    Can't go wrong with either SMG or Rahal. Both do consistently stellar work. Definitely meet with both to get the vibe of each clinic.

    They are definitely worth a try. Side effects are only experienced in a very rare - but loud - minority of patients. Some posters have held onto their hair for another 14 years after starting it. So it obviously works for a lot of people.

    When I started propecia when I was 25, I noticed a dull pain in the testicular area for the first couple weeks. I almost quit. But I stayed on it and the pain went away quickly. Never had a side effect in 6 years since. So maybe give it a few more days... or try a smaller dosage. I hear that .50mg of fin is about 80% as effective as 1mg of fin.

    True that. Especially since the first 5 months post-op typically suck. :cool: And weening off of those concealers is like breaking a drug habit. Tough stuff. I've had many relapses... Stay the course hairthere! You can do it!

    Awesome. SMG will set you straight! I think it is just really hard to construct a hairline with concealers. Much easier in the crown, based on my own experience.

    It doesn't appear that you have much hair in that spot so toppik probably wouldn't work very well for you there... especially since it is at the hairline. But I could be wrong, it doesn't hurt to try. Also look into dermmatch. I think medium brown is the color for you. You do have a good head of hair and seem to be an excellent candidate for HT surgery. Think about it.

    You are 20. Enough with the herbal stuff. Get on finasteride ASAP. It works very well for younger men. You should also look into Rogaine Foam - active ingredient is minoxidil. Those are the only two PROVEN ways to fight hair loss.

    Thanks Athena! I have a question. It appears that Dr. Meshkin uses a larger punch for the recipient region grafts. This is most apparent in the immediate post-op pic of the crown. I also noticed this with futbol9's pictures. Are these just larger grafts; i.e. 3 and 4 hair units? What size instrument does he typically use for the slits in the recipient region? Again, this patient grew very well in the end and the results look simply excellent. I'm just curious about his approach.

    Dude, whatever you do don't just to go to someone ASAP just becuz you can afford them. I made that mistake with my first transplant and regret it. Right now, just save your money and research for a couple years - you're only 24. Get and fin, shave your head, and study patient photographs. Research, research, research!

    hairthere, Lookin' mighty fine there! A definite improvement from your pre-op pic. And I would never be able tell that you have transplanted hair. Of course, your hair characteristics have something to do with that. But it also says a lot of Dr. Feller to dramatically improve the situation that Dr. Karamikian left you with. Well done. Cant wait for pics in another 6 months! I know it's too early... but are you thinking ahead for more work or are you done for the time being?

    Spile you should start your own thread. You'll get better support from the guys here. We just need more pics, pre-op, immediate post-op, graft numbers before we make any kind of conclusion for you. Stay in touch with your doc! He'll be there for ya!

    If toppik can stay on during a ten round fight I guarantee you that dermmatch can stay on during a soccer match.
