I had a hair Transplant from Dr. Dorin of True & Dorin on 9/6/2011 to restore my hairline. This was due to years of suffering from traction alopecia. The pics attached shows my progression thus far (4 mos post op as of 1/6/2012).

I hear ya. I've had to hide my hairline for over 10 years. Such a shame because people say I look nice with my hair pulled back. You're welcome hon, keep us posted on your progress as well :-) -

Actually for the first week I just wore a head wrap tied in a bun. Everybody at work thought it was just part of my fashion statement lol. But yes I do wear half wigs now that the hair is starting to grow in. I actually feel comfortable pulling my hair back in a ponytail now :-) -

You're welcome. I'll post more pics in the coming months. -
Hello, So its been 4 months since my HT with Dr. Dorin on 9/6/11. I have a lot of acne only on the left side of my hairline. But aside from that I m very happy with the results thus far.

Dr. Dorin did my HT. Although I am only 2 months post op so far so good. I highly recommend. -
Thanks for the comments guys. Yes traction alopecia is unfortunate and preventable. But to be honest, as a hispanic/african american woman, it really is set in our culture to braid, relax, and pull our hair tight from an early age. My mom has been braiding my hair for as long as i can remember. I think i got my first relaxer at age 9. By the time i found out what traction alopecia was, i had already experienced permanent hair loss. So sad because if i had known better i would have done better. But i know now. I know that i must change my hair habits so that i can keep my hair this time around.
