  1. Hi There, I've had bad surgery, hairline being placed too low, incorrect density/direction, the surgeries took place when I was 21/22. I'm turning 25 shortly, I've recently mustered up the courage to chat to a lawyer, he suggests that due to the sensitivity of the issue I can request this case not be held in an open court. Also that some lawyers (within the medical mispractice world) would settle for a percentage of the case winnings instead of an upfront payment. As long as other professionals in the same field can back me up stating the work was not great, I have a good shot. He should at least reimburse me/pay for repair surgery/fraxel/laser hair removal/therapy/flights and accommodation for me to travel and meet other patients and doctor's to confirm their results in person as well as the loss of income i'll incur while travelling, he also needs to pay heftily for the psychological damage caused and the wasted grafts (those are absolutely priceless) . I'd appreciate your feedback on this, am i expecting too much/too little? has anyone been through this before? what is your experience? Regards, Mr510

  3. I've posted on many occasion asking for patients from South Africa, sometimes I feel like I'm the only South African here...
  4. Some concerns with that.. I've done online consults with Hasson and Wong/Rahal and a few other surgeons recommended on this site. The problem comes in when it's time to view patients in person (an absolute must). None of their patients are from around my area, I'd need to travel and minimum 8 hour flight just to meet patients. Where as with doctor Zontos, I did see 2 of his patients in person. I am just concerned due to him not being recommended here... Do you believe that you have to be listed on hairrestorationnetwork in order for you to be considered a good hair transplant surgeon? Yes, grafts are limited, but so is our time on this earth...
  5. I really don't think it's worth it, I've been for 2 hair transplants and I'm only 24... it's caused more pain than gain.. I suggest you read a lot of books/study and gym like crazy, keep busy and improve yourself in other areas. As everyone here says 'your hair looks great'! and they're right. I wish I followed the advice I gave you...
  6. Thanks for the advice guys much appreciated, I hardly log on, mainly because I really hate the situation I'm in and I try to distract myself as much as possible. I think you are right and I should postpone/cancel the surgery respectfully and do more research, what would be the best wording to use to do this? "Family issues"/"Work trouble"? Should I cancel now or a few weeks before the surgery? You are right, this is more of a convenience, not the result of extensive research. Also what are your guys views/opinions/experience on therapy (psychologists/psychiatrists)? Perhaps I should post this as a separate thread. Thanks again:)

  8. Hi no stress/moorlocks/anyone else reading, iv booked for surgery with doctor zontos in august, just saw 2 of his patients and the results are good, but i'm still nervous and would appreciate if you could send me results if you did have surgery with him? or if you know this is going to be a mistake please let me know too. regards...
  9. Hi there, I've confirmed my surgery with Dr Zontos (Greek doctor), who will be coming to johannesburg in the beginning of August. I've asked about him before, did not receive any feedback, I've seen 2 of his patients and the results are good, also seen results of 1 patient by the south african doctor that works with him. i'm 24 and i had 2 terrible strip procedures at the age of 21, the past few years have been the worst of my life. can anyone please help calm my nerves and tell me i'm not making a mistake with dr zontos? i won't be able to handle another bad procedure, I'm sure my therapist can already afford a yacht after all the help i've needed already. regards, very very nervous guy from south africa.
