2500 FUT Dr Rahal (Hairline Repair)

I had 2500 grafts from Dr. Rahal last July 26 to repair my bad 2000 grafts surgery from a previous Hair transplant clinic located in the Gulf (LADHAIR). My scar was 1cm wide, however Dr. Rahal tried to reduce it down to 0.7cm and created new scars at the sides which are pencil thin to extract more grafts. Im now 5 months post OP. I kept shaving my head weekly after surgery to look clean and to make my pictures clearer for the viewers. :cool:

Thanks Spex, Happy new year too. I already booked a scar revision surgery with FUE out the grafts from my bad old hairline to put into my side scars with Dr. Feriduni on July 2012. I appreciate your guiding and advices, I was about to do FUE into scar with Bisanga but seems like Scar revision worth trying first to save my precious grafts. Thanks again.

 

Taking the plunge, Its my duty and obligation to share my results with the network. I owe your network a lot for finding all the answers I needed about Hair transplant and finding the right doctor that will repair my case and revive my hopes. Without HTN, I wouldn't knew about Dr. Rahal or any other of the great recommended surgeons. It became part of my daily life routine browsing it. I wish you to enable a mobile version one day. Keep it up.

You have a great head of hair IMO! Get the scar revised and stay on meds and you will be good to go for a long time. Good luck! You deserve it!

hariri, The surgery with Dr. Rahal should have taken care of revising your old scar. Is that last picture your scar from the Rahal surgery? If so, then it would seem your scar has a tendency to stretch and I'm not sure yet another revision is going to do much. This can be good as it indicates you have excellent laxity, but bad of course if you intend to wear your hair short.

Its hard to tell what's going on with your growth with it being so short i'd start growing it out if i was you because knowing rahal you've probably got a afros worth by now lol.

 

I see the problem rahal had with your scar i think the reason he couldn't reduce it more is because it zig zags and he has to follow the pattern.

Hariri, what's going with the bottom cm of your hairline? it looks like rahal did not plant in that area? did he punch out grafts there?

RC WEST, Thanks for the compliment. I hope the meds will make me stay this way, I'm only using Rogaine 5% plus saw palmetto 500mg as Propecia killed my libido big time after taking it for almost 9 months.

Hair there. The thing is I wanted more grafts than removing my scar tissue that time. So Rahal removed part of the scar tissue from the top. So the closure wasn't that effective because it was skin to scar and not skin to skin as it happened to my side scars which you can see how successful and pencil thin its. So I was advised by Dr. Rahal to remove the whole scar tissue of old scar in a future surgery to be able to preform a proper tri closure.

 

Newhairplease, Yes it was 1cm wide but the crazy pattern was the same, I guess it was the signature of my ex butcher. Now its 0.7cm, I stated the reason already above.

 

Bonkerstonker, I really wish that haha. I agree with what you said. The zigzag was a hard thing for the doctor to deal with especially my priority to get as much as i can but not more than 2500. Dr. Rahal thought I could get 2200 but guess my laxity excersice from Jotronic helped a lot :-)

 

Eddiemunster, Well that bad doctor I had my 2000 grafts planted my grafts low. So Dr. Rahal said I wont be satisfied with the density if I stayed that low so he gave me a more mature hairline by raising it up. The only solution is to keep on shaving these hairs under my new hairline. However Im planning to FUE them out with Dr. Feriduni this coming July and plant them into my side thin scars. Its almost 100 grafts estimated.

Looking good Hariri! You have some good early growth...I would start growing it out at this point as it will probably yield a nice result even at this early juncture of 5 months! Congrats and keep us posted!!!

I will starting from now. I'm just a bit perfectionist, I wanted my hair to grow out well so I would be able to use my beloving Nanogen as it needs hair to stick into. I guess so far by almost 6 months mark I will be able to grow it out . Thanks for the advice.

Hariri, for five months you are doing pretty good. Obviously the illusion in an ht is when you grow your hair out. I feel that when my hair is about medium to long, it looks it's fullest. You should start seeing some pretty good growth around 7th and 8 month like i did. Good luck with your scar revision

Thanks for posting pics Hariri. We're all glad to see them. Good luck growing it out. I definitely think the punch outs will help out a lot. I had a few done with my first procedure with SMG. It took a couple months for the punches to completely heal but there are no marks now where the grafts used to be. The work you got from Rahal looks like classic Rahal - a good thing!

Janna, thank you for the Feriduni recommendation, I really got convinced somehow that he was the right Doc for it after my communication with him as he is very friendly and answered every difficult questions i asked about scar revision.

 

Aaron1234, Your punch out result looks great, I'm so glad that you didn't have any marks. I wish I wont have any too as I have around 100 grafts to be removed and thanks for the compliment :-)

Here are photos of my 6 months Post OP photos. The first 8 photos at the car parking lot were under direct sun light while the last two were under diffused sun light. Im going for a one week vacation, I will take clearer photos just like my 5 months post op ones when I get back from vacation which would be by that time 6.5 months. As you can see, I stopped shaving my head and started to grow it back with consuming MSM 2000mg daily.

Looks like it has filled in nicely. The density at 6 months looks like it matches the rest of your head which is great news. You only have more growth and maturing to do!

 

Are you trimming the first .5" or so of your hairline so you get a nice straight appearance to your hairline??
