It's been just over 12 months since I sat down in the chair with Dr. Hasson. I can say without hesitation that is was one of the best things I have ever done. I am very grateful to Dr. H and the team over at H&W, who I cannot thank enough. I used to waste so much time and energy worrying about my hair. and this anxiety had a massive impact on every aspect of my life. I now no longer worry about how my hair looks and it has resulted in me not only looking better, but also feeling better too. This has has the knock on effect of improving my overall disposition, my confidence at work, and my confidence with the opposite sex. In my eyes this is priceless and I would not hesitate go through the entire process again. I also encourage everyone who is thinking about taking the plunge to do their research, find a doc they are happy with and go ahead - if you go with a top doc it is very likely you will have a good result. Thank you as well to all of the forum members who contribute to the community every day, and to those who have supported me and said kind things to me over the last year. You have all been a great source of support for something which is (for most people) very private. Pictures for 12 months below. TJ

1. Thank you, much appreciated 2. I have to be honest here, I started it so long ago I can't really remember my timeline or if it got worse before it got better. Sorry..! Like you say, two months is VERY early days, so be patient. I reckon it probably took a whole year to max out the benefit and you should be noticing changes by 6 months. I should also mention I never really had problems with my crown, but progesterone helped my frontal third to thicken and maintain. As far as I know, no new hair grew in, it just helped what was already there. Out of interest, what kind of progesterone (oral, yes, but what brand) are you using and how did you acquire it? Good luck with your HT and happy growing! Who was your doctor?

+1 for H&W. Dr Hasson did an FUT on me and it turned out great. I would go to Rahal - from what I've seen he's very good. I would also go to Erdogan. Also very good and the hair always grows, but imo some of his hairlines can look a tad drawn on. You already have one, so less of an issue for you. I would also go to Konior - he's basically the unicorn of the hair restoration doctors in most people's eyes, and his work is evidence of that

Don't worry, it will seem like nothing is happening.- it's normal. I personally found months 2-5 the hardest. The mental side of post-op is no joke and very strenuous! One thing I hadn't factored in before i took the plunge. You'll be smiling soon, don't worry. Interested to see how this turns out, particularly the temple peaks. Happy growing!

Update for this month below. Everything is great - very happy! I'd say my scar has improved and reckon they mature and settle down just like new hair. I expect it looks as good now as it probably ever will, which is great. Hair greed is real and I can't say I haven't considered FUE into the scar, and possibly a few hundred grafts in each temple. My temples are pretty much gone and it really would just be the icing on the cake.

Doesn't seem to have impacted negatively on me so far. Thanks, OR. I tapered it down from one every night to one every other night, probably around 6 months post-op. I continue to take it every other day. I would say noticing at 6 months in sounds about right. I reckon after one year it had maxed out.Please note that effects seem to wane if you stop. I had a friend who started taking it as well and his hair improved. He stopped against my advice for around 6-8 months and his hair got noticeably worse. He has since resumed taking his pills! Let me know how you get on, would be great to hear feedback from others.

I highly recommend you read his post history beforehand: Forum By and for Hair Loss Patients - Search Results He had massive issues and they did not resolve even after 18 months. These included poor growth, skin texture issues, inflammation, pain and discomfort. Be very careful.

I'm noticing for the first time that my hair is sitting flat properly. I thought I was basically done, but maturation of the hair does continue. I have to say that Dr Hasson's hairline design and graft placement has been outstanding - there is the perfect balance of micro and macro irregularity. I've included a few closeups for anyone who's interested. First three are fresh out the shower, the others have product in my hair and the last one was taken outside.

10 Month update below. More of the same really! Hair continues to soften and I just had a haircut yesterday where I asked my barber to take about an inch off the front and top. Everything is now sitting much flatter and the hair is less curly, although not yet completely straight like the rest of my hair.

Just curious, Ernie. I see you've opted for another FUT (which I understand based on your previous success) but would you not perhaps be tempted to go down the FUE route and put a couple of grafts into the scar? I'd imagine you'd be able to go all the way down to a 2 (or even a 1)after this as I understand that 5 is pretty much your limit right now.

You basically took the view that it was ok because: Which is categorically untrue.I was objecting to your view that the OP should accept this result as anything other than poor. No one wants a lower hairline that is see-through. Slightly flimsy excuse, a 'similar name' is a bit far fetched. I think this thread may have been a factor in that swift backtrack. Either way, I am very happy that you reached out and he's offered to help you for free. This shouldn't be something that should really have happened in the first place, but at least you've got a solution now. All the best for the future, please do keep us updated.
