  1. "Pictures are pre-op to immediate post op after 2nd strip proceedure." Personally I think his results after his first procedure are very good. After his 2nd procedure grows in this patient should be very, very happy. Nice work.
  2. I would say that most sane people care where their surgeon is during surgery. Your posts seem disconnected from reality.
  3. No need to get emotional, seems like Matt was just voicing an opinion. I think this result looks great but this patient's hairline does look a bit linear so I can understand the point of view that it seems "front loaded" a bit.
  4. Yes 1300 grafts is not going to make much of a difference, sorry you were led to believe otherwise. Who was your surgeon? Was it Dr. Katonah?
  5. Looking great strikey good luck growing!
  6. Matt does Dr. K advise taking it easy for the first four months so as not to jeopardize scar healing?
  7. Recovery time for FUE is unequivocally faster. Are FUE scars better? Better is a subjective term. Are 3000 tiny scars better than 1 linear scar? If you wear your hair short then FUE scars are less obvious and I suppose "better." If you wear your hair about an inch or longer, then nobody will see what's going on at the scalp level so it's really a non issue. That being said there is much more of an "x-factor" involved with a strip scar wherein a skilled surgeon can do everything right and the patient can follow the correct recovery protocols and the scar will still stretch.
  8. Unfortunately Robin Williams succumbed to depression today. He was a great performer and I'm old enough to remember watching Mork and Mindy on TV. Really liked him in Dead Poet's Society and Good Will Hunting. I think he had some work done on his hair which looked really good in my opinion. Anyone know who worked on him? Just goes to show that you can have all the money in the world but if your head isn't right it doesn't mean a thing...
  9. Nice repair work. The heavy gel is not helping but this patient's hair looks much much better! The scar looks so much better also.
  10. Very cynical. FUE has come a long way in the past few years and is much more reliable now than it was in the early days. If FUE yields have become better and better over the years what is so outrageous about someone changing their opinion?
  11. Really sorry to hear about your situation. It is very difficult to sue a hair-transplant surgeon. You sign away many of your rights to sue in the pre-op paper work and unless the doc was drunk or high during surgery it is not going to go well. The chances of you getting other doctors to testify against another surgeon is very unlikely at best. There have been a few cases on this board where unsatisfied patients have tried to pursue civil actions against surgeons and they all have gotten shut down. Most recently there was a big to-due about one of Dr. Umar's patients and the thread explaining the situation was locked after many weeks of back and forth accusations, which by the way was probably the right thing to do by the moderators as it was really just going around in circles...you can still look it up if interested. That patient basically gave up because he was threatened with legal action and that gets expensive very quickly. You could probably get a personal injury lawyer to take your case as many of them will take just about any case, but I would imagine after looking into it further they would not spend all that much time on it. Sorry I can't be more encouraging for you but that is the reality of the situation as I see it. Do you have any pictures to post? Was it a recommended surgeon? Maybe it isn't as bad as you think it is and you can get some suggestions on how to move forward. Your situation also underscores how important it is to deal with reputable Docs who stand behind their work and if a bad result happens are willing to make it right.
  12. Joe have your views on FUE yield changed at all or do you still subscribe to the thought that strip yields are much better?
  13. We've had a few conversations over the years and I've always thought you were an honest and very knowledgeable guy. Glad to see you're staying in the industry and best of luck to you at Dr.Rahal's! It seems as if Dr. Rahal isn't represented as much as he used to be online, I'm sure you can help them out with that.
  14. Taking a short term burst of prednisone is nothing to worry about. It only gets worrisome for people taking it long term but even then there is no definitive connection to it causing hairloss.
  15. Nice write up and good luck. You have that solid base in the middle of your head to work off of and I am sure you will be happy with the result. Are you on Finasteride?
  16. Sure it can. 1000 grafts in your frontal third or just that frontal forelock area can do wonders.
  17. What a shame. The only "bullet" he has left resides in his chin and chest hairs. At 64 it's a tough call but if he has the funds and the will, somebody like Umar will be his only course of action. He definitely should let his hair grow in the back to provide some coverage for the punches and strip scars.
