  1. No they are photos at almost 5 weeks I have just posted them in my original thread to ensure continuity.
  2. Almost 5 week update and I think post shedding, the hair growing in the photos is mostly grafts from previous procedures. I have had quite a few nasty pimples particularly in the donor area on the left side of my head. I am a little concerned about the donor area as I think it looks patchy below the scar but could also be because I need to equalise the hair growth on the nape of the neck by buzzing down. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks
  3. Guys Thank You all for your condolences. In response to some of the questions FUE into the scar was not a problem a little more sore than if it was non scar tissue but sleep wise I avoided sleeping on the back of my head for a couple of days only, Dr Devroye said I shouldn't be too concerned about it after that period. I will post some more before pictures when I recieve them from Dr Devroye but I do have some on my blog on this site in the meantime. Everything seems to be healing well my biggest concern now is returning to work in a few days and having to explain my shaved head to colleagues.
  4. This is a post to recount my recent procedure of 1757 FUE (2962 hairs) with Dr Devroye in early Feb 2012 this is my fourth procedure following 2 FUT and 1 previous FUE the previous procedures had left me with what I considred to be an unrefined hairine and poor density so this procedure with Dr Devroye was a repair to deal primariy with those concerns. After visiting Dr Devroye in Oct 2011 and discussing my concerns he said he could take approx 1500 grafts to deal with my concerns and I was reassured by his assessment and also reputation on these forums. 700 single hair grafts were placed in the hairline and a few poor grafts from previous FUTs were also removed. I also had 200 grafts placed in the scars. I had originally booked for the end of Dec 2011 but I had to cancel at the last minute due to a death in the family and I must say that Dr Devroye and his team were massively understanding and supportive allowing me to reschedule the surgery for Feb 2012. I will add the photos and full graft breakdown from Dr Devroye once I recieve the information. The day with Dr Devroye went very smoothly and I was impressed by the dedication and meticulous approach of the whole team.

A brief history of my surgery journey. My first transplant was in 1996 with Norton which was a built on naivity and lack of knowledge, this procedure at best gave me 200-300 hundred grafts which were poorly placed and angled as well as clusters of mini grafts. At the time I still had sufficient native hair to cover this up but by 1999 this was no longer an option, so I visited Dr Farjo with whom I had a second FUT of 800 grafts to disguise the poor hairline. This provided a reasonable result for 5 years until I decided to pursue the FUE route via DHI with whom I had a "2000 hair" procedure to improve density and further refine the hairline. The outcome of this was reasonable but didn't produce the density required, which brings me up to date I was becoming more and more unhappy with my hairline which looked like a hairline of a 60 year old as opposed to someone in their early 40s. After visiting Dr Devroye in Oct 2011 and discussing my concerns he said he could take approx 1500 grafts to deal with my concerns and I was reassured by his assessment and also reputation on these forums. 6. Excellent result, good luck for January and Thanks for the advice about the blood tests
  7. Success! Went to GUM clinic today had tests done results by letter in a week. Moral of this story go straight to GUM dept as your likely to get messed around by GPs. Lesson learnt!
  8. So much for the honesty route GP said that they would not offer the blood tests as it is not a clinical indication I did say that I understood that it would be private and would pay but all they suggested was BUPA. Think I will need to change my GP practice so back to square one I have approached BUPA via the self pay GP services and waiting for them to come back with a quote.
  9. Really appreciate the replies guys. I think I will go down the honesty route with my GP.
  10. Hi all I am booked in for FUE with Dr Devroye in December and I am UK based he has asked that I have blood tests done for HIV, Hep B and C. Any advice on where I can get these done will my GP do this as it is a cosmetic procedure abroad. I do not necessarily want to get into discussing the reason why I need to the Blood tests with my GP so are there any other avenues in the UK to get these tests done other than via private online companies which see to charge around ?300-400 (way too much).
