  1. CANCEL IMMEDIATELY!....and book a consultation with one of the recommeded docs on here. Even if you lose a few thousand deposit it is far better than a botched HT.
  2. Hats off to you (no pun intended!) that's ballsey. Hope it goes well for you. If you're going from long to very short maybe you can say you were experimenting with the buzz cut while you were off. Or it was a mates stag do and someone shaved it for a prank..
  3. A fair point, but at least i could get the op done and then start in a new place where no one knew what I used to look like. I could also try to find somewhere with a minimal number of staff or do some kind of outdoor work where I could wear a hat. It wouldnt have to be the best paid. Just something to tide me over for 6 months!
  4. Thanks for the replies. Most of the work would be in the hairline so it would be challenging to hide. Perhaps I'm being unrealistic. Fortunately I can put in a request for 6 months off but they say you are not allowed to work elsewhere (unsurprising). However, I could try to find something abroad. Failing that I may have to finance the time off myself. The office I work in is open plan with 200 people on one floor!
  5. Hi guys, What's your opinion on the optimum time needed to take off work after strip surgery? Where I work I could probably get 4/5 consecutive weeks off, or up to 6 months unpaid leave (I'd need to cook up a story to get this approved though). If I grew my native hair out I think I could do a reasonable job in concealing a HT from co-workers. It all depends on when the hairs fall out, post-HT, redness... Thanks in advance.
  6. Looks great! You could experiment with some hair fibres for a complete look.
  7. I need to cover hairline to crown and the recommended capful is nowhere near enough! I probably use 3-4 capfuls if im honest as so much gets clogged in native hair. The situation I'm sure is different for people with buzz cuts. I've never tried the liquid so I cant comment on the difference.
  8. Good question. I know you can get it from the Belgravia Clinic but everyone says they are overpriced.
  9. Now that I have purchased a can of Mane I wouldnt be surprised if that's what he's using. It definately looked good at the weekend. Keeping it short is best for him.
  10. I've used Just For Men on a weekly basis for about 4 years now. Weekly because gym work tends to make it fade out fast. The benefit I see if that you can match concealers to the hair colour for a more natural look.
  11. I think you just have naturally low-density hair coverage and characteristics that make your scalp look prominent from time to time. Not anything to worry about in my book. You could end up thinning in future years but that depends on genetics.
  12. I'm in an open plan office, 200 people per floor! I had a look at their site and it seems as though it is what a lot of celebs must be using, e.g. Gary Barlow. I will order some Mane. Where do you buy yours? Yep, in the UK. Propecia gave me too many sides but I'm on Regaine which works well.
  13. Had a look at your photos. You're still quite young so there's a high probability that frontal tuft will erode further. With no meds I think 2000 would be about right because you would need to keep sufficient donor in the bank for a second HT. A conservative, but not overly dense boost around the hairline could work quite well but you may beed to come back in 5-6 years time. Try the meds for 6 months as this could alter your game plan.
  14. Good sensible hairline design and looks hardly noticeable (as expected) at the 14 week stage.
  15. I'll look into Mane - thanks for the tip. I dye my remaining hair light brown and use the light brown Nanogen fibres. Considering a HT all the time but I need (ideally) to save enough for the HT and to take 4-6 months off work. I have to meet a lot of people on a daily basis in my job and I don't think I could handle it, even if I took a month off! Much better to come back later when everyone has forgotten (sort of!) how I used to look! I'm nearly 34 and think that a couple more years could be the time to do it. No immediate rush. I've been recommended 2500-3500 grafts in the frontal third.
  16. I've started using Nanogen fibres and the locking mist. So far I'm quite impressed with it although as most people will agree it isn't that effective at covering a receeding hairline (which is where my problem is). I've found that as long as you use a small amount but steer clear of the first inch or so of the hairline it has a decent thickening effect. It definately makes the area a lot less see-through and stops that annoying spot-light effect on the scalp. The stuff is quite expensive so I'll be searching online for cheap suppliers.
  17. In priority order: 1)Go see a hairloss specialist, hair restoration surgeon. You DON'T need a HT at all, but they can give you an honest assessment of where you're thinning out. 2)Try Propecia. You may get side effects (as I did) but just stop if you do and you will return to normal after a few days. Don't get hung up with the scare stories but just be sensible about it. 3)Start using Rogaine Foam or a generic version. It can work on the hairline and slow down the loss. 4)Open a savings account and put $100 a month into it. After 10 years you will have more than enough to get a HT, if desired!
  18. John Cleese had a HT in his 70s I believe, so age alone is not a barrier!
  19. That's just sebaceous glands I think. Try using Nizoral shampoo once a week or every 5 days. It stopped me getting those.
  20. Only go with those docs if you're 100% comfortable with it. I've seen HDC offering some decent rates in Cyprus, or Dr De Reys (FUE).
  21. For me you haven't lost enough yet to get a HT. I think you should just monitor it, continue with the Minox/Nizoral and save for a HT in the future (if you need to).
  22. Just watched it. Farjo op bit is at 55 minutes, Scalp pigmentation at about 1hr 10. I have to agree that the guy with the pigmentation (not done by Farjo Clinic), looks a bit silly. The hairline is too straight.
  23. Hello mate, I just had a look at your pics and I'm not convinced you're a candidate at all. Those last 2 pictures of your donor area appear to be thinning out. Recommend you see a doc in person before paying any deposits. Good luck.
  24. Yes I think it takes a bit longer to dry. Not a problem for me as I apply about 20 minutes before bed.
