  1. You have very good hair considering you've been losing for over 10 years. Lots of people I know lose it all in less time than that. That is a huge advantage in your favor. Your crown still looks to be pretty solid, so I think you have pretty good genetics, all things considered. Dr. Feller is top notch, and is excellent at hairlines. This time next year you won't even think about your hair loss. How many grafts did he quote you?
  2. Thanks Bill for adding these forums. Now it's easier to find these topics as they are all in one place now.
  3. Titrating the dose when first starting Finasteride is a good way to reduce side effects. Like with most medications, side effects disappear after taking the medication for a while.
  4. Diffuse thinning means that the complete area that is prone to male pattern baldness is miniaturizing. If you had a previous transplant, it sure did blend well.
  5. Congratulations on choosing Dr. Farjo. How many grafts did you end up getting?
  6. I've read mixed reviews about Care Credit. It is a credit card with low/no interest for the first year or two. Lots of people use it and lots of physicians on here accept it.
  7. Finasteride is supposed to dramatically reduce shock loss. Are you on it? If not, it may help you recover sooner!
  8. Once a day is still way better than not at all. Topical Minoxidil has a half life of about 22 hours, so applying a thorough dose at night should give you some benefit.
  9. 4rx is a very trustworthy site for ordering Finasteride and Dutasteride. It's probably the most common site I've seen mentioned on hair loss forums.
  10. Look out L.A.!! Maybe you can clue all those rich actors in on a good doctor and help them avoid getting butchered.
  11. Dr. Glenn Charles and Dr. Paul Rose are the only two I would trust in the whole state of Florida.
  12. I don't know how I missed this post! You have done an excellent job documenting with photos. This surgeons work looks as refined as any. You do look like you are having some extremely early growth! I'm glad more and more surgeons in the far East are being discovered. It's not as easy for someone in that area to find a good surgeon like it is in America.
  13. That looks like a pic from one of those miniaturization test cameras! I've never used Toppik, but from what I've read it should wash out without too much trouble. I have read, however, that having Toppik and Dermatch left on the scalp can hinder hair transplant results, so make sure you get this situation under control if you decide to go for surgery.
  14. Proscar is 5 mg of Finasteride. It was introduced in 1992 for BPH. They discovered it also stopped/slowed hair loss and sometimes regrew hair. A new 1 mg. dose was formulated and introduced under the name Propecia in 1997. Both Proscar and Propecia are the same drug (Finasteride), just different strengths. Proscar is generic and Propecia is not. Propecia will usually run you at the very least $60 a month. You can get 30 generic Proscar tablets for $9 at Walmart, then split them into 4 equal pieces. That makes your monthly average about $2.25 a month. Any doctor can prescribe you Proscar, just tell them why you are asking for it and how you plan to use it. If you would rather order online, although it will cost you more, a lot of people use 4rx pharmacy. And as far as Minoxidil is concerned, the 5% foam is loads better than the liquid. There are some custom mixed high concentrations sold online, but they are very expensive.
  15. Like Abbie said, he must be happy with the result because he has ample donor hair for future surgeries. The patient being happy is all that counts. If I came from where he was before to a hairline like that with complete coverage, I'd be happy also.
  16. Dr. Friedman has seemed to find some positive laser treatment results with his patients. What confuses me are the negative results from other top notch physicians. I wish we knew what was the truth!
  17. NHP, isn't Dr. Rahal as great as he seems to be??!! His results always show early. I know your confidence is over the moon right now!
  18. Glad to see you are doing well, NHP! Please give us new photos when you get a chance.
  19. Even people who are not balding at all can have some form of see through appearance if the light is harsh enough.
  20. Great to have you back Muso! I was wondering where you went after your HT.
  21. You want to wait 10-12 months before a second surgery. That way the surgeon can see where all the new follicles are and won't damage them.
  22. Dr. Cooley has the fountain of youth. He changed this patient back into a teenager! Outstanding work as usual, Dr. Cooley!
  23. Congrats on finally getting through it! That certainly is some densely packed grafting there. You will see a full result next summer and I think you will be able to put all of your hair worries behind you. The rest of your hair looks safe for now.
  24. This is excellent for only 1450 grafts! Very natural and undetectable.
  25. He used to be here every day. Hard to believe he has something else to do!
