  1. I agree with Spanker, especially in regard to Dr Quatela's recommendation, despite the disapproval of his results by the community here. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/174416-8-months-post-op-7.html http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/170361-vito-c-quatela-md-2-988-graft-fut-59-year-old-patient.html
  2. Sounds like Bhatti, Umar, Bisanga, or Doganay would be your best bet, with Umar producing the most 'wow' results with BHT. I couldn't say though which one produces the best hairlines.
  3. I'm sure it's perfectly normal but 8 days does seem very soon to be almost back at baseline. Do you mean hairs are coming out when you are removing the scabs, because I think that is very common. I take it there is no bleeding when these hairs are coming out?
  4. Busa how are your HT plans going, have you decided which doc to go with yet?
  5. Possibilities could be his age (a lot of docs won't operate on that area until there is a greater likelihood hair has stabilized post 40 yrs of age); lack of meds; and/or the fact his crown is not too bad and it would be a waste of grafts.
  6. Stopping one month before seems excessive. I was told by Feriduni hair clinic that minoxidil could be used up to one day before the procedure and then could be restarted two to three weeks later. So no risk of shedding.
  7. Lol, the more conscious you are about not doing something, the more you seem to do it. I am sure I hit my head more in that two week period after my HT than I did in the preceding two years!
  8. Thanks Muso, I know Dr Feriduni will try and avoid them as well if it is possible to get it done in one day to make things more comfortable for the patient, and also to minimise shockloss and reduced yield sometimes associated with consecutive day surgeries. A lot depends on the patient's physiology though and how easy the grafts come out....
  9. Hey Muso, What is Dr Rahal's current approach to consecutive day sessions for FUE? Is this something he still tries to avoid and if so, what would be the reasoning behind that? Thanks
  10. ps Matt, what is the nature of your association now with Dr K?
  11. It's not exactly an extensive catalogue of FUE work though. Based on published results Dr K's work is predominantly FUT. He is not a 50:50 FUE:FUT doc like Feriduni or Bisanga. As as a north american doc, he appears to publish far fewer FUE results than the likes of Rahal and Diep. Of course I don't have the inside knowledge Matt obviously has of his practices and the number of FUE cases he has a week, but just from what I have observed from published redults on the HRN. I'm sure he has considerable expertise in FUE, but I'm not sure whether he has published sufficient FUE work yet to label him a "FUE specialist". Be that as it may, he appears to be a supurb doc but I am basing this on what I have observed from his FUT work, not his handful of FUE results, which is how any objective assessment should be.
  12. Since when does Dr K specialise in FUE?
  13. For the millions of guys fin has helped, I am sure it has made them less depressed, if anything.
  14. I was back into heavy lifting and cardio 3 weeks post op but then again I had FUE
  15. Wazaam are you a Rahal patient as he seems to hav had a few negative results posted on here recently? You still have a really good head of hair and I'm betting you have a decent number of grafts left in your donor area, so there are still options available to you. In this case I would ask for a partial refund and move forward and consider another surgeon who specializes in manual FUE extraction to beef up the front. By the way, I note from another forum that you are not on Propecia since your marriage. That could be one contributing factor to you losing native hair through a combination of shock loss and your hair loss simply progressing.
  16. This is an interesting statement from Dr Bauman on why minoxidil may not work for a lot of people: Minoxidil - Speaking of minoxidil, this treatment also requires a disclaimer. Although it is FDA-approved and has proven science behind it, the catch is that minoxidil doesn't work for everyone. In fact, over-the-counter minoxidil may only work well in about 38.3 per cent of patients, according to medical studies. Studies suggest that a patient has to have an active enzyme called "sulfotransferase" in order for their hair follicles to respond to minoxidil treatments. It is this enzyme that converts topically applied minoxidil into the active chemical (called minoxidil sulfate) that stimulates the follicles. Not everyone has enough sulfotransferase to "activate" minoxidil. There may be other biological roadblocks too -- like inflammation at or around hair follicles in the scalp and other factors, which can also affect minoxidil's action. The bottom line for patients is that there's a 65 per cent chance that standard over-the-counter minoxidil won't help you. Instead, you may require a prescription for a specially formulated, compounded minoxidil solution for optimal results. A new "minoxidil sensitivity' test will be out soon in the US, which can pre-determine if a patient is likely to respond to standard over-the-counter minoxidil before they start the treatment.
  17. Dr Feriduni is a nice guy, however I have not received one email from his clinic since my procedure two months ago to say hey how's it going etc, which strikes me as a little odd after spending the best part of 15k, or do I have unrealistic expectations of post op after care/communication?
  18. I can't talk for Dr Maral, but Dr Feriduni who did my HT, places a great deal of value in his team of techs who have been with him for years, and go to and present conferences all over the world. They do all the extractions and implanting and Dr Feriduni's results speak for themselves. There is a lot of disingenuous stuff written about techs on these pages, like they are a lower form of life or something. A lot of these techs are more experienced and skilled at extracting grafts than the docs. A HT doc in FUE terms is only as good as his or her team of the techs, don't forget that.
  19. Another thing on a practical note is you may struggle to get a booking with Feriduni this year, less so with Erdogan.
  20. Hey David That will be helpful if you could, I have read a couple of other sources which says the concentration is 0.25% and the fact they will not disclose its concentration makes me feel it is less than 1%......I have assumed all these years it is 1% and don't understand the attitude of the manufacturer in not wanting to be transparent with its customers about how much of the most important active ingredient (keto) is in their product. To quote my email exchange: DS Support (DS Laboratories) Feb 2, 12:43 PM Hello XXX, I'm sorry but we do not have access to that information. Any information that the company released about Ingredients would be on the website. Regards, Sheryl Jan 29, 6:13 PM Hey there, Just checking does revita have 0.25% keto or 1%? Thanks XXX
  21. So Revita emailed and said they will not disclose how much Keto is in Revita....bad form IMO, bad form.
  22. I can't recall Erdogan publishing BHT cases on here, which is not to say he hasn't. Here is a recent thread on BHT docs, Doganay is probably a better bet if you want to combine body hair.... http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/176308-if-bht-your-last-resort-who-whould-you-chose.html
