  1. It is totally up to you. Ideally you would want to shave to give the Doc the best chance at getting the angle of the recipient incision correct and also to avoid transection. Since it is a small procedure you could probably get away with not shaving without any great risk.
  2. I would call Dr. Lindsey as he is currently working on a case of vaguely similiar nature. The only time I have ever heard of people discussing their reduction, expansion, and flap type procedures has been in the context of the "bad old days" of hair restoration and being repaired out of desperation. Top clinics do not do these type of surgeries anymore. I think you are very lucky to be satisfied with what you had done and I would look into getting grafts implanted in your thinning areas and would not tempt fate with another flap type procedure.
  3. Who actually does the SMP at SMG? Alliterative no?
  4. You've had some growth for sure but it isn't that great at this point. The only thing to do is wait it out, we've seen many examples of late growers so I wouldn't give up hope by any means. I don't think you need to keep the doc's name secret until you are sure you have a failure on your hands. Better just to be upfront with your info.
  5. It is used as a last resort measure for repair patients and those whose donor areas are depleted.
  6. Good luck ej! Man what a long strange trip its been for you, look forward to updates.
  7. What happened they changed the law in Canada that didn't allow Dr. Rahal to post here?
  8. Does Dr. K do FUE at all? You make it sound as if he will if the patient really wanted it. The only draw back for Dr. K to do FUE would be the fact that he would undoubtedly do the extractions and the implanting himself. I'm thinking this would even tax his legendary stamina. You could always e-mail him and ask, he is diligent about answering his e-mails.
  9. Haha classic!! I didn't know Bosley had a clinic in Afghanistan!!
  10. Konior is a must see for anybody who resides in Chicago. Panine and Keller should be seen also considering they are so close by. SMG is a 7 hour ride away as is Rahal (approximately.) As others have said you can do a video consultation with anyone in the world and then go off of recommendations and published results. Do your research and good luck!
  11. Ok got it. That's is unusual I don't think I've ever seen something like that before. Good luck with your recovery, Dr. K is among the best in the biz I'm sure you will be thrilled with the outcome.
  12. Congrats on your procedure! What is going on there in the first inch or so of hairline? For some reason my comp won't allow me to enlarge these pics so I can't get a closer look, but it looks as if there are no grafts in that area. Am I seeing things?
  13. SMG has a great section about this in the education portion of their website: Issue of Naturalness
  14. It would take a massive amount of grafts to make a difference in your crown. Dr Wong is the man to see for crown work and I would consult with him and Joe Tillman for some realistic advice. Depending on the amount of grafts you have left I suspect the best that could be hoped for is to reduce the balding area in your crown. Scalp laxity exercises can improve strip harvesting. Your pics aren't very good but you have your hair combed forward in a Cesar style which gives the crown the least flattering appearance. Have you ever tried growing your hair out a little and combing it back over your crown? That might make what you have go a little farther.
  15. Yes I see what you mean. It looks like you have multiple hair grafts in your hairline and actually they look kind of like the old mini grafts and not follicular unit grafts. 600 grafts is a very small amount especially considering it was in 2 sessions. Now I bet your hair looks better in normal lighting but I would say that you will probably need more work done to get to a better looking appearance. Good luck I would go to a different surgeon in the future.
  16. Beautiful, natural looking work as usual from SMG. Isn't it interesting how the same clinics continue to get the best results time and time again. Some temple point work would be the icing on the cake for this patient.
  17. This is what H&W is all about. One pass, completely transformative work. I'm bowing down right now.
  18. Yup I remember his 6 month(?) result. His hair looks good shorter or a little bit longer. Nice work as usual.
  19. With your hair grown out just a little bit you can not see the scar at all. I think it looks better grown out a little anyway.
  20. Good luck your work looks great. 3 months out of the sun is a small pittance to pay for a great result!!
