  1. Doubt it. I am not going to chase my hairline with the limited amount of donor hair.. If there is a "cure" then I may opt for that, but I am not about to spend an infinite amount of money to have sub par overall coverage from an X amount of donor hair.
  2. It is in the eye of the beholder and for me, my age is the reason why I wanted to get it done.... If I was in my forties and started to recede, I honestly would not do anything. Being younger, I want to enjoy my "younger" days looking the way I feel. If my recession progress in a few years, so be it... I feel with the rate of my recession, I will be able to enjoy the new hairline for up to, and hopefully at least 10 years... If that happens, I will be very happy. Only time will tell. If my hair starts to recede at the rate it has been for the last 7 years, I should be in a good place... If it has or does slow down, even better...
  3. I can't believe this thread is still open.. And I thought the FUE vs FUT thread was annoying.
  4. It seems like it's been longer than three months as the wait is excruciating! lol.... But so far so good. LOTS of fine hairs sprouting, and a good number of hairs are thickening, as you can see. I have not cut the top since the two month post, but have been getting weekly cleanups on the sides and backs. The pictures are immediately after I had my sides/back cut to a 1-1.5 fade. I can't wait until the top grows out long enough to style.. That's what happens with coarse Asian hair.. you can't have it too short or it looks like a chia pet! Pretty excited to see the changes in the next month alone.
  5. Before you do any of what darling locks suggested, go see your GP to see what the issue is... If it is a bacterial infection, antibiotics should do the trick.. I would not use Nizoral just yet as you don't know what the cause of the inflammation and red dots are yet.
  6. I would stay away from any meds unless approved by your Dr. I know the only pain killer I was allowed to take was Tylenol as the others thin the blood. As for ice packs, be sure NOT to place it on your recipient sites... Aloe vera, make sure you get one that is 95% or higher.. Most out there have a lot of additives. Best would be to get a plant and use it direct.
  7. If you go in for any kind of surgery, you cannot go in eyes shut.. and if you did, it is your own fault. I don't think anyone needs to be told that their hairloss will keep progressing in the future, after the HT, unless they are a slick NW6-7.. If you are a NW 2+ it is common sense that your hair loss will keep going, some faster than others. If your primary complaint is that you weren't told that, give your head a shake.
  8. late 30s.. most would die for your pre op hairline.... hope the results are amazing but imo, I think you jumped the gun a bit soon seeing the hairline you had was very very good for someone in their late 30s.. the new hairline looks very juvenile. it looks good, don't get me wrong, but maybe not age appropriate?
  9. let it begin... Colorado Surgical Center & Hair Institute - Cosmetic Surgeons - 9218 Kimmer Dr - Lone Tree, CO, United States - Reviews - Photos - Yelp looking at their site, they seem to advertise modern FUE and FUT techniques... something seems fishy with this post...
  10. Just curious.. you live in LA.. of all the places in the states, why did you choose this place?
  11. So you have a pictures of TWO hairs... POSSIBLY grafts on the top of your head.. out of a possible 2500, and you are claiming many re wasted? I think patients of HT procedures are too quick on the trigger to blame the Dr regarding their future hair loss. It is up to the patient themselves to do their part in researching HT transplants. With the internet these days, there isn't anything you cannot find online. Surely, you had noticed your diffused thinning prior to your HT? You went in wanting your hairline reconstructed. That is what you got. With respect to the yield, that is yet to be shown whether it is a success or not. The donor looks fine to me. As for the further hairloss, that is on you and no one else to blame.
  12. the good thing about fue is that you can hide the scars pretty easily via SMP.. with FUT, SMP will never completely camouflage the linear scar.
  13. If you are having a few drinks on occasion, it doesn't really constitute as "large amounts".
  14. I personally would not until you hit your 30s and you can see where your hair is at that time... After a few years of being on meds to see if your hair loss has truly halted.
  15. I love getting my hair cut/fade. Cant wait until my transplanted hairs start to thicken up so I can grow it out and style my hair again
  16. You have already made up your mind and are looking for just one person to tell you to get another HT...
  17. Well, two days shy... but oh well... As you can see, there is some action going on.. There are tons of tiny fine hairs in the recipient hair sprouting, and also some denser hairs.. Not sure if they are the native hairs or the transplanted hairs that survived. As you can see where it is circled red, that whole area is transplanted and all survived without shedding. Anyways, not too too much to show in terms of change, but it does look like things are starting to pickup.
  18. hair greed . plain and simple.. leave it or you will risk depleting donor hair. It looks really good IMO. The wet pics are deceiving as all hair looks see through when wet. No one should style their hair wet like that anyways. Blow dry and a bit of quality product like American Crew etc.
  19. with a grade three, your hair is still relatively long.. I don't think SMP would look that good with a grade three, IMO.
  20. Nothing you can really do about it now but to hope damage wasn't done. I still don't understand why you risked it.
  21. you're 5 weeks out.. take a deep breath and relax! I am 6 weeks out and still have pinkness, and some dimpling (which looks more like larger pores), and the skin isn't the same texture as the rest of my scalp/face. You seem to have forgotten that approx a month ago, you went through SURGERY. Even road rash scrapes to our skin won't heal back to 100% in a month.
  22. Because no one person would require the same amount of grafts to go down a NW... Hair quality is a big one, along with whether someone has predominantly 1s or 2+ follicular groups.
  23. It will be hard to conceal it completely.. I was back to work 3 weeks after and it was still a bit red and I don't have that fair skin.. I am about 6 weeks out now and its still slightly pink.. I use a bit of powder makeup for the first 2 weeks back to work but stopped now.. It is only really pink after I get out of the shower but settles down to a very very faint pink now... People probably will only notice or say something the first time they see you.. If you say something like its sun burn from wearing a tennis/golf visor they will forget about it and go on with their life.
  24. the bulb means nothing. If you didn't bleed, you didn't lose a graft. Shed hairs contain bulbs as well, it doesn't mean you lost grafts. The cells that generate the hairs remain.
