  1. Hey orlhair, I am trying to decide whether or not to start proscar at the present moment. These lawsuits are freaking me out a bit, I must admit, but on the other hand lawsuits against drugmakers are so common place in the U.S. that you really have to wonder if it has any true merit. I occassionally have to get a steroid injection called Kenalog in order to control a very bad sinus condition I have. I did some research on the drug and from what I read on the internet you'd think you would die from taking it. I stumbled upon forum after forum with comments like "Stay away from this drug, it will ruin your life" and so on. It is difficult to filter out the anecdotal stories from the real evidence when trying to form an opinion. You mentioned you had some minor pain that went away. Are you having second thoughts about Propecia because of the lawsuit?? The thought of having to take propecia/proscar for the rest of your life is daunting really. The thought of having a transplant and then having the hair on your sides and back fall out leaving you with a weird looking island of hair on the top of your head is an equally daunting proposition. Yikes...
  2. I understand that many side effects present shortly after starting the drug and then subside within a short time. Is that the experience many users have found to be true? Have any of you stopped taking propecia because of the impending lawsuits against Merck?
  3. This is confusing the hell out of me. I am thinking about doing a repair and was told that I should probably be taking Propecia. The thought of permanent side effects from the drug is sobering to say the least. I understand that on the warning label Merck had in Europe they warned of permanent sexual side effects yet they did not include that warning for America. The fact that the website is still down is very disconcerting and I really don't know what to think.
  4. Make the short drive up to Vancouver and visit Hasson&Wong. Be careful with Bosley they are not known for great results.
  5. Looks like it has filled in nicely. The density at 6 months looks like it matches the rest of your head which is great news. You only have more growth and maturing to do! Are you trimming the first .5" or so of your hairline so you get a nice straight appearance to your hairline??
  6. It feels good to vent doesn't it? Do your homework, visit clinic web sites, talk to as many people as you can and make a calm and informed decision about how best to deal with your situation. As down as you are feeling now, it is nothing compared to how you'd feel if you get bad work done and the mental anguish that accompanies that. I speak from experience so trust me on that. It may feel as if things are in emergency mode but they are not. This forum is a great place to start forming some rational opinions. Best wishes.
  7. Unless there is a Ron or a Paul before that Shapiro keep looking my friend!
  8. Yeah man you're going to be one happy camper, can't wait to see how it comes out. Keep updating ur pics.
  9. Careful in the gym you want to protect your investment and a strectched scar would not be good.
  10. Interesting. Because your father has the same exact thing going on with his hairline, and since you've had it your entire life, I would think it was some kind of genetic blip going on. It could just be a very irregular hairline that is completely normal for you. See what the dermatologist has to say but if it really bothers you a small FUE session would be really easy to do. Good luck amigo. P.S. At 28 you're not a kid anymore!
  11. Hey Dude congrats on a really great procedure. That is some impressive coverage for the amount of grafts. Considering it looks like you blow dry your hair so it basically stands straight up, the pic from the top is extremely impressive as you can't see any scalp through your hair at all. Excellent result, way to go!
  12. Both!! You're both looking gangsta! Lol including your pixelated face...
  13. Until they come up with something else to grow or stop the loss of hair there is nothing. You could try biotin, msm, other supplements, dht blocking shampoos etc...
  14. Congrats looks like things are starting to happen. Grow well.
  15. Congrats everything is looking great!! Look forward to your updates.
  16. Welcome pace. Take your time and do your research, this forum is a very good place to start and to gain knowledge. You can scan through 1000's of posts on the subjects that are important to you. You'll find that there are some differences bewteen FUT and FUE in terms of yield, price, time etc... The FUT scars that docs are able to provide now-a-days shouldn't have you out of work for long as hair as short as around 1" or less can provide coverage easily. If you want to shave your head at some point then by FUE is the way to go, if not consider FUT. Good luck!
  17. Thanks NHP!! I am impressed by Dr. Rahal all the time, it's so great that he was able to give you one new scar. Relax and enjoy your stay at Foxbar. Looking forward to seeing pics when you post.
  18. Congrats NHP, sounds awesome you must be stoked!! As a fellow "repair needed" patient who also has two scars that need to be dealt with is there any chance you could describe how those previous scars were positioned on your head, how far apart they were spaced, etc... If I could get my two scars down into one I would be ecstatic. Rest up and heal well.
  19. Congrats, that's amazing. Your hair must grow fast as it looks like it grew a lot in 2 weeks..
