  1. Must admit , it is a strange design . I did actually consider this clinic , but decided otherwise .
  2. As long as there is no heavy physical activity such as heavy weights , you should be good with your plans . Run it past your Dr anyway .
  3. Nice result and honestly presented photo's . Makes the good point that expectations need to be realistic , more so in the case of higher NW's . Exceptional circumstances apart , higher NW's are never gong to achieve the cosmetic effects of super high density .
  4. If you click on my profile then posts , you will find my thread on the 2nd page .Not sure how to post links ! Not updated for a while which I will do in a few weeks .
  5. Deposit - 400 euros . Would have to check back on the total cost , but somewhere around the 6k euro mark.
  6. I had surgery with Dr K last December and paid the deposit . I had no problem with it . Some forum members may say you shouldn't need to , but to be fair I can understand the reasons why a deposit may be requested . It shows intent on the part of the patient and puts off the undoubted bluffers out there .
  7. I've no idea who you are , but I'd take it that the inference is not good !
  8. I think it looks improved compared to your 7 and 8 month photo's . The quality of your latest photo's aren't that great to be fair , so may be able to better judge with clearer photo's.
  9. Thanks for the input Gillenator . You mentioned in the other forum about researching the subject . As that thread is now 6 years old , did you ever get any further on with the research , and has any medical research ever been undertaken into the phenomenon as far as your know? I find it a really interesting topic , but the silence on the subject , these type of threads apart , is disconcerting. You mentioned about possible miniaturisation of donor hairs. I understand that there's no definite answer , but do you think that the level of miniaturisation is likely to be minimal or greatly reduced after a certain age ?
  10. Thanks for the link BMB - very interesting thread . Gillenator had a big ( and informative ) input into that thread , so hopefully he will pop into this thread also . The crux of the thread lay out the following possibilities as to why this may occur : 1) Hairs transplanted from the 'safe' donor zone may still be susceptible to DHT . In such an instance , the hair although not miniaturised at that point may miniaturise at some subsequent point . I hope I explained that clearly enough . 2) Hairs transplanted from the donor zone may change characteristics when transplanted - that is none DHT susceptible donor hair can transform into DHT susceptible hair and miniaturize/fall out once relocated . Read through the link to get a better understanding of it . Interesting to note also , that a compromised blood supply to the scalp wasn't mention in the linked thread .
  11. Yes - if you click on my posts you should come across it within a few pages - you'll know what one it is by the thread title .
  12. Hi Mikeey , It's a pity your friends were never given a half decent explanation . Of course it's possible that at this moment in time there is no definitive explanation as to why this may occur . We all know that a HT result is never guaranteed , but it would certainly be beneficial for all if it was at least brought out into the open . Does it occur in 1 in a 50 , 1 :100 , 1 : 1000 ? You'd also think that by now some research would have been undertaken into the phenomenon . At least that way , patients could be made more aware of the potential precursors that may lead to such a result , similar in ways to Dr's refusing prospective patients with poor donor characteristics . I can appreciate why Dr's shy away from the subject , especially in the public domain , as with all things related to the internet things can be blown way out of proportion . I can also understand your reticence in holding back from a procedure . Anyway , I hope this thread and similar others can at least lead to some positive research on the subject .
  13. I'm happy with my growth . Only had the hairline and mid scalp addressed , and as a NW6 , still have the crown area to be dealt with . I think my expectations were modest , but realistic , and to that end I'm good .
  14. Hi Baldydude - For the area addressed and the no. of grafts placed , the density should be good . Have you any idea in square centimetres the area covered ? Yes , I had surgery with Dr K 10 months ago now . The Dr is conservative with his hairlines . I would have perhaps liked to have the hairline lowered by a smidgeon , but can always look at this if / when I have further ops.
  15. Certainly looks to have improved from your 7 and 8 month photo's . Hope it continues .
  16. Sad to hear of anyone losing the battle against this horrible disease . R.I.P Alex .
  17. Only just saw this thread . As mentioned , largely depends on surgeons skill , your own physiology and post op regimen . HTsoon metioned about his friend hitting the gym 1 month post op . I was conerned about scar stretch so didn't do any weights for 4 months . Maybe OTT , but why chance it after all the financial and emotional energy invested . By the way , my scar is not visible when cut to a no.3 . If I'm feeling brave sometime might give a no.2 a go.
  18. Work looks neat . Good luck with the journey and try to keep out of the paranoia zone !
  19. Mikeey , I thing it was one of your posts that I came across on this subject .Have your friends ever been given any feedback from their surgeons ?
  20. Can any surgeons chime in on this subject ? The no. of patients I've come across who have had this problem is concerning , and it really is a topic that should be addressed . I can only speculate as to the reasons why it seems hushed up , but brushing it under the carpet wont make the problem disappear. One of the possible reasons I've seen mentioned relates to a reduction or cessation of blood supply to the scalp , for whatever reason , and would at least provide some form of logic to the possible reasons .
  21. Looks very good Hairsgone . Your hair is already improved on your pre op , so next couple of months will be interesting .
  22. What month post op are you ? I have fair ( ish ) hair . Up to the 3 month mark , the hairs were light , but darkened over the subsequent months .
