  1. Yes, but do you have any native hair in the recipient area? The transplanted hairs would be short and stubby because they were trimmed. It depends what your doc did with the native hair (did you keep it long, did you shave it, did you have any there in the first place?). Pics would be helpful but I don't think brittle is something I've heard about before.
  2. The only commercials I really see are from Bosley and Hair Club. Stay away from them and all other HT chains. Commercials themselves don't make the clinic bad or good, it's the results. And Bosley and hair club do not produce consistent high quality results.
  3. No rush, no hurry. And don't let travel dictate who you go to. Trust me, go to only the best. As Spex would say, "Research, research, research!"
  4. I haven't really heard of hair being brittle after a transplant. Are you talking about your transplanted hair or native hair? Because the transplanted hair probably will be shedding soon. Aloe is not mandatory post-op but a lot of members feel it helps soothe the scalp after all the scabs have shed. I just like putting it on because my hair is shaved and my scalp feels good. It won't really do anything for the growth.
  5. Epstein was once recommended on here but had a falling out with the network. He had a number of poor cases come forward.
  6. You'll be fine. It gets worse before it gets better.
  7. To extract FUE grafts the donor hair would have to be trimmed - the area would be shaved. To place them the recipient area does not need to be shaved though it might make it easier for the technicians if it were.
  8. usedandabused, So I take it you didn't have a great experience with HT's. Well, my first one wasn't great so I can sympathize. I think the point of this thread is more social commentary than anything. How does our culture perceive - consciously or subconsciously - bald men? I was having a political discussion with a friend of mine tonight. She was talking about her governor disparagingly has "the stupid bald guy". Now what if someone who didn't approve of President Obama referred to him has "the stupid black guy"? That would rightly be deemed as a racist statement. But is it not still a form of prejudice when using derogatory remarks about a "stupid bald guy". I would not so jokingly call that baldist! You are taking the discussion in a different direction - how should we the hair-loss sufferer be responding to it? This is a good, fine, decent conversation to have.... just not the one I had in mind for this thread.
  9. I'd definitely use the search feature for these forums... but also check out the patient blog's for all these doctors as well to get a better idea. Surprised you didn't like Dr. Lindsey or Dr. Wong. They consistently produce great results.
  10. Yup, and you will be for about 3-4 more months too. Nothing unusual about that. It's called the doldrums for good reason.
  11. Just as awesome as the pics. You can see some thin regions here and there. But that's an absolute grand slam for one procedure. Great job.
  12. Cool dude. Looking every day is fine and well but the best way to determine progress is monthly pics. Hope you are doing that and you grow well this time around!
  13. Ah, I see. So then this is your third one then too, huh? Who's your doc? Do you got pics?
  14. Well, the tanning thing wasn't a great idea but if you didn't burn I don't think that would have destroyed the grafts. I hope that round 2 works out better for you! Did your doctor give you a reasonable explanation why the first procedure didn't turn out?
  15. I don't see why anyone would to be honest. I wouldn't worry about it. And Baldecristo, mistakes happen. I actually once posted my own post-op pics from SMG with my full face unblocked before realizing it. I haven't had anyone come up to me yet and say "Hey, I saw you on HTN the other day." I don't think it's too big a deal... especially since Dr. Feller took them down as soon as he was asked.
  16. I'm 16 days post-op Vinny so I'm right there with you. What kind of skin do you have? If it is fair, pale, easily irritable like mine you might want to go a little easy on the Rogaine so soon post-op. Maybe 1x a day.
  17. Sweet. Looking forward to seeing your next blog post bonker. Who knows... maybe after a few more weeks I'll give the foam another try.. 1x a day perhaps? I don't know... my skin didn't do so well with it last time and I don't want to get a reaction when I'm hoping new grafts will sprout.
  18. Use any styling products you like. 3 months out you are in the safe zone!
  19. The growth rate should be similar with multiple transplants. It was the same with my first two procedures and I will see what happens with the third.
  20. You are probably fine. Just experiencing a late shed on some of the HT hairs. Sometimes they can hang around longer than usual. If you are 9 weeks post-op there isn't really much you can do to negatively affect your future growth.
  21. Hmmm..... a hair shake. I tried ordering one of those at Dairy Queen last week. What's in it?!? Ice, milk, frozen yogurt, minox, finasteride, saw palmetto in a blender?
  22. Very interesting TC. If I ever need a lawyer I'll PM ya...... as long as you are at least a NW 2.
  23. What would be helpful for forum members in cases like these are immediate post-op pics. Seeing where and how the grafts were placed would be cool.
  24. It was great meeting you Multiplier! And I hope I was able to help answer your questions. Being a couple weeks post-op I can tell you that the first few weeks are not very fun but they are short-lived. And going with SMG you are great hands. They are straight shooters for sure. Thanks bonker! It actually only feels like my 2nd transplant since my very first one (not with Dr. Paul) didn't qualify to count as a true HT.
