  1. @paleocapa89 - You didn't ruin my happiness at all mate. I was pretty satisfied with how the micro motor machine was a better decision than the traditional punching out the donor hair. The comment about the brochure, what are you? ..a trophy winner critic? It was a subjective description and I am entitled to describe how I felt about the experience. On the other hand I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad one (after reading some of your own thread). Anyway, I hope everything works out for you and that the HT proves to be a success. Peace brother.
  2. Hey people, Thank you for taking the time to read my story as well as the feedback. I appreciate the compliments around my pre op hair, very kind of you all. I'm going to have to agree with DAVEY. If a certain hairline is attainable from sufficient donor , age appropriate becomes irrelevant in my opinion. Like DAVEY mentioned, famous faces over 30/40s have perfect hairline. Let's not forget Brad Pitt of course I will defo update you all with new pics as time goes by. B-)
  3. Dear folks, I want to share my story with you all. It all began with noticing slight hair loss around my temple area a few years ago. I'm in my late 30's, have a very healthy lifestyle, eat good food, ample amount of sport and gym work. Living in London, UK can be ultra stressful and I reckon that contributed as well perhaps a genetic trend to the receding hairline. I always had brilliant hair since a child. People always commented on how good my hair is. In addition, how thick it was to feel in texture. I took great care of my hair, going to my stylist, using good products for hair (no gel). In the last year or so, I noticed that my temple areas started to recede quite drastically in my opinion. The front hairline went a cm back also. This freaked me out a little and was slightly anxious as having full length of hair to me is very important. Thankfully, I have a great creative instinct and used it to the advantage to the extent to get great haircuts and styling. People would never tell that I was receding a little. I managed to pull it off even till the day of my surgery, which I will come to describe the experience soon. In the last few months, my stylist started cutting my hair from the front with slight hesitation. I knew something was up and although my stylist didn't mention anything, I knew what was going through her mind. Subsequently, she cut my hair leaving the sides a bit longer and I decided to ignore it until a few cuts/months later. I asked her to cut my sides as it looked odd, she hesitated and with empathy, she said, I had to do leave it longer on the sides because the front hairline and temples is not thick as it used to be. That was a very nice way of her to say I'm balding slightly. This is when I decided that I have to do something about it. Knowing more and more people are getting hair transplant surgeries and with the FUE available. I started researching. I spent a long time in doing so (I take my time in making decisions rather than a snap of the finger, bingo!) I had a contact in Miami who is a well known hair surgeon but when I found out how much he charged using FUE, I had to close that option. I then went onto deep research and as a result, hallelujah!!!! I found AHD - DR HAKAN DOGANAY. I read AHD's website and meticulously examined what it offered. First and foremost, I read DR HAKAN DOGANAY'S medical profile. It was truly credible and I was assured how much experience DR HAKAN DOGANAY had with hair transplant surgeries. The guy was very competent at with many different kind of procedures, using choi implanter pen, micro motor, the other traditional way of extracting hair from donor area etc etc. I then looked at the prices and what it included. I just couldn't believe how much AHD was offering. Surely, I am missing out on something. So I decided to read it again and again and again. However, when I saw DR HAKAN DOGONAY's photo, my instincts connected with this guy in some unknown universe way. I knew this is going to be my surgeon! Once I was satisfied, I contacted AHD via email with a vast list of questions. In a day, I got a response back from AHD admin team and reassured all my questions. As days went by, I kept thinking of more questions to ask and decided to email AHD again. I was replied again with great reassurance and response. Subsequently a few weeks later and asking for when I can get surgery done, I was given a couple of date options. I took the earliest one which fitted well around my schedule. I then booked my flight tickets (the only expense you have to pay but I decided to get travel insurance also for my own benefit) and showed the proof of the air ticket to AHD. They processed me onto their books and I had my appointment set. I had to wait until a month until my adventure to