  1. The outcome is really good. But this is a hard one because this guy's transplanted hairs seem to have grown out faster than the native after bleaching or they were just much darker, making his hairline seem unnatural to me. Judging by that last picture it would be obvious to the naked eye that something isnt right. Is this because of bleaching alone and different growing rates?
  2. Hey starscream, I've been taking it for 15+ years. On and off for the first few years then steadily for the last 10 or so years. It has definitely slowed my hairloss. I'm pretty sure I would be somewhere around a NW5, and I'm still a NW3. It really has helped in the hair department. I'm not sure if I got any sexual side effects. I might have, or were there other factors (age, situation, etc.) in play? I am still 100% able to have sex with a naked girl (ha) but have become more selective and my sex drive has dropped off in the last 2-3 years. This doesnt seem to be linked to finasteride use because I was taking it for so many years before, but who knows? I take 1 pill almost every night of the week. Sometimes I skip a day but usually not. About shedding, I might have had some in the very beginning but it was so worth it in the long run.
  3. An important thread. It helped take the pictures in question down. Good to see.
  4. I use some generic brand. I've tried a few different ones. They all seem to do the same thing. I wash my hair every day. I think I remember in the beginning thinking there was some shedding going on but that stopped and then things got much thicker and my hairloss stabilized. Basically wherever you are now, you're gonna stay there for much longer (years) and probably get some growth.
  5. sivy28 you made some great points. It is a glitch in the industry at the moment IMHO. A patient has no way to know if the tech is an amazing/qualified person who has been there for years and assisted in great outcomes, or a new trainee who has been there for a month and a half and is transecting like it's popcorn. What about a list of good techs? I've heard some names over the years (Lorezo's for instance) but not many. Patients are paying top dollar for their chosen Dr. to work on them. The doctor "should" be doing the work.
  6. He looks much better. Got some hair up there but still sporting a comb-over. Hmmm. A light breeze would wreck that thing. Hope he opts in for a round 2 to address the frontal 3rd.
  7. Its stabilized my hair loss amazingly. Ive been taking it for 10 years. I'm guessing I would be a NW 5 by now (I'm a NW 3 today). I would say give it a bit more time. Try another 6 months. See what happens. I remember some shedding periods, but in the long run it really helped.
  8. My guess is they wouldn't mind your money. or they didn't take the time to really look at your photos. Just a guess Choose Belgium.
  9. Amazing transformation. Congrats. If you start Fin right now, you could hold on to the top and crown for another 5-10 years easy. If not, they are gonna go in the next few. But seems you have a good doctor and react well to HT's so you are in good shape either way. Great pics.
  10. I agree. I've been to a few for consults while another patient was being worked on and couldn't help but think that if I got my HT at that clinic the doctor could be out in the office during my procedure having a consultation with someone else, while the techs are doing the work.
  11. Great post. What worries me most is the grey area of "partial tech involvement". The clinics that seem to advertise as doctor run, but then we get reports from guys saying "The techs were doing this and that" and the results come back subpar. With these it's sort of a guessing game. Who is the tech working on your very important scalp? How long has he/she been working there? How talented is he/she? (more than likely less talented than the doctor who you are actually paying for). The more we read the more we come to realize that all aspects of a HT are ultra important and take talent and thought. From extraction without waste or ruin, to artistic placement etc. It all counts. I think there should be more concern about this in the industry in general to insure better and better results over the coming years. Kind of important for everyone...
  12. From all ive read its better to shave it. Your going to look weird either way for 5 months. Just go for it. Shaved will probably look less weird and you can just wear a hat. Better odds.
  13. bigwilly1234, That hairline does not look right. So sorry for your pain. Yea when the techs do the job there is no telling what can happen. Its a bad trend in the industry. No doctor is perfect and all have some home runs and some bad days but if people are getting bad results like yours from a doctor it is important that it is known so others can avoid him or the doctor can get his stuff together and get back on track. New techs? better quality control?
  14. Its all about the donor density. You're gonna be a happy guy.
  15. Well said. Personal self interest is inherent in human nature so it is smart to go beyond the advise of a rep if he is guiding you directly to his doctor, for instance. That being said there is a wealth of knowledge on this forum that is invaluable for anyone considering a hair transplant. The Dr. Doganay stuff does sound shady though IMHO and should be looked into.
