Raymond Konior, MD - Frontal Hairline Restoration with 2953 Grafts

Recommended Posts

This is a 27 year old patient who desired high density frontal hairline restoration. Examination revealed miniaturization limited to the frontal hairline region. He underwent a single dense-pack session of 2953 grafts to restore his recessed frontal hairline. Postoperative photos were taken one year after surgery. Representative photos include a one-week postoperative view that highlights his graft placement.

Excellent as usual.

In my opinion, I think you are one of the best surgeons around Dr Konior.

2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK.

Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.

This is nice work. I am sure he is a happy guy. Is the temple work done at a lower density for softness intentional?

This is exceptional, dense and natural, beatiful result, the patient must be delighted. Is there any way of predicting the pattern of future loss and thus when/if he will need to touch this up? i.e, was there any miniaturisation occuring behind the transplanted areas or in the temples. Obviously he has plenty left in the bank whatever happens, im just curious to know if there are any tell tale signs of what the future may bring

RichFrog

He had an average hair caliber and the graft density was approximately 50 grafts per square centimeter.

Spanker

The temple density is lower to keep a soft transitional appearance. Although I do not think his pattern will advance to any significant degree, there is no way to be absolutely certain. Grafting with too high a density could then lead to a leading zone of too dense hair.

ManinSpace

His examination revealed a very isolated frontal thinning with no evidence of miniaturization in the crown or midscalp. Although this is not a guarantee against the future appearance of miniaturization, his history and examination were very encouraging to permit the restoration that was implemented.

Thanks to everyone for their kind works.

This is a 7 year follow-up report on my patient who recently visited the office for a scalp exam and to discuss his overall hair progress. His original frontal restoration consisted of 2953 grafts (see beginning of thread). Patients often ask about the longevity of hair restoration and the role of finasteride as a complement to the restoration process. The patient has been compliant with the use of finasteride over the years and this appears to have held much of his miniaturization in check. This was confirmed with high power loupe examination of his donor zone, graft zone and the surrounding scalp. Several part views along the hairline are presented here which demonstrate good preservation of density in the graft zone and surrounding areas.

Having a hair restoration procedure with Dr. Konior in Chicago plus being able to stay on Fin long term (if you can handle the sides) are the best thing anyone in the world can do for their hair.

Amazing long-term results!

Hope he was rejected for another procedure.. lol

Looking back, quite interesting how the temple corners softened over time. Shows the merits of giving it more than just a year to mature.

4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013

1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018

763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020

Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day
