  1. I highly doubt there would be any damage done . Having said that , he sounded heavy handed - you could have maybe mentioned to take it a bit gentler . No need for a barber to be so heavy handed . I'm just over 5 months post HT and my recipient is still a little tender , so can understand it may well be over sensitive .
  2. What a poor representation the HT scene gets from stories like this . The OP is as as culpable as the Dr. Karma indeed !
  3. Sorry - misread your comment . Yes , hoping to do another HT around the 12 month mark. I reckon I'll need around 3000 grafts to give a fair coverage to the crown . However , the crown can be a strange beast - sometimes less is more .
  4. Thanks Rashid . Didn't post any crown shots as this was untouched this session . That'll be addressed in HT No.2 !
  5. Also , just to mention that this haircut is a number 3 guard at the sides and back . Pretty sure I could get away with a no.2 guard if I tried it , but happy at this length anyway . Just a slight hint of redness remaining at the incision line , but expect this to completely fade over the coming months.
  6. Just passed the 5 month mark . I've included photos in different light settings . I've also included a photo of the scar - not the best photo but's it's difficult to find it . Considering where I started from , I'm really happy with the progress to date , and hopefully with a good period left to improve further .I'm hoping that the density across the hairline will improve , but even if it didn't I'd happily live with this .
  7. Good advice from Ontop and HTsoon . It's really strange that the shock loss happened a fair distance from the transplant , but you do come across similar cases every now and then . Best of luck and keep us updated if you can .
  8. That's a really tough one to answer . Sorry to hear you got permanent shock loss . Did you mention in your consultations about the risk of further shock loss ? How many grafts were placed in the last surgery that resulted in the shock loss . Problem is , is it worth taking the risk and potentially suffering further permanent shock loss ?
  9. That's because no such data exists and likely never will .The forums are the best independant source of information you'll find . The more you research , the more you'll get to know which surgeons are delivering the most consistent good results . The caveat being , as you already know , that even the best doctors can have sub-par results for many reasons .
  10. As mentioned , excellent result for the no. of grafts . Have you dyed your hair or is it just the lighting ?
  11. 3.5 months post op is way too early to worry , but like you say it's a paranoia shared by many . At that stage I was only just getting back to my pre-op satge and I had slight concerns at the way it was progressing . However , from month 4 on , things have really started to happen . Back to your question , from what I've read , one reason why hairs may die is that the blood supply is insufficient to sustain the grafts placed . I've read of cases where the growth is good , but at some stage later on , for some reason the blood supply required to the transplanted area can cease . I don't think anyone really knows why this should happen , but if others do then please chip in . Having said that , it's not a common occurence as far as I know , so not worth stressing over , especially at your early stage .
  12. Ha - paranoia - it's all part of the journey . Taking shape nicely .
  13. Great result ! Session pushing 8000 grafts - wow !
  14. Are you in the UK ? If so , the opening post mentions that Dr Mwamba is doing consults in London . Nothing to lose in having a pesonal consult !
  15. That's a slightly political question . Check out all the organisations you mention , and you'll find out the qualifying conditions for each .
  16. I know it's been discussed previously , but I can't imagine any reputable surgeon would cheat on the grafts placed . It would only take getting caught once to have a serious impact on their career . I've seen others mention takng high definition photographs post op and counting them . Oh , and as esrec says , just ask him how he records the grafts .
  17. He actually posts these surgeries on youtube ? Sounds as though he's as stupid as he is incompetent !
  18. Excellent healing - you have to look hard to see it .The tricho closures do really seem to be producing great results scar wise . I can see no evidence of mine at 4.5 months post op even at a no. 3 to 4 cut - may even try a no.2 cut next time .
  19. Stunning result mate - absolutely made up for you . I'm just hitting the 4.5 month mark , so looking forward to how it develops over the next 2 months . Like you say , with your kind of result , the best thing that money can buy .
