  1. I would rather shave down once and do it over 2 days. I don't like the idea of going back into an area after only a 6 month period. There could be dormant follicles in the recipient area that could get damaged.
  2. I used to have what you had. It certainly sounds like sebhorrhea to me. I'm surprised Nizoral did not work, but I suggest Neutrogena T/Gel. It's what got rid of it for me.
  3. I believe very few approved surgeons on this site charge for consults. The only one I know of for sure is Dr. Bernstein, who charges $285. $500 would be way out of line!
  4. PERFECT RESPONSE! Excellent! That is pretty much how all things are as far as high school, etc. are. This is a textbook example of how I felt after high school. Luckily, nobody found out anything until hair transplantation, or DHT blockers. These days I feel lucky enough that noone has noticed any different, as I am in much better shape than I was 2-1/2 years ago. I consider myself very lucky.
  5. Dr. Wong looks like he didn't even touch your scalp, it's healed that well.
  6. Asian patients are no different than caucasian. Any good hair restoration surgeon will do a good job. African American hair is the tough one because the hair keeps curling under the scalps surface. Being in Tennessee, you will have to travel a bit to find a good one.
  7. So it's OK for her to get a boob job, lipo, etc., but all you want is a little hair and you get attacked? This is why guys try to keep their hair transplants quiet from everybody. It seems as if hair restoration is still the only plastic surgery that has a stigma. Everyone else talks freely about all the butt implants, boob jobs, etc. I guess because hair loss has been a natural male problem since the dawn of time, while everything else is just an "improvement" on what you already have. I'm glad you shared this story. It's going to be interesting.
  8. Thank you for taking the time to do a write up about Dr. Lindsey. I personally believe he is one of the best HT surgeons in America, not only with his skills, but his ethics.
  9. I'm glad you took the time to write about your experience with Dr. Wesley. I've been very impressed with his work and his research since being approved by the HTN.
  10. That's funny as heck right there! It's also all that I want, more hair than my friends.
  11. This is a rare situation. You don't see many hair transplant failures from the prescreened doctors recommended on this site. I hope they can figure out what happened.
  12. Dr. Lindsey in Mclean, Va. is one of the best their is. He has shown very impressive results on this forum. Dr. Vogel is good also, but he doesn't post many results. Dr. Lindsey posts one or two results every week. I also think Dr. Vogel limits his sessions to 2000-2500 grafts.
  13. This is beautiful work! It's very natural looking and dense also. Dr. Wesley continues to impress me.
  14. I have high blood pressure, so I talked my doctor into oral Spironolactone as a diuretic. It's doing something, because my skin isn't as oily as it was, which should be a sign of lowered androgens. Dr. Reddy's makes pretty good pharmaceuticals. Do you get your generic Avodart online?
  15. I'm glad to see you keeping up with this thread! Anti depressants are notorious for causing hair loss. I would never take them. I've had doctors try to tell me I am depressed when I am not (I am a chronic pain patient). Almost every person I know who takes anti depressants has thinning hair, women included. Even though you were born with a receeded hairline, your hair seems to be holding on pretty good, I think. You've thinned a tad, but considering the timeline your hair loss is very slow. Are you on Finasteride? It's amazing!
  16. Also, starting Finasteride at the first signs of loss is your best chance at stopping or slowing things early.
  17. You look like the type to respond to Finasteride very well. Have you considered it? It is the most important weapon against hair loss.
  18. WentworthMiller1992, I can vouch for both the medications known as Propecia (Finasteride), and Avodart (Dutasteride). I've been on Finasteride for 2-1/2 years, and Avodart for 2. I've had no side effects whatsoever, or any other bad health problems. What I HAVE had is some good hair success! Since the day I started the hair loss meds, my hair has just got better. After about 6 months on Finasteride, I started Avodart (Dutasteride). I've had amazing success as far as no further loss, and I've had slow but definite regrowth over the 2 year time frame since. In that time frame, I've never had any problems sexually with my wife. And I'm 41 years old. You are half my age, so you will probably have even less problems with the meds. I hope you decide to go forward with meds as far as your treatment plan, as it is the best prevention against further loss and helps during a hair transplant also! Good luck!
  19. I have no clue what has happened to you! First off, I've never seen any hair loss treatment work within one week. You need to give any hair loss treatment at least 6 months to show results. It sounds like you may have something other than genetic male pattern baldness. I've been on Avodart for two years and have had good luck with it. I hope the same happens for you. Are you using brand name or generic? Generic is only available from foreign countries and is very hit and miss as far as whether you are getting the real deal.
  20. This patient sure doesn't look that old! If he is concerned enough about his hair to use laser therapy I am very surprised he doesn't take advantage of the great benefits of Finasteride and Minoxidil. These are some of the best results I've seen from laser therapy! How often does a patient get this kind of regrowth?
  21. Cardel, great to see you man! I'm interested to hear your story!
  22. This is the first time I've seen donor grafts from an African American patient. That is some serious curl under the skin! Very nice job for such a small graft total, and the healing was excellent. Also your presentation is excellent and thorough.
  23. Beautiful work! Very natural, and great coverage for the number of grafts used.
