  1. Congrats Dr Hasson is among the very best in the world, if not the best. Good luck growing it out and look forward to seeing your updates.
  2. Congrats Sam you're looking good and ahead of schedule actually. Dr. Konior is on my short list so I appreciate reading about your experience with him. Good luck!!
  3. He has good hair characteristics that made those grafts go a long way. Nice job Dr. K. Wow 72 years old!! Good for him. That has to be the most "mature" patient to have ever gotten a transplant... Just a side note. The cleanness of this work is incredible, no visible blood oozing out as is common with many procedures.
  4. You bottled and blagged it eh? You look like you have healed up very nicely! The FUE into your scar looks very promising. Good luck healing up and grow well. Look forward to seeing your progress.
  5. Freedom of speech is slightly different north of the border eh? Strange that one province can impose this on their citizens and stranger that BC is not affected. Dr, Rahal has lots of fans so they will hopefully keep his name relevant in the community.
  6. Congrats to this patient, I think he looks very good. As others have said time will tell on the SMP but at this point it's thumbs up. Great option for the guys that feel the need to shave.
  7. You never know for sure until you consult with a top doc. It sounds like you probably will not be a candidate but who knows?
  8. 1. 1/2" or so in the back will usually cover up a good scar. Depending on the coarsness of ones hair its is possible to go shorter. 2. Wet hair will make it easier for the scar to be visible. Again depending on the coarsness and density of one's hair this will vary from person to person. 3. After the scar heals it will not be able to be felt or noticed by someone running their hands through your hair.
  9. I would say most of the top docs like Hasson, Wong, SMG, Konior etc... all highly recommend doing laxity exercises. If I were scheduled for surgery I would be doing them heavily. Actually I am not scheduled and I am doing them anyway for future consideration. Who was the Doc? If that's how he feels about the scalp exercises it shouldn't be any problem discussing it here.
  10. 4% side effect rate? That means 96% of all patients don't experience any side effects.
  11. 7 days seems way too soon. If you get any cut on your body is it totally healed up in 7 days or is it still pink and healing up? Better to err on the side of caution as most in this post have pointed out.
  12. Yes I agree that a dedicated section to repair strategy would be a benefit to the community. There are different strategies that can be employed for repair and it would help those of us in need to gather info. maybe a repair/scar revison section?
  13. Those 2300 grafts should make a world of difference, I wish you the best of luck in growing it out. You mentioned you had 3 previous procedures done, did you have just one scar? I am in a similar situation as I have had 2 previous procedures that were unsatisfactory. If I could get around 2-2500 grafts I think it would make a significant improvement for me as well. My problem is that I have 2 scars that limit my donor. Anyway gl!
  14. Glad to hear you stepped up to the big leagues by choosing Dr. K. after being struck in the minors with Bosley. The thing that has always struck me with Dr. K is that he does everything himself. I know that he has an assistant working by his side but really he does it all. Talk about quality control wow!! Evidently fatigue doesn't seem to be an issue which is almost hard to believe, I can't imagine doing that intricate work for 12 hours in a row... my back hurts just thinking about it. I have personally met with both Dr. K and Dr. Ron Shapiro. I find it hard to believe that if you scheduled a consult with Dr. Shapiro that he only spent 5 minutes with you unless there were some type of special circumstances. Dr. K will spend as much time as the patient wants and seems to enjoy the process. I got the same feeling from Dr. Shapiro. The thing that I liked with Dr. Shapiro was the fact that he drew in a proposed hairline on my head so it was easier to visualize how things would go. Congrats and I look forward to seeing some pics.
  15. Much much better than the fauxhawk plus it makes your hair appear to be much thicker due to the shingling affect. Definitely more mature but you can always spike it up on the weekends... Thumbs up for sure!
  16. I can understand the reluctance to use Propecia but not Minoxidil. The Minoxidil is so simple to use and there are no side effects I can't see why you would pass on it. You say you're not looking for a short term fix but as other posters have pointed out we do a lot of things that are "short term fixes." Putting deodorant on is a short term fix but we don't want to be stinky so we do it!! Anyway good luck, I would definitely continue to use the Minoxidil. =)
  17. When you say your first "round" do u mean your first 90 day cycle? If you completed the 90 days then congrats it is a tough program! I have been waiting for a rib cage injury to heal to start the program... it is taking forever. How many pull ups were you able to do before the program amd how many can you do now?
  18. hey orlhair congrats on your decision, I always thought your result was awesome as is!!
  19. Not the best pics to judge by but from what I can see, it looks as if his results are very good, as usual, from Dr. Hasson.
  20. TTDS you are doing your homework and that is a very good thing, it sounds as if you will make an informed decision and are educating all of us in the process. I think you really need to see some patients in person to get an idea of how it looks. Pictures are one thing but seeing is believing so see if you can arrange it. One thing that really caught my eye is the fact that you were told that the greenish blue color that the ink will fade to will not look odd. I think it would look odd don't you? As you pointed out does the stubble on your face look bluegreen? Another thing is what happens once you start to age and you go a little or a lot grey? Are you going to have to dye your hair for he rest of your life? The fact that NHI didn't respond to your inquiry right away sounds a bit off putting to me also and someone should really be monitoring a Doc e-mails when he is out of town or an auto-reply at least should be sent. I have had similiar experiences with a few clinics and it inspires no confidence at all. You were going to let the hair on the top of you head grow out to see how that looked, how is that working out? Did you end up cutting it shorter on the sides and in the back? How is life without the hair piece?
