  1. No shampoo is really going to make a significant difference. I liked Revita out of all of them because you get the benefit of anti-balding ingredients with a mild, volumizing shampoo. Nizoral dried my hair out , big time!!
  2. I have tried them all and to date, Dermatch worked the best. The others were VERY messy and got all over the bathroom (and my collar). With Dermatch, I could but the concealer where it was needed and then secure it with hair spray. Most importantly, the others tend to "drip" in the rain and the dermatch worked very well. I also used Couvre in the larger area's in the old day I'm so glad those days are over!!
  3. Hello I had 3 strip procedures, all of which I returned to work in 7-10 days or so with "concealer" to hide the surgery. If you get a strip procedure, then shaving the head is pretty much out of the question due to the scar. With FUE you could but not everyone can get away with that look
  4. I asked my doctor ( Dr. True) the same question and he repeated what was said above. Of course , I too see people who are very bald on top but possess a large "supply" of nape hair.
  5. Yes, At day 12, my FUE's are still there and feel like nice stubble. As this is my fourth procedure (an FUE, minor one) I will just wait for the donor area to grow in a couple weeks and then forget about it. It is said, the more procedures, the slower the growth of the transplants however I have not seen that. No sense is "watching the grass grow."
  6. Yes, Save money. Also, get on Finasteride to hault the loss. I checked out your pics, you are on your way!!
  7. Thanks man. You will make it! It's not luck (save, save, save). Plan the work / work the plan! It takes time and you have to be patient .. Don't give up . The good news is that science is progressing! Do your research! Be strong! Jobi
  8. Hi all I cannot say I am clinically depressed but no doubt my hairloss caused major anxiety and discontent in my life. I starting losing my hair at about 22 or so , in college ( supposed to be the time of your life). New hairstyles, hats and concealer and by the time I graduated I was using a considerable amount of concealer to hide it. It always killed me when people would say "You are losing your hair." - No Sh!t, I would never say that to someone! for over 15 years it was a battle with hiding my hairloss, transplants and the fact I was using conceale (yes: black pillow, towels and dirty bathrooms). In the big picture, not a big deal but it is all relative. All I wanted to do is to be "normal". Losing your hair at 22 certainly doesn't help your social life either. Fast forward today ( at 40) I have beat it! I've had 4 HT's ( one little touch up last week) and I can honestly say it was the BEST money I spent. I really feel for men when I see them losing their hair and the various strategies they are employing to cover it or deal with it.. I'm so happy I don't have to deal with that and I often get the comment "Yeah, but you are lucky, you have a great head of hair." -Llittle do they know! I never forgot where I came from and hence, here I am to support others! You can beat or or deal with it but one must make a decision and then move forward!
  9. Hello I actually took Steriods when I was much younger (and yes they work very well). Scientically speaking, the term "steroids" is very broad as there are so many different kinds. In addition, there is a difference between use and abuse (although illegal). Any drug when used incorrectly will most likely cause problems. At the end of the day, they are a short term solution as it is foolish to think you would stay on them. Depending on the drug, your diet and training plan results will vary and you will most likely lose most of what you gain ( especially the andogenic drugs) Like hairloss, there is no magic pill. P.S. I might disagree a bit with the earlier poster regarding "roid rage". I have a very calm nature but I can tell you, when I was on the juice my fuse was short which was very uncharacteristic for me. I don't know if it is roid rage but is certainly can make you lose your cool. Let's face it, you are filled with a high level of male hormones!!
  10. If you want to save money don't buy Propecia and get a perscription for Finasteride and cut the pill in fourth's with a pill cutter. I bought Propecia for years and then I wised up and now I'm saving hundreds!
  11. Been on Finasteride for over 10 years and no side effects other than my stabilized hairloss! My libido doesn't need any help but of course, different drugs affect people differently.
  12. Hello Hair replacement is a personal decision. For me, I would shave my head before I would wear any hair system. They are very expensive and a "band aid" in my mind. At the end of the day, you need to be happy
  13. Shampoos will make a cosmetic improvement. As far as regrowth, there is little evidence indicating otherwise (maybe marginal in the best case). I do like Revita as it leaves my hair feeling thick and no dried out ( See Nizoral). A good conditioner makes a big difference as well, try Fructis olive, avocado and shea minute.
  14. Shampoos will affect the cosmetic aspect of your hair (and feel) however, as far as regrowth is concerned, the evidence indicates little improvement (if any) regarding regrowth. Revita is a great shampoo though.
  15. I have long been a supporter of Revita. It is a great shampoo and leaves my hair full and not dried out as others may. I really wouldn't expect any shampoo to make a considerable difference regarding "hair loss" as the evidence is "marginal" at best in supporting regrowth. With that being said, in combination with other items, it can help. Again, it is a great shampoo with.
  16. It is probably safe to assume if you were losing your hair prior, then the progressive hair loss is simply, progressing. I have been taking Finasteride for years in order to maintain what I have and then fill in the spots with surgery. Your call, but it appears if one doesn't stop the progressive hairloss, your native hair will fall out as you continue to try to fill in .
  17. That is a considerable about of hairloss and it appears you would need triple that number for relative coverage. I would first try to slow / stop the hairloss with some meds if possible (check with your doctor of course) FUE is always nice but very pricey compared to FUT. It would also allow you to shave your head and allow for a more natural progression without considerable effort to "cover up" the scar as I had to do over my 3 procedures. Speak with credible doctors and research your options.
  18. The Good ones you can never tell Shocked to hear Adam Levin has - looks great!
  19. Good stuff! One thing that made a huge difference in my hair texture (yes, and thickness) was to condition daily. I use Fructis 3 minute olive, shea and avocado conditioner and it seriously works wonders. My hair is a bit coarse and frizzy and this smooths it out. BIG fan of Kerastase Capital Force products but very expensive. I'll have to try the thickening products mentioned Thanks Jobi
  20. Congrats to Pat, Bill and the team. I have been a member of this site since 2005 (where does the time go) and I can honestly say my life would not be the same without it. To date I have had 4 HT's with Dr. True and the forum has repeatedtly provided me with information, insight and support throughout my journey. The Network has truly evolved and I look forward to further to being a part of this special website with the goal of helping others through the sometimes, difficult process of hairloss ( and recovering it) Warm regards Jobi
  21. I would take steroids before I would do that Be careful with that!!
  22. Hello I feel your pain. I started losing my hair in my early 20's and it was not fun. Of course I started with different hairstyles, then hats and then concealer which I used over 10 years to conceal my hairloss. I hid it from everyone and every once and a while was question about my "dark stains" on my pillow case, shirt , etc.. Very stressful in the dating world as well. Finally, after 3 HT's I didn't have to use concealer and just had a little FUE touch up to fill in the crown where it was diffuse. The good news is you can have gradual FUE surgery which is relatively indetectable and has no BIG scar like FUT. It is much more expensive but if you have a shaved head now may be your best bet if money is not an option Do you research as it is indeed a longterm commitiment!! It was a long road and best money I spent!
  23. Looking great man ! A tribute to Dr. Wong and the miracles of science available today!
  24. Hi Having a bad HT is like dating a bad woman. You have the propensity to consequently hate all women and think all are the same. Rest assured this is not the case ( with the HT doctors haha) This is why selecting the right doctor is so important. I have had 3 HT's with the same doctor and no doubt it is the best decision I ever made. I have had not 1 single person even imply I had work done. This is due to the fact it is undetectable Have faith, select a qualified doctor, and fix your problem if you see fit.
