Regular Member Capelli21 Posted December 12, 2023 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 12, 2023 Hey fam, Month 6 update. I have let the donor grow a bit. Ill admit, for the first few months post HT, it was so hard for me to believe the donor would bounce back. Even though I've seen numerous cases where it did for other Eugenix patients, I just started wavering. Many of you chimed in with support and it helped. Thank you. I must say, I am pleased with how the donor has turned out, and my worrying was in vain. Eugenix knows what they're doing. So after being depressed for years with a shaved head, I finally chose to pull the trigger and do something about it. I had long been hesitant as I was worried I would spend lots of money on a HT and not get a result I was happy with, but I finally reached a breaking point where I realized money is just money, and if it could buy me a lottery ticket to possibly having hair again, it was worth the risk. I chose Dr Das and flew to New Delhi July of 2022. I explained to her I didnt want to do half my head first then the half later, I wanted full scalp coverage in one go, and would return for density later. She said my donor looked good and they would try for 5-6k grafts. The surgery was spread over 3 days, just under 24 hours, and was mostly painless other than the administration of the anesthesia. They took 6005 grafts in total, 4200 being from scalp and 1805 from beard. Dr Das was incredible; very knowledgeable, took the time to answer my questions and address any concerns that came up. It was amazing to watch the techs work, they were so fluid, like a well-oiled machine, you could tell they were experienced and worked well as a team. They made sure I was comfortable at all times, and even let me choose the music they played. Before flying to India I really didnt know exactly what to expect, but seeing how great the whole team was quickly put me at ease. It turns out I have a really weak stomach for medication, particularly antibiotics, because the morning after the surgery was over I got extremely sick in my hotel room and experienced intense vomiting and diarrhea. I began to worry, as I was alone in a hotel room in a country foreign to me, not sure about the logistics of getting to a hospital. Eugenix' post care follow up team coincidentally reached out to me to see how I was doing and I told them my scalp felt fine, but my stomach was in bad shape. With a sense of urgency they had their driver bring me back to the clinic and they put me under the care of their resident physician. What a relief. They even got a gastroenterologist to meet with me and make sure it wasnt anything serious. Drs Sethi and Arika heard there was a sick patient there, and came into the room to check on me and express their concern, as did Dr Das. The physician and a few others stayed with me in the clinic until I started feeling better, which was about 11pm, then they sent one of their staff to stay with me in the hotel, and monitor my situation throughout the night to make sure it didnt worsen. When we arrived at the hotel I told him repeatedly, "Ill be fine, please go home to your family", but he wouldnt hear of it. He insisted I was his family too, and wanted to make sure I was OK. Wow. What an experience, all in all. I cannot say enough about the professionalism of the staff and particularly the kindness and care they showed me after my procedure was over. It kinda made me want to stay in India : ) . I hate being cliche but I must echo the voices of many other HT patients on here and say that I only wish I had done this sooner. Your before picture @Capelli21 looks like your dad lol. Congratulations on your results! Don't you want to try to let it grow? You might be able to pull out a fro... I also said that to Hugo but I guess his curl was from a hairdryer accessories. Do you also use that or yours is a natural curl? Also do you put any product in your hair to make it curl? Thanks for the update, we appreciate it 🙂

Great to witness one of the greatest transformations! I am typically NOT the type of person to comment, submit feedback, or share a personal journey... But I think I definitely owe it back to this community. I had a HT surgery booked with a well known hairmill in Turkey originally, because all the info I saw online turned out to be their own propaganda marketing. One week before my appointment date I stumbled upon real, unfiltered, un-cherrypicked results, where several people's lives were basically ruined by them. Thank God I caught it in time, and was able to back out, or who knows where I'd be now. This site has been such a treasure trove of information and support, which ultimately helped me choose a reputable clinic that could restore my hair and at the risk of sounding too cliché, give me a piece of my life back! 2 EUGENIX / DR DAS / NORWOOD 6 / 6005+2203 = 8208 TOTAL GRAFTS / JULY 2022, JUNE 2023
