  1. We all have to deal with "aging" and the various changes that occuer. Of course, hair loss is a bit different because it is (for the most part) not health related and/or age in some instances. Remember, you don't have to accept hairloss as there are many solutions out there. Take action and make a plan.
  2. Hello I think it is normal to "dream" about how different factors would change your life. More hair, taller, slimmer, richer , better looking, etc.... The point here is to control what you can and accept what you can't. Hair loss was very disasterous for my self image as well. So, I started using concealer, taking propecia and formulating a game plan to address it. 7 years later I have beat it . Life will knock you down and you need to take a proactive approach to solve your challenges. Sometimes, we cannot do anything other than accept situations in our life and move on. There are many people out there who can barely walk , so it is essential you keep things in perspecitive as well. If this becomes a "problem" there is nothing wrong with talking to someone about it but more importantly, take action to address the challenge if possible.
  3. Hello This is why it is essential your hairloss is stabilized. Don't get me wrong, I can still have a guard 2 with no problem so I can have a short haircut. Almost all of my hair on the top is from transplants. Further, I have had all of my procedures over the course of 7 years so this allows for a progressive "fill in" and to compensate for any gradual loss. Based on my plan, I can still have one more strip if needed. At the end of the day, you need to decide what is best for you. For me, my plan has been spot on and I could not be happier with my results. FUE is great but there is no way I could afford the same result (time and money) as opposed to the plan I have completed
  4. Not sure how old you are? I always advise to explore Finasteride first (to stabilize hairloss). FUT is less expensive and easier to get a higher yield. There are many different combinations to acheive a good result. It really depends on a host of factors: Money, time, amount of hairloss and personal goals.
  5. Last one was just to fill in the crown a little bit . No need to get FUT for this small procedure. At this point, my hair is looking damn good so it's just icing on the cake
  6. Agreed, but you can drive yourself crazy analyzing to much sometimes ( been there done that). The hardest part of the transplant itself is the "waiting." After my first I just try to forget and enjoy the ride!
  7. Hello My bad, let me clarify: " 12-16 months" for a final result regarding growth. I am not sure of your question, a valid one. My point is , does it really matter if it takes a year or so from your date of transplant to see the final result.
  8. Yes, isn't the whole purpose of getting "hair" to wear it a bit longer ? I had very short hair for years in order to hide my thinning. Now (after 4 HT's) I have a normal haircut ! Love it!!
  9. FUE (for the most part) allows for a hair transplant without the traditional scar. I myself have had 3 FUT and 1 FUE but I can buzz down to about guard 2 . At my age (40) I have no need to go shorter. How many professionals have a "buzz" cut?? The whole purpose, in my view, of having these procedures is to sport a normal haircut. Short hair was better when I was thinning and now I want a real haircut.
  10. They continue to deliver excellent result. Of course, every patient is unique and might not be able to produce such a yield. One size does not fit all.
  11. It is important to follow the post op instructions. Keep the grafts free of excessive "anything" for about 2 weeks or so. Just read the document given and obey religiously
  12. Hi At the end of the day, it takes 12-16 months for the "new" hair to grow in . No sense in "splitting hairs" to determine how quick or slow the new grafts will appear. Relax and enjoy the ride
  13. I liked Revita better as it is much "gentler" than Nizoral and has some other anti-DHT additives. Revita is just a great shampoo overall and one of the few which doesn't dry out my hair. As fair as hairloss, either will have a marginal effect at best
  14. 1 year from now, none of this will matter. You will have hair and will enjoy the "fruits of your labor." I'm 3 weeks post and still have most of my "stubbly" FUE hairs..I hope they stick around! Have a bit of shock loss in the crown and my donor area is just now filling in as a result of the shaving from FUE extraction
  15. Shows you the power of the proven, Big 3. This should be a poster on this forum for all newbies who are asking for answers. Of course, the results might not work to this extent on everyone but it is certainly better than the combined "results" of the crap that is our there!
  16. Hello I have had 4 procedures and it was the best decision of my life. Nerves, doubts, concealers, vitamins, shampoos , etc, etc. I have experienced them all. At this point I am very happy with my results and to this day, not one person has even suspected or commented on my hair (other than how great it looks). Post op is a pain in the butt ( nothing major) and the hardest part is waiting the 12-16 months for the results to grow in.Be prepared to use some concealer in the first weeks (when it is allowed) to hide the surgey and potential shockloss. No biggie. I do have a scar and can"t really "buzz cut" my sides, but who cares now. I have a NORMAL haircut with NORMAL hair. What could be better!!
  17. Hello Do your research as you appear to be doing). Are you on Finasteride in order to stabilize your hairloss? A 5000 megasession is a BIG step and although it produces a great result ( assuming a great doctor performs it), it doesn't allow you to plan for future loss over time. There are many ways to address hairloss. Personally, I took a bit more conservative approach. 3000-3500 is a good move in my opinion but this is just "chalkboard" talk without seeing photo's, hearing your wants/needs and hearing your response to the above question
  18. After four procedures, I can tell you it is the BEST decision I ever made. Post op is a "pain in the butt", but then it is only a matter of time until your hairloss becomes a thing of the past. It is a GREAT feeling! Good luck!!
  19. Oddly enough, my doctor listed H & S as one of the shampoo's to use. Of course, listen to your doctor first
