  1. Always give meds a year to work. Hair follicles are in various cycles and it takes a while to see how well the medications will work.
  2. That is a really good first pass, Dr. Devroye! I am amazed at the density. He has 2.5 hairs per graft, which helps make up for the fine hair. Do you know if he plans on a second surgery? I think that would really thicken things up.
  3. It's never too late to start a regimen of Finasteride and Minoxidil.
  4. Drive safe and best of luck!!
  5. The hairline is killer. I would rather have a hairline like that and slightly lower density elsewhere than a high receeded looking hairline. Framing the face is the most important part. This looks like the hairline of a 16 year old.
  6. A lot of people over on hairlosshelp use it and seem to know a little bit about it.
  7. Please don't take this wrong, but I don't think I've ever seen someone lose that much hair in a 5-6 year span. That is aggressive MPB, and I am sure that your surgeon is being careful seeing that you are still very young. Later on, once you've established a pattern, he may find that you have enough donor left to lower the hairline.
  8. While I'm not very fond of laser therapy, Dr. Friedman on this site has posted a couple of impressive results.
  9. That is a kickin' hairline Dr. Lindsey designed for you! Dr. Lindsey has always impressed me, as a surgeon and as a human being. You can't get any better than him. The fun is just starting.
  10. That's odd. I've had nothing but good results with Dutasteride. I was on Finasteride for about 8 months before adding Dutasteride, and I had better results.
  11. At only 6 months he already has good coverage. He is well on his way to an excellent result! I like the fact that he got good coverage over the whole scalp.
  12. This is what you call a natural result! The hairline design is beautiful, and the whole area is very dense for a fairly small procedure.
  13. I believe Dr. Umar is the man for you. I've seen cases worse than yours turned around by his skill.
  14. And according to Dr. Leonard, he could IMMEDIATELY resume training for football, including wearing a helmet. WTF??
  15. This is looking amazing so far! Those 1680 grafts went a long way, as did the Propecia, in restoring what looks like almost a full head of hair.
  16. Spanker, we are talking about Dr. Konior here! If I had an appointment for one week from now, I would be wishing that it were one week from now ! Seriously, I consider him one of the top 5 in the business. He is one of the few recommended physician on this site that I know of who responds to every email personally, and consistently. I've read countless testimonials about how he is in the surgery suite more than most doctors are and placing grafts personally. I think you are in the best of hands, Spanker!
  17. There is Dr. Madhu and Dr. Palakurthi, but they are in different parts of India.
  18. The diet has a lot of proof here. There's the proof that very very few Japanese men lost hair until after WW2. During that time they adopted a lot of our Western diet and ever since the number of balding Japanese men is many times more than it was. This was an article on the Balding Blog.
  19. Dr. Umar is one of the few surgeons that uses nape hair. This looks great! It is very natural looking.
  20. As much hair as you have I don't see why you would have ever needed a hat! You have great hair, and it will really look amazing once Dr. Fellers work grows out.
  21. I've found that taking a 50 mg. Zinc supplement really helps out.
  22. While the crown usually responds to meds faster than the rest of the scalp, it responds the slowest during a hair transplant. You are looking great for 4 months. You also had Dr. Charles, whom I consider one of the best. You have nothing to worry about!
  23. Nizoral works great with Rogaine. It provides a nice clean scalp for the Rogaine to penetrate, and there is some evidence that Nizoral blocks DHT on the scalp. Propecia is the best weapon against hair loss. I'm sorry to hear you can't take it because of side effects.
  24. I think a $75-$100 fee for a consult is very fair if the patient is serious about getting treatment. $200-$250 is really about right for what a specialist bills my insurance when I see a specialist. Do these fees apply towards their hair transplant surgery?
