  1. I've never had that happen to me or heard of that happening to anybody else. Maybe some scabs came off prematurely and new ones formed in their place?
  2. Great looking work there Dr. Simmons and I love the new hair style for this patient!
  3. He's a lucky guy. He seems to have a fair, pale complexion like me but doesn't have any residual redness. Can't wait to see his results in a few months!
  4. There could be a conflict of interest, no doubt. But I've been here long enough to see some long time recommended docs removed because their results have not been great. So while the people behind the site have a financial incentive to recommend as many docs as possible here, they must also maintain the site's credibility with the patients. Otherwise, why would a doctor want to be recommended on here in the first place? This is actually true for some docs. Some very qualified docs chose not to be a part of the HTN for various reasons; some being the constant evaluation of their work, the pre-screening, the fee, and other things I can't think of at the moment. But that is their own choice and doesn't necessarily reflect poorly on the site.
  5. ahairdown... the moderators, Falc (Bill), and Pat the Publisher have never hidden the fact that doctors pay to be recommended on this network. How else could they keep up a site of this magnitude up and running and sustain it? Not to mention protect themselves from lawsuits from Armani?
  6. Well said SkinUpPinUp. Now if he was going after Pats and the Armani clinic I would understand. But Spex and Feller have long established their credibility in the HT industry and on this forum. I think this community needs posters like corv... he was an asset to this forum no doubt... just without the not-so-subtle biases against a particular clinic.
  7. Looks much better. I'm sure that was a traction alopecia case. Am I correct? And if so, is the patient willing to change her style to avoid more of it in the future?
  8. Corv did contribute here quite a bit and was often very helpful. It was also obvious he had a quite thing against Feller. Was he given a warning by the moderators? Far more prolific posters have been banned in the past.
  9. ahairdown is right to point out the convenience of living close to the doc in case complications arise. Just remember that the most important part of the HT process is the actual procedure itself. Anyone really can remove the staples... heck, Bill (Falc) actually removed them himself once and many others have their wives or girlfriends do it. My first procedure was done by a local doc and I regret going to him (and he was once recommended on this site!). Being close to him didn't help matters at all. So bottom line: do your research!
  10. Thanks Rachmunas4life! @ profoam... That seems to be the going rate for Dr. Ron. I'm not completely sure but I believe Dr. Paul is slightly cheaper. I got an extra 300 hundred grafts from my first procedure with them at no extra charge. The most recent procedure we fell one graft short of the goal of 2,000. Dr. Paul joked he should have split the two haired graft to reach the magic number.
  11. Looks like you are where you need to be at 3 months. The shed could be from the fin if you just started it. Or it could be shock loss. But the good news is that you should start growing soon. Good luck!
  12. Cool. I've tried that but I always wake up with a kink in my neck. Happy healing and looking forward to seeing your pics.
  13. Back to the basics: 1000 grafts FUE is a small session. It looks like most if not all of the grafts grew. I personally would have done a strip session if I were Jesse but to each his own. It also looks like he had more loss. Within 10 months this is entirely possible. As for the correspondence between Dr. Feller and the patient, how the heck should I know what went down? Sure, Dr. Feller can come across as emotional in some posts on this forum but he has a great reputation for a reason. He may be bombastic at times but he is no charlatan. He's one of the good guys. All I got to go on is the numerous satisfied patients and great post-op pics that Dr. Feller has posted here for years. I do often see results on the forums where I think it looks good.. and yet the patient states they are dissatisfied. I think we need to emphasize realistic expectations a bit more... especially for small cases like 1000 grafts FUE.
  14. Hey 1531 FUT. Glad you are happy with the outcome. Did your transplanted hair change at all between 12 months and 17 months? Could we see some pics without gel too? Congrats!
  15. I'd give it at least one year... maybe longer like 18 months. It sort of depends on how you heal. If you do end up getting SMP done we would LOVE to see some pics and get some details about it. Keep us posted.
  16. How can you breathe sleeping face down?!? Do you have one of those chiropractic tables for a bed? That'd be nice.
  17. Thoughtsbecomingthings, Wow, this is the first time I've seen your results and I'm very impressed. Congrats! And wise move getting on Fin. You still have a good amount of native hair you'll be happy to keep.
  18. Wow! Don't stop! You might have that same head of hair in five years from now!
  19. It looks like very good work but could we have pics of hair without the band. It'd be nice to see how the patient style's his hair even if it does cover the hair line. Some immediate-post op pics, some overhead pics would be welcome as well. Thanks!
  20. Thanks for the kind words Profoam. Appreciate 'em! I wouldn't say I choose Paul over Ron. It was a matter of timing - i.e. schedules lining up. I had a very small window to work within at the time. But I also studied countless results from both of them and still could not tell a bit of difference between their work. They were both consistently outstanding and I felt comfortable with either one. The other nice thing about SMG was that I also had Dr. Ron's second opinion right there. It was cool to have them both looking at my hair/donor/etc. and discussing a plan of attack. So I'm glad I went with Dr. Paul but would have been just as happy with Dr. Ron. You'll be in good hands either way.
  21. Don't go to the best hair transplant specialist in Oklahoma, go to the best hair transplant specialist in the world. A less bombastic way of putting it would be "don't let travel determine who your HT doctor is". Research this site for months and pick out your favorite 5 and consult with them all.
  22. Terrific work! The irregularities in the hairline turned out very natural. And the bloody pics probably won't bother anyone here. We've been desensitized with Dr. Lindsey's open donor pics!
  23. Good question. Applying dermmatch without dampening the applicator brush? That's interesting. I always (1) wet the applicator first (2) apply the dermmatch and comb it through (3) let it air dry (4) and comb it through again. For me it's much easier to apply that way. However, if applying it dry works best for you and you like the look then I see no problem with that. Wind won't affect dermmatch but might mess up your hair if it's long enough. Rain won't affect dermmatch unless you are hanging outside during a torrential down pour. Running hands through it could get some of the color on the hands - but I always say that it's a hair paste/gel product. This excuse might not fly if you shave your head though. It really depends how long you keep it. I would give it a try and see for yourself because my hair is different than yours. I trailed and errored a lot of concealers before I settled on a routine. Hope this helps.
