  1. Dr. Alexander and Slush: I Just noticed this thread again this morning and actually just got a haircut this afternoon. These pictures are from today. As you can see, the first pic shows how nice the donor strip healed, and just barely any mark. Like I said, truly remarkable job by Dr. Alexander, and basically it's undetectable. The 2nd pic is before the haircut, hair grown out. 3rd picture was taken after the haircut, shorter hair, where you still can't see it. Here is the link where you can see my updates. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/180167-outstanding-experience-dr-scott-alexander-phoenix-az.html
  2. Great updates. I'm almost 2 years post-op with Dr. Alexander. The lady that cuts my hair is amazed every time I go. She has very difficult time finding the 'scar' and she knows where it is. With Dr. Alexander, it's pretty much undetectable.
  3. Thanks for the kind remarks JON86 and azakdan268- if you're in Phoenix, you definitely need to see Dr. Alexander if you're thinking about a HT. I'm very thankful for Dr. Alexander and his entire staff!
  4. Just wanted to post some pics from my 13 month mark, which was August 1. The first 2 pictures are before my surgery. The following 4 pictures are from this week.
  5. Thanks for the kind words, chrisdav; and Dr. Alexander, I really appreciate your support on my journey! I'm a few days shy of the 10 Month mark, my surgery date was 7/1/15. I wanted to post some updated pictures. The first two pictures being the crown, my friend took these for me, and actually I had been out running errands in the warm humidity and it was pretty windy as well. So keep in mind, I had not run a comb through it since first thing in the morning, and this is going through the day being very active. The next few pictures showing the frontal area-the way my hair falls I've taken a few different pictures, just how it lays, and also pulled back so you can see the hairline. If you are reading this and other threads thinking about getting a HT, I will tell you that over the past almost year, having Spex be on Dr. Alexander's team has put me at ease and given me the confidence of being able to reach out, ask questions, and get advice...and from someone of his caliber and expertise on hair loss and HT surgery has been truly remarkable. If you're sitting there thinking about a HT and have questions and want an honest opinion, I would highly recommend you reach out to Spex/ Dr. Alexander's team. Of course, I'm a little bias because this time last year I had a huge bald spot in my crown & no hairline in sight, and today I look at pictures from the holidays and this spring with a frontal hairline and a crown full of hair! At any rate, this forum is about information to help people, and I always said if I had HT I would tell my story!
  6. 6 month update: I hope everyone is having a Happy New Year. I'm exactly 6 months post-op. The hairline and crown areas have continued to fill in very nicely. I am extremely happy with my progress, results, and the natural look of it all. The time really has gone by pretty quick week by week, and month by month, as the hairs have come in. It's very nice on a windy day how my hair all stays together now, and does not look like a mop like before my surgery. It's just small, but big things, like that making a huge difference. A few friends that know about my HT were amazed and super impressed over the holidays. I am 33 years old by the way. The first Two pictures are pre-op. The next Four pictures are from just yesterday, 6 months post-op.
  7. 4 Month Update: Hello, I wanted to update everyone with my progress. November 1 was the 4 month mark for me. I am extremely happy with the my progress. Week by week, month by month the hairs have been coming in very nicely. The pictures are in order of 2 months, 3 months, 4 months. The last two pictures are the front at 4 months. I will update in two weeks with my 5 month update. I am about to head out to a game, without wearing a hat, as you can see my entire crown is basically covered, and I actually have a hairline now.
  8. It's still early, but I am 7 weeks past my surgery date of July 1 and wanted to update this thread with some pictures before the surgery, a few more after, and to this point. At about the 4 week mark most of the grafts had fallen out. I am very pleased with how the scar is healing and the overall process in general. It's exactly what I expected. I'll start with the first picture pre-op showing no real hairline and a good bit of thinning in the front as well. You can see the front grafted area in the 2nd picture. (2 days post op) You might notice a little swelling in the forehead, etc that occurred around day 2-3. By day 4-5 it had completely gone away. It is completely normal. My crown had a several bald spots as you can see in the 3rd picture. The 4th picture (Day 1 post-op) shows how Dr. Alexander was able to put a lot of grafts in my much needed crown area. The 5th picture shows what the grafted area looks like about a week out, where the grafted hairs are noticeable. The last few pictures are from this week, close to 7 weeks post op. I have continued the daily regiment of Finasteride and Rogaine.
  9. Dr. Alexander, you're very welcome & thanks again to you and your staff for having everything go as smooth as possible. I look forward to sharing my progress! Bill, after lurking for years it's great to be a part of the community here. Without this forum, there is no way I could've gained what I needed to know going into a HT. The information and support here means everything. Will do & thanks for the welcome!
  10. I'm only a little more than a week past my surgery, FUT-3,000 grafts, but wanted to share my great experience with Dr. Alexander in Phoenix. I've been looking on this message board for years. I'm grateful for the all information from so many familiar names. After researching different Dr.'s results, along with the types of hair loss I have experience, some between hairs, frontal loss, and the crown area, I felt Dr. Alexander was the best fit for me. Another key aspect besides the quality and number of grafts, was the linear scar issue. Dr. Alexander's donor site scars are very clean and sealed very tight, resulting in a basically invisible scar. I just had my stitches out a few days ago at the one week mark, and I am very pleased with how it's healing. Weeks before the procedure I had a phone consultation with a list of questions. Dr. Alexander just put me at ease, about things to do before the surgery, and also what to expect after the surgery. With the reading I had done on the various forums, and the information Dr. Alexander had given me, those combined definitely calmed my nerves on the day of the surgery. Everything went exactly according to plan. I flew to Phoenix to have the surgery done. Dr. Alexander and his entire staff are first class. They are kind and really did care about my comfort throughout the entire process, including providing lunch and calling a cab to take me back to my hotel after. During the surgery I watched a movie and Dr. Alexander made sure I was comfortable each step of the way. The surgery day went exactly as planned. I felt at ease throughout each stage of the day, from the morning while the donor site was being done, to the afternoon while the grafts were going in. Also, the grafts regarding healing does go very smoothly with the Acell that Dr. Alexander uses. I'm around the 10 day mark so most of my scabs have already come off. I truly can't say enough good things about Dr. Alexander and his staff. They took their time and were very attentive. I know how hard it is losing your hair and trying to pick a HT Dr. I wish everyone reading this considering a HT the best of luck on your journey. Since it's so early, I'll just post this picture for now. Post Op Day 1 to give those just starting out researching what it looks like the day after. If anyone has any questions I'm happy to answer, just shoot me a message.
