  1. Totally normal as well. The most important point (once you decide to take the plunge) is to select a credible doctor and to trust them. Getting a HT is not a simple "one and done" procedure as most people will need more than one. The post op requires some healing time as well as waiting 12-14 months for the result. During these times you will experience some mixed feelings. Of course, after 4 HT's and many years, I am estatic with my result!! It was a long road but certainly worth it
  2. I agree I started on the Finasteride over 10 years ago to stabilize my hairloss. It continues to do the job and allowed me to focus on "getting hair" and not losing it. As hairloss is progressive, it is rare when one's loss stops by itself. With this in mind, getting HT's without stopping hairloss is like trying to keep a sinking boat afloat with a bucket. I have had no side effects either so it was an easy choice for me
  3. I had Dr. True perform all 4 of my surgeries. Best decision I ever made!
  4. Otlhair speaks the truth. It will take 12-16 months for a full result to take form
  5. Yes indeed I actually just experienced a bit of shock loss / graft loss (fall out) after 6 weeks. I'm not worried at all ( been there done that). I just try to forget about my procedure and do what it takes to cover it up 1 year from now, none of this will matter and my hair will be looking good!
  6. 4800 will certainly change your "look" . In addtion, your unit breakdown lends itself to "a lot of hair" Good luck!
  7. Yes, 5 weeks post op FUE and many hairs (longer stubble now) remain
  8. It takes about 12-16 months (after each surgery) for the hairs to fully mature. Each one is on their own schedule
  9. Hello You will go through a host of little "odd" feelings during your 12 months. The initial transplant, shedding, pricking hairs and pimples and just some sharp tingling. It all goes away and then you have your hair!
  10. Very common & par for the course I recall photos of my "frizzy" stage from my newly transplanted hair. They were realy coarse and looked odd.
  11. I have had all four of my HT's with Dr. True. This is quite rare for most people on here as I have been very pleased with all of my procedures and the results.
  12. Interesting I have not had any side effects from Finasteride
  13. Interesting. Dermatch has been my favorite and lasts a long, long time for me ( limited hairloss these days) .
  14. Hello Most of us have been through your pain. It will take about 2 weeks to heal to a cosmetic level ( as I think you have a shaved head with FUE). Using concealer is really a moot point. The most challenging point of having a HT is the "waiting" period. Post op healing and early coarse hair texture are among the biggest. You just have to trust your surgeon and just wait it out. Stressing out about it, watching your hair growth and counting the days is only contributing to more stress. If you went to a accredited doctor then sit back, relax and just enjoy the ride .
  15. Dermatch is a "God send" and have gotten me through 4 ht's without anyone noticing! Just be sure it is used at the correct post op period
  16. Hello First of all , I totally "feell your pain". Millions of men are in your shoes including most of the people on this forum. I started losing my hair at 23 and tried every potion in the world before focusing on proven solutions (including hair transplantation) First of all, see a doctor concerning your hair loss and inquire about Finasteride. Stabilizing hairloss is a very good first step in treating hairloss . I have been on it for over 10 years and it have haulted my hairloss. As far as doctors, there are great doctors everywhere. Do your research and select a reputible surgeon. After the initial HT, there is one follow up needed after and then the removal of stitches ( if you go FUT). After that, excluding complications which are rare, you are free to travel the world!
  17. People, in general, love to voice their opinion and point out what their "viewpoint" is. However, those same people, are the one's who many times get highly defensive when a comment is directed towards them.
  18. Congrats! Time, time , time is on your side, yes it is! Enjoy the ride
  19. Remember, you just had hair follicles removed from your scalp and planted in another area. It will take a little time to heal and get back to normal. I'm at 1 month post op and I still have a little itchy and redness in the donor area. The planted area is a little rough and I am using Dermatch to conceal. Healing times vary but I think a month or so should be enough (FUE) to look relatively normal.
  20. Hello See a doctor to discuss your hairloss. Ask questions about Finasteride and cutting the pills into "4's" . This is much cheaper than Propecia and can stabilize your hairloss. Based on the photo, you are fine
  21. Conditioning also depends on your hair type and what you are doing while styling your hair ( blowdrying, coloring , etc.). I have to condition often as mine is dry, coarse and wavy. Nioxin really isn't going to re-grow hair or stop loss. I actually use Nioxin (recently picked some up). The conditioner is great, has a nice menthol feeling and leaves my hair soft and shiny. You choice to use it or not
  22. David speaks wise words. I started thinning at about 21 or so myself and it quickly picked up by the time I was 23. If you are concerned, see a qualified doctor and speak to them about your options. Finasteride can stabilize your hairloss as well as Rogaine (crown area) Good luck
  23. Yes, indeed. I remember when I was 20 or so . A "friend" said "You know, you are going to lose your hair." This was before I even noticed it but apparently, I had a bald spot developing. After, year by year, it slowly progressed until I was 23 and then it started coming out FAST (one of the most stressful points in my life). From that point on I promised myself I would do what it took to get my hair back - 20 years later, I have completed that journey. To this day, it had made me a empathetic person in many areas and also shown me to "take action" on situations which need to be addressed.
