a surgery last month where they did a small bowel resection. Thankfully all went well but I'm going to be on some serious medication for the foreseeable future. I've been on an infusion medication called Remicade (you sit in a room with an iv hooked in to your arm for a few hours). Took it 2x in March 2 weeks apart, once in April and once in May (4 weeks apart). I've now 'graduated' to where I now take it every 8 weeks. Maybe it's because of all the physical/mental stress I've been through but I believe that Remicade has not done my hair any wonders; it doesn't feel as thick as it used to and I know it's thinned some Right now my priority is my health but I'm just curious to know have any others in the forum had experience with Remicade/Crohn's- does it affect one's hair or is it my imagination? the only idea I have to tackle this (if indeed Remicade is causing the thinning) is to cut my hair short and deal with it that way. I'm nearly 40 and seeing guys my age have recent fantastic results has caused hair envy but with Crohn's I'm not even sure if another procedure down the road is even an option
  14. Two who have definitely had work done: Shark tank's Robert Herjavec; if you look at the first season and seasons after he's had work done in stages Timothy Olyphant; if you compare his hair from Gone in 60 secs/Girl next door to his last few appearances on Conan; it looks magical now
  15. sorry I'm a lil confused; the first post states May 2020 was the procedure but 1 year pics weren't shared; safe to assume procedure was 2 weeks ago?
