  1. That is really good news. Two ugly scars down into one hopefully thin scar. Excellent...
  2. Granville Island is a cool place to hang out!! Tip a few back for me!! (are you allowed to drink after surgery lmao I forgot...)
  3. Hey waisal congrats. Sorry to hear about the death in your family and was very happy to hear that Dr. Devroye was accomodating for you. I think eventually I will also do some FUE into my scar if its possible. Question: how do you slepp for the first week or so? It has to be sitting up right? With grafts in the back of your head even sleeping in a recliner with a travel pillow on must be difficult...
  4. Congrats man it's been quite a ride for you hasn't it? Look forward to your pics. Rest up...
  5. Good luck with your procedure. Too bad Dr. Feller couldn't help you out with your lost deposit, it's not like you cancelled on him and went somewhere else. I know business is business but you had an accident ffs, that might have been a deal breaker for me... but that's just me. Since you mentioned grafts into your existing scar I am assuming that you are getting FUE done. Cheers I hope you feel duly sorted out after all is said and done.
  6. Check out Gemini1 and Gemini2's story. They are stage actors who are twins and got their procedures done at Hasson & Wong. I think one of them said he used to wear a partial wig on stage pre hair transplant and now does not. Anyway they seem like good guys and they may be able to give you some insight from the perspective of a fellow actor.
  7. Just because you were not totally satisfied with your first procedure, I doubt the community here would feel as if you were bashing your first doc if you were upfront about it and said who it was. This forum should not only be able to accept glowing reviews but also honest and less than glowing reviews as well... that's what this forum is all about. As far as the butterflies you are experiencing, it is simply normal and I wouldn't overthink it as you mentioned. I reviewed your pictures and your first procedure wasn't all that bad, I think we always tend to be harder on ourselves than we should be. My second procedure was easier than the first for me. I'm sure a few valium will be made available to you if you are still stressed the day of, but I'm sure it will be a walk in the park especially in light of how comfortable you are with Dr. Wesley. Good luck and keep us posted!
  8. That's funny. Don't you love guys that like to make fun of others with thin hair or who are bald? If the guy is a NW 1.5 he really doesn't have much to worry about though. That's making you smile? Shrug it off, the guy sounds like a twit.
  9. Hey Wrapper are you a rapper wrapped up in a wrapper who raps? =) NHP is an enthusiastic poster who misunderstood one of your posts, I really don't think he is trying to be a wise ass. We are here for knowledge and support and the occasional off the cuff commentary so stay focused on the positive. I have two stacked strip scars and let me tell you that 2 are in no way better than 1!! If I could turn back the hands of time and just get one scar I would do it in an instant. First off two scars are harder to conceal than one. Logically if you have two scar you need to have your hair longer to cover them because there is more real estate to cover, especially if they are close. If somewhere down the road you wanted to have a different hairstyle and have it much shorter in the back, one scar is definitely better than two. While it's true that taking a second strip from "virgin" territory will increase the yield as oppossed to taking the second strip over the first one, I think the small increase in yield is not worth it. I am probably more self conscious about my scars than I am about the top and front of my head, and I had work done that was much less than "refined" on top. I wasn't even aware that some clinics still take two different strips as a planned strategy anymore, I always assumed that guys with two strips ended up that way because the first strip was either taken way too high, or as in my case, way too low. If your first strip is in a good location and you want another procedure, I would encourage you to do what all the leading clinics do and work off of the first one so that you end up with just one hopefully thin scar. Speak with Jotronic, mattj, or Janna to get really informed opnions on your situation, or go directly to different docs themselves. While it is great to get opinions from other posters, it is always crucial to glean info from the true experts. Good luck and keep us informed.
  10. 12-18 months is needed to see the final result. This seems to be concensus among top clinics. 1mg daily dose of Finasteride is what is recommended for hairloss as you know. 5mg per day is the recommended dose used to treat BPH. How many mg's are you taking now? The crown area as you mentioned is known for growing and maturing slower than hairline and top. I think you are correct in assuming that you have further to go with your crown. It is surprising to hear that any Doc would assume that your results would be final at 12 months.
  11. You're not going to be able to cut them into sixths. You'll end up with crumbs and dust but give it a try, nothing like firsthand experience. You've mentioned some studies that you said indicated that a 3 times a week regiment was found to be nearly as effective as the daily dose. Can you provide a link? I would like to read them as I have just started Finasteride and the side effect potential is creeping me out.
  12. littlemink how in the world are you cutting you 5mg finasteride tabs into .8mg chunks?? You're cutting one pill into 6 pieces? I cut the 5mg tabs into 1.25mg quarters and one quarter of a tab is teeny tiny!!
  13. Why don't you post the studies that you are talking about and I'm sure someone will shine some light on them.
  14. Here's some oldtime medicine... P.S. My brother in law is 5'6" and almost completely bald. He is the CEO of a medical practice and makes "beaucoup dinero" as Jeff Spicoli would say...
  15. Looking great orlhair congrats!! Great that you're thinking about going back for more but I have to say that your result is definitely a "stand alone" procedure. If the healing and down time of the first procedure wasn't too bad for you I say go for it in regard to doing another one.
  16. Wow it seems as if Ziering is using the business model that his former employer MHR used: open as many clinics as possible and get as many butts in the seats as possible. Always question doctors that are working for someone else. Ask yourself this: if this doc is any good why isn't he in his own practice and working for himself?? Now Ziering himself may be a competent hair transplant doctor but once he starts opening up all these clinics, and it sound as if they are expanding, he has very little conrol over the quality of the results produced. Caveat emptor with all hair clinics.
  17. It's kind of like asking who's the better b-ball player, Kobe or MJ? I'd say you probably can't go wrong with either one. Go with the clinic that gives you the best vib.
