  1. Everyone will give you their own favorite doctor and their opinions are totally valid. But the most important opinion is the one you come to on your own. So research your butt off on these forums and you'll develop a discerning eye with HT's. You will end up with a list of fav's and take it from there. Everyone is different - level of loss, type of hair, expectations, cosmetic aesthetics, etc. It is the patient's responsibility to find the doctor that best suits their own goals. But after spending some time on here you will recognize a few names that keep delivering amazing results.
  2. Diffuse thinners in the donor region should be very cautious. First of all, the weakened hair might not even grow when transplanted after the trauma of surgery. Secondly, there is a risk of shock loss in the donor area that could be permanent because the hair is in a vulnerable state. So in the end, you almost have more to lose than to gain - a visible scar and no hair on top. That said, Jotronic is right. Actual in person consultations result in a far more accurate diagnosis of your hair loss. Get hair miniaturization mapping done in the donor region. But if a clinic is turning you down for surgery then you should take that seriously.
  3. simplycomplicated, I think the work looks very good. It is very clean and refined and I also like the strategy Dr. Madhu had with your transplantation. Now this doesn't guarantee a great result but it certainly looks promising. So if I were you I would be very optimistic. 3,400 grafts should have a major impact on your look. For 26, you seemed to have a pretty advanced pattern so staying on Fin is pretty important. You might have to go in for more work later on but I still think this procedure will be a fantastic start for you. Heal well and grow well! And keep us posted on monthly basis!
  4. The drawn hair line is aggressive but I think you can afford to be given that your hair loss is not very advanced. But understand the lower the hairline and temple corners are the more grafts you will need and the less dense it will appear. 2,500 seems just right. Glad you are propecia. You have a lot of hair left to keep.
  5. Like Sparky said, it can be done. Like Corv said, it's not a good surgical strategy.
  6. Regrowth is possible with Fin. Stabilization is more likely. I regrew a little in the crown and bridge initially. Now at this point, going over 5 years, it's just stabilization.
  7. I'm telling you that dermmatch hangs on quite well in sweat. Now with shampoo it's a different story. There's just no way that he's not wearing it. There just hasn't been enough time since his HT.
  8. Corv, I sure hope that those hairs are transplanted hairs if you know what I mean. Good post. I would say that even 10 months post-op from your first transplant is early in terms of maturation of the hair. Mine kept on changing in texture even up to 18 months post-op.
  9. Athena, I would say that this is a great result! In the pictures his hair is damp and I bet it looks even fuller when dry. Would you happen to have any immediate post-op pics and a graft break down? Again, great result especially for 2,000 grafts.
  10. Congrats Southbeacharchi! Please keep us posted with your progress. You are right in that we need more Dr. Keller patients posting on here. The work looks good. Heal well, grow well.
  11. Yes to the above post. I've had numbness last almost 5 months with some of my last transplants. I'm still numb above my donor strip and I'm about 7 weeks post-op now. Just roll with it.
  12. Doctors usually prefer toppik or nanogen since they are just fibers attaching themselves to the hair follicles. Though some fibers inevitably trickle down to the scalp they are not rubbed on with an applicator like dermmatch.
  13. That is definitely concealer. I see the shade by his hairline. And it's two months, no way he has hair like that now. I've played some pick up basketball with concealer and the sweat doesn't really do too much to it. It stays on quite well. Now if Rooney was playing a soccer game in the rain than that's a different story.
  14. Congrats on #2 Corv! Going conservative this time around was a good decision. The area that was transplanted was small so you didn't need to break the (donor) bank on this round. And besides, totaling up the 2 procedures you have used 3K grafts on the front. That is plenty! The work looks clean and refined. I think this one will do it for you! And welcome back, btw.
  15. You have healed very well futbol. You are exactly where you need to be at 2 months. Keep posting pics in the coming months!
  16. You'll get a variety of opinions from docs on this one. The most common one you'll hear is that after 10-12 days or so, when the scabs eventually fall out. And make sure you wash it out the dermmatch at night. Other docs believe it could possibly slow down growth or affect yield and to wait at least 6 months post-op before applying dermmatch. They recommend toppik or nanogen instead since it is not rubbed on the scalp. You make the call.
  17. Both work. But if you start using both at the same time how do you know which medicine is doing what for you? I say give Finasteride a year and see what it does for your hair and then add the Rogaine Foam to see if gives additional benefit. Of course, it wouldn't hurt starting both at once either... Your call!
  18. Looking awesome Stingray. I'm jealous of your crown!
  19. Othersyde, Well done man, well done. That's a good style for you too. Good work Dr. Gabel!
  20. You can't go wrong with Hasson & Wong. Hey Jotronic, you like that line? . Good marketing, eh? Yes, they deliver great work for sure. I would consult with other top docs too to see if there is one who you really click with.
  21. True. Down to a buzz cut nothing will completely hide the donor scar and even some FUE scars. Though SMP is also a possibility for those with the shaven down look. But if you are going to shave then you shouldn't get a strip procedure done in the first place. The best route might be FUE for guys preferring this style.
  22. Starting off with a half dosage of 1.25mg might not be a bad idea. But really when you cut the pills you rarely get the exact 1.25 dosage. Some days I probably take a .70mg and other's maybe 1.70mg. It all balances out in the long run since it keeps the medicine in my blood stream. There have been smaller studies that show a .50mg of fin achieves the same hair benefit of the 1mg pill.
  23. There's been many failures for sure. I would check out some of Dr. Umar's BHT work in the scar. Controversial and inconsistent, yes. But there's been a handful of home run's. Again, hopefully the scar heals well enough to the point you don't need any corrective work even with a short cut.
  24. I would personally do a scar revision first if the scar didn't turn out to your liking. But FUE's in the scar can help diminish the its appearance. Nothing will completely take it away. Although you could also look into SMP (scalp micro-pigmentation) to disguise it. Again, no perfect options but options nonetheless.
