  1. I remember really holding it in so I wouldn't interrupt the doctor's flow (no pun intended) in extracting grafts.
  2. Not necessarily, I had moderate scalp elasticity. Surgery #4 was a scar reduction that yielded 300 grafts. Surgery #5 and #6 were small strips that yielded 700 and 500 grafts respectively.
  3. This you go by simply how you feel. If you push it too soon you will feel some throbbing in your strip wound and you'll have no choice but to stop.. It's hard to put an exact time table on it but ease into it after a few weeks. I always took a couple months just to be safe.
  4. The only time you feel a 'tightness', or a kind of pull in the scalp, is for a few weeks post-op. It would be difficult to tuck in your chin to your chest for a few weeks. I can't pinch as much scalp as I used to, but that's the only long term effect from FUT. There's no lasting sensation connected to reduced laxity.
  5. You're right on track for an incredible result!
  6. Good stuff, thanks @Melvin-Moderator and @DrTBarghouthi! Very informative!
  7. Since I've dealt with occasional scalp inflammation, Dr. Paul Shapiro actually prescribed me prednisone a day before surgery and for a week post-op just as a preventive measure. So no, I would assume no negative impact on hair growth.
  8. Haha, well I'd be honored! 🎖️ But tbh, it didn't need to be that many surgeries if not for my foolish choice for my surgery #1. Live and learn...
  9. 1) Get on Fin a couple years earlier. 2) Go to Shapiro Medical Group for my first surgery. 3) Not brush off experienced posters on this forum as hair snobs when I was a newbie. I should have listened! 😭 But all is good now! 😎
  10. My six FUT's over the span of a decade, including one scar reduction, yielded almost 7,000 total grafts. The elasticity in the back of my head tightened up after the scar reduction, so my final two FUT's were small strips taken above the ears. I definitely wanted to "strip out" before venturing into FUE.
  11. Looking good, you are cruising on the highway now! 😎
  12. Sleep upright if you can. The staples or sutures will get annoying to sleep on. Expect the ugly duckling stage for round 1 to be more severe than subsequent procedures. Be patient! Good call going with Dr. K. Make a thread on the surgery if you can. When is the surgery?
  13. Awesome! Post-op work looks very clean, and like deitel130 said wise hairline shape.
  14. Making the most of the difficult case, great work! Good that the patient is on fin. Do you happen to have any immediate post-op pics? And am I correct to assume that this case was done in one day? Again, excellent result!
  15. Just scrolled through the thread and I could tell at 3 months it was about ready to pop for you. Next couple of months should be fun, enjoy the ride!
  16. Just a thought... removing your scalp moles would be much easier than covering your NW6/7 bald area with hair. Have you thought about going to a plastic surgeon to get them shaved off? That way a shaved head with a kick ass beard look would still be an option for you.
  17. Recently had a 1,100 graft FUE and I can't locate one punch scar 7 months post-op. I know they're there but I can't find them. More noticeable is the decreased density from the donor area.
  18. I think your donor has been over harvested, definitely need a repair. I highly recommend going to Dr. Nick Riviera for round two.
  19. If you're not on Fin, then a HT would likely permanently shock out the rest of your native hair leaving you no better off, possibly worse.
  20. There's that... I strongly recommend maxing out on strip before FUE. A smaller FUT session with Dr. K would be more affordable too.
