  1. Can you see in the pic below just how similar my Dad and I are? We walk the same, have the same ears, same facial profile, same mannerisms, same features, our arms/legs still look the same as each others, except for his wrinkles. We throw a baseball the same (or did, haha, he's 71yo now!), walk/run the same. Dude, we're like twins separated by 30 years, and by MEDS!! (I take fin, he missed the boat on fin) What is he, a NW6 or so? 7? This picture was taken last November 2016, when I was 9 months post-op from my frontal third HT -- my one and only HT thus far, and I'm 41 years old in this pic. My mid-scalp and crown are untouched, thanks to 17 years and counting on propecia (only the real deal available when I started, and now generic finasteride) FYI, both my parents fathers were cue balls, lol --- Anyway, in case people were wondering how well long-term fin works for hairloss (WITHOUT getting into the pros/cons of side effects - i've never had any)
  2. Sick, sick, sick result. FUT scar negligible. I recently went down to a #4 with no visible scar. Gonna risk a #3 next time, but you look like you're sporting s #2 guard here, no?
  3. I was a tuft case. See my signature below for my thread. Plenty of pics to see how my doctor integrated my existing hair in the tuft with my new transplanted hair. Came out great :-)
  4. Szotz, great write up. How's the shedding going?
  5. In my opinion, how much a doctor charges in no way reflects how much (or how little) they care about their patients.
  6. What Bill said. Basically, to protect the HT itself: 1. Protect grafts according to clinic post-op instructions, especially thru first 10 days 2. Sit on your ass and wait a year --- To protect further hairloss, take finasteride. Minoxidil proven to work too, but I don't take it so I have no opinion on minoxidil
  7. Certainly smoking is terrible for us, but I smoked immediately post-op. As a smoker, I should quit ASAP, but it did not effect my results in any way whatsoever.
  8. YES I am very very tempted to do FUE (and FUE into scar) -- but why? What's the point, because in 4-6 short months I'll be okay. I mean, sure the donor heals up real quick, but if my postop goes anything like my first round, I'm going to have brutal shockloss again anyway, ya know? I'll trade another brutal shockloss for another 1000-1200 to get my frontal third "just right" I guess I'm not willing to FUE until I strip out first....
  9. I buzzed all of mine at 3-3.5 months and was glad I did. Psychologically, the even look made me feel/think I was past the ugly duckling phase. The choppy, uneven growth crap looked terrible on me
  10. Thanks for the valuable input Sean, I appreciate it
  11. Wow, nice sprout from month #4 to month #5. My guess is you'll see month #6 distance itself from month #5 as well. Looks good buddy, and you should keep the gray!! :-)
  12. I have the opposite opinion. Among the elite surgeons, i bet there are a TON of unreported successes relative to the number of failures. Who wants to invest their time with a raving review, pics, engaging us with feedback/correspondence, etc? The happy campers? Hardly. The pissed off HT clients? Of course. Just my opinion...
  13. I agree Speegs. I also am appreciating the benefit of gray hair vs dark brown hair with respect to my skin color/complexion
  14. About a month away from my 1000-1200 graft hair-greed touch up on March 27th, but here's a random shot. The gray is back after shaving it all down to a #5 a few weeks ago...
  15. If these were my only two choices? Dr. Lupanzula
  16. Dmitri, you should decide which is best for you: FUE or FUT. After you've done that, then choose a doctor that specializes in one or the other.
  17. Stinger, congrats on your journey thus far thru the ugly duckling phase. Hey, how was your facial swelling postop this time, versus your previous HT?
  18. Round 1 with Rahal was such a great result that I'd be foolish to go with another doc for round 2. Just imagine if I chose another doc and got a subpar 2nd round result? I'd be kicking myself for years to come. my head + his hands = gotta go with 'The Hairline King' again. Regarding pushing density limits, the areas I'm going to fill are sub-optimal at the moment (up close and in-person) and my grafts at very front of hairline were the only placements in round 1 that were targeted for "60grafts/cm2" area. I'm of the cautious opinion that I'll be a happy camper by Christmas :-)
  19. I scheduled it back in November. Was a tentative touch-up date. Now it's a round 2 date. Rahal has suggested 1000-1200 grafts (based on my pics) to bring density to an almost undetectable level with my native hair, even up close and in the harshest of conditions :-) Note to newbie readers -- as I'm older, stable on fin, and a lower Norwood case, I'm able to go beyond the "50% density for illusion of a full head of hair" axiom.