Antalya, Turkey starts. As the days grew closer to my departure, I was getting more and more excited. I kept looking at my receding areas and this time I didn't have that massive concern as I knew there was going to be a solution just around the corner for me. Finally the day came for departure to Antalya, Turkey. I took hand luggage only as I didn't need to take a lot of things as I was booked to stay for 3 nights. Tip: don't take any liquids, water creams over 100ml in hand baggage as it is not allowed. I bought all my essentials before hand for the trip. Lift off...I'm on route to Antalya...watching from the window my journey, I got to know how real this journey is getting. Finally, I land in Antalya, Turkey and I was greeted by a AHD driver who was ever so polite and courteous. Looking aorund my surroundings I couldn't believe how many holiday makers come to Antalya (I've been missing out all these years). Antalya was beautiful warm, pleasant with low humidity mid October. The driver took me to my accommodation and made sure I was ok with the hospitality. I was more than happy and excited. I spent the evening, eating a nice meal and watching Turkish TV and then went to bed. In the morning, after breakfast was supplied (free of charge) I was greeted by AHD foreign liasion staff MUSLUM. A very polite, cool, articulate and good with the ENGLISH language. We had a good chat and eventually came down to business. I told him about the hairline that I am expecting. He took notes of it. Finally I met the man of the hour, DR HAKAN DOGOANY, a humble gentleman. Muslum translated between myself and the doctor. We had a good consultation and I had a brief look at what I was going to be looking at in terms of grafts extracted and the procedure. I was reassured with confidence. For the interim till the surgery next day, I was introduced to AHD staff who was again, very polite and courteous and kept giving me TURKISH TEA. I fell in LOVE with Turkish tea and couldn't stop drinking it. I went back to my room which had a tv, shower, toilet, wash basin, closets, towels, bed, sofa, table. I couldn't ask for more. The hospital was high spec. Following day, it was time for surgery. A nurse took some blood tests, didn't feel a thing (she told me I had amazing veins). Muslum came to collect me and took me to the surgery wing. I was informed exactly what the day was going to entail. My hair was shaven off from the sides and back but I decided to the keep the length on top of my hair for my own reasons. After that, I was taken to the surgery room where I was greeted by DR HAKAN DOGANY's staff (nurses etc). I was laid down in a comfortable position and was given local anesthetic to the back of the head (felt slightly sore). But didn't feel any pain after that. The team then extracted my donor very carefully using the micro motor machine. I was pretty happy this tool by the competent team was used. It has so many advantages. Once the donor hair was extracted, we moved onto phase 2 - the transplant. DR HAKAN DOGANAY applied local anesthetic to the target areas and used his brilliant skills in transplanting the hair to the exact specification as I wanted. I asked for music to be played and that was acknowledged to pass the time. Once the procedure was over I was taken over by staff to another room where I had my free lunch meal and of course, Turkish tea. I was then escorted to my room and instructed to rest for few hours. I slept and rested till the evening. A couple of hours went by and I was feeling great. Sprinkled some water on my face being careful of the transplanted area (had a net hat on my head). I got changed and went to meet AHD staff. They were very welcoming and thanked them for what they done for me. They were humble and appreciative. Next day, I was given a evaluation on my head (donor area and transplant area). Everything was perfect. I was given instructions on post operation care step by step making sure I was happy with the next steps. I then went on get my head shampooed (using special shampoo and shown technique on how to dab onto the transplanted area). After that, I was given medications (free of charge) and instructions. Once I was happy with everything, I was told that the driver will take me to the airport at the set time. I was truly grateful to AHD - DR HAKAN DOGANAY, MUSLUM, NURSES, ADMIN TEAM. They made my journery really worthwhile and I left Antalya with a smile on my face. I am definitely going to return back to ANTALYA, but this time for a holiday as the city features beautiful beaches, activities, culture, amazing people, hospitality, restaurants, sun etc etc. When I posted pictures of the mountains and the beach to my friends, to my surprise, some of my friends responded, I've been there and had an amazing time. Yap, amazing was the word. Result: 1825 grafts in total
