  1. Hey guys, I think this is a bit harsh. His posts could be abrasive and he didn't guild the lily, but like others I always felt his intentions were sincere. He did not strike me as a disruptive poster, rather someone with very strong views. A lot of what he said of course is entirely subjective and opinion based, and the manner in which he expressed those beliefs did have an irritant value on occasion, but I never felt that his intentions were bad.
  2. Lol Dr Feller that is some good bait there re your numerical comparison.
  3. There are some really good FUE docs in North America, Dr Vories, Dr Arocha and Dr Diep to name but three...I'm willing to bet they are a lot more positive about FUE than Dr Feller, and the reason is they are showcasing great results online with FUE. Simples.
  4. Interesting to note from Dr L's website: "One of the most vital aspects of this technique (FUE) is the quality of the units which are removed. We have found from our studies in previous years that the quality and strength of the grafts removed are better than those extracted by the strip method. The follicular units are much cleaner when removed one by one then by separating them under the microscope. This also helps to reduce wounding to the recipient area. Our surgeons have presented these studies in various seminars on hair transplants"
  5. Perhaps Dr L used to do strip many years ago but it is pretty obvious now he is an FUE doc and their own literature talks about the benefits of FUE over strip differences_fue-strip
  6. Dr Feller your own online rep, Spex, has told me via email that in his opinion there is no difference in yield between Dr Feriduni's FUT and FUE. I can forward you the email if you like. What do you think of that?
  7. Adding to the density as spanker said, you would need hundreds of grafts to bring the hairline down
  8. 300 won't do diddly squat mate, I reckon with another 1500 to 2000 grafts, you will look awesome, why can't you save up and wait?
  9. I think FUE has narrowed that gap though which is one of the reasons why it is so popular now. The Belgium docs in particular who practice FUE and FUT have shown some beautiful FUE results, maybe not quite as spectacular as the best ever strip results, but still right up there. Dr Feriduni's FUE is so good the only reason I personally would have elected for Strip with him would have been to save $4000.
  10. Janna from Shapiro medical stated a couple of months ago on another HT site, which I can give the link to if allowed, that: "We've always felt our strip yields approx. 98%+ and fue is now closer to 90-95%. We will keep trying to achieve 98% or better with our fue." Would be interesting to hear what other clinics say about their FUE yield...
  11. At the end of the day, the majority of us, as lay people, can't argue as forceably on the technical aspects of hair restoration procedures as the docs, such as Dr Feller, who perform the work day in day out. For the most part we are relying on second hand information from the internet and discussion forums to support our views. However, where our views do carry as much weight as the docs, or anyone for that matter, is from the results published online. Everything else being equal, this is what we are left with. Results. And my opinion on results, from what I observe online, is as valid as anyone else's. And if we accept all of FUE's limitations, for sake of argument, we are still left with something which gives really good results in the hands of the right docs without the linear scar. Isn't that all that matters?
  12. Dr F, I suspect if you were based in Europe (where there are less constraints on tech involvement) and could achieve the results Dr Lorenzo does with large FUE sessions, you would not care for the position you are currently advocating because to do so would be cutting off your nose to spite your face. The demand for FUE is clearly huge and with the quality of work coming out of Europe and cheaper costs than the US, it is going to continue growing in popularity. FUE is where the money is which is why you are not going to get FUE docs coming on here to highlight its limitations to the same extent you are (assuming those limitations are valid)
  13. Can you show us a pic of your donar and what this hair looks like that is falling out?
  14. Good call, but Dr Lindsey is saying if you take 100 FUE's done by the top 10 guys in the world and compare them to 100 Strip cases done by the top 10 guys in the world...same size cases, same hair quality, everything that you could make the same you do....that the strip results will be **at least** 40% fuller (once grown out) than the same FUE cases. So, would you say those handful of great FUE docs you referenced are producing results at least 40% inferior to the best strip guys in terms of grown out fullness?
  15. Good post, the 40% quote from Dr Lindsey seems optimistic to me, id be very surprised if the docs in Belgium who do both strip and FUE have that much of a disparity between the final appearance of fullness in their subjects. I would love to hear what Dr Feller, Bloxham, and Lindsey think of Dr Lorenzo's work, do his results look 40% or even 20% inferior in appearance of fullness than their strip cases?
  16. 3500 FUE in one day is not necessarily too much. Depends on a lot of factors, such as how easy the grafts come out, experience of the team, is he the only patient on the day etc. Dr Feriduni does sessions of over 3500 grafts in one day by the way. Back to the ops question, some pins and needles pain in the donor area is common, it is unpleasant and gets worse at night, but does go away by the third week.
  17. Speaking of which I am six months post op and feel so much better about my hair than I have in a very long time (years) its amazing what it does for the confidence and I've noticed women are responding to that. But the big difference has not been my confidence IMO, its my hair, the way it now frames my face, gives me a better profile from the side, and improves my looks....you don't realise (generally) how much better you look with hair until you have lost it and got it back again...and the difference in the way women respond to that (for me) is night and day.
  18. Man its insane the women you get when you're famous....i mean imagine how many girls that harry stiles guy from 1D has shagged in the last four years, hundreds .....must be such an insane (ly good) world to live in
  19. Dr Lindsey made an interesting point that if you take 100 FUE's done by the top 10 guys in the world and compare them to 100 Strip cases done by the top 10 guys in the world...same size cases, same hair quality, everything that you could make the same you do....that the strip results will be at least 40% fuller (once grown out) than the same FUE cases. That is a BIG call in my opinion. Are the FUE results from the top guys really that far off from the best strip cases...views?
  20. Feriduni's repair results are amazing but long, long wait list.
  21. Yeah Robben is pretty bald but among top soccer players he is the exception IMO
