    Hard to say with the pics posted but 1000 front third and 600 mid is how I would deploy them.

    Many are lucky to get 8000 lifetime grafts total so make sure you know your total supply. 9000 is on the high end.

    I just had this done and I swear even by the closest examination, the dots are so hard to see. It's like they make a density impact without even being there.

    Not to take away from the result but the reality is that he had a ton of hair (Relatively speaking) pre op. With that many grafts, this is to be expected.

    Went back to SMP Looks for another 1.5 passes to finish it off which makes that a total of 4.5 passes. Very happy with it. Going in over the next week or two for final pictures and "Hairthere" will post before and after pics at that time.

    I think the coverage is decent. The issue is that the hair is so short, the layering effect is not happening. If he grew it longer, it would be a totally different result.

    Classic Bernstein. I can see not wanting to take 5000 from the donor in one go but 2 procedures to cover 3000 grafts is just inefficient and not in a patients best interest IMHO. Unless the donor supply is that limited which it usually is not.

    Usually if you go with that doc, the consult fee goes toward the cost of the procedure. I still think it's BS UNLESS the consult includes some high level scalp examination and truly takes a full educational hour.

    Starr - I am just trying to get a sense for how large you thinning crown area is. It does not look terribly bad in your Avatar. I think with 2500 grafts from a good doc like Rahal, and proper styling with some SMP, you can get a good overall look going. My crown as I told you still has an empty space of about 2"*3" but with SMP and proper styling, you would never know it. I just think your crown is not as far gone as you may think as long as grafts are strategically placed and you style it right. SMP would be a bonus.

    I've seen some really nice shaved examples at SMP looks so I would not count them out of consideration.

    My best advice would be to make sure he gives you a good estimate on your lifetime grafts available so you can plan accordingly. Too many people forget to ask this. Great doc, your in great hands. Good luck!!
