Progress looks good Athirss . It looks like you started off pretty much a NW6 , so for the grafts used and area covered it's a nice visual improvement. How many grafts have you had over the 3 surgeries ? Also , interested to know how short you can cut the sides and back without the scars being visible . I'm looking at a 2nd HT in the future , so although I know FUSS would probably be the best option , I'm concerned about possible scar stretch .

Nice write up KO. For the area addressed and number of grafts , this should turn out very nice indeed .

Always gutted to read about any patient getting a bad result . I checked the back story to this and see that the surgeon is indeed recommended on here . Any surgeon can have subpar results , but there are a few concerning points , namely the speed of the surgery and the lack of medical action when the condition was so quickly apparent . Where was the medication to try and alleviate and improve the situation ? All the more concerning when the surgeon is also a supposed dermatologist .

You'll be fine . Like you say , the hairs are well routed after 10 days. -

Hairsgone - I agree that I would have also had a cheaper procedure had the new pricing structure been in place ,. However , where I have a different take on this is on what constitutes a graft . Strictly speaking , a graft is a follicular unit normally comprising 1 to 4 hairs per unit . If a surgeon decides to play games ( to put it nicely ) and splits a follicular unit to create supposedly more units , then it's not an additional follicular unit - it's jus a split unit . I've read elsewhere about surgeons supposedly splitting grafts , and as far as I'm concerned it's a pure con job . The no. of follicular units ( grafts ) can't be changed just because someone cuts it up . Having said all that , maybe a cost per hair would be a fairer way to cost a HT procedure , but it goes against the status quo at the moment where no other surgeon is assessing on that basis , because they can't . It's only after the units are extracted that a cost could be determined . At this moment in time , where people need to know an approximate . but fairly accurate cost , a per graft cost works . Maybe this will change in time . That's my take on it anyway . Interested in others opinions, -
FUT - 18/12/15 - 4030 Grafts - NW6 - Dr Karadeniz - 18/12/15

Cheers mosd. Oh yes - From where I started from it's a huge improvement . When I do the full 12 month update , I'll post pre op photo's against the current .That will really illustrate the difference . I'll need at least 1 more HT to address the mid scalp and crown , But I can live with this for the time being . -

2124 grafts @ AEK with DR Karadeniz (28/10/16)

The competition in Turkey , especially Istanbul ,is intense . His price at 1.50 euros per graft , as it was , is far more expensive than the tech' mills charge . I'm guessing he's just trying to be more competitive in a fierce market . I thought the same as you about him setting up in the UK . Price wise , he'd blow the competition away , but he'd have to increase his prices also to run a similar set up . -

Not quite sure why he's done this , but I got charged 1.50 euros per graft . I had an average hair count of 2 hairs per graft , which I think is fairly average . The euro price per hair would actually turn out cheaper than the 1.50 euros I paid .. All depends on the donor density , lower than average density would end up being cheaper still , but higher density would be more , but on the face of it seems like a cheaper deal for most . -

Well I stand corrected then . I was thinking of having a 2nd procedure with him , so will ask him the question . He charged me by the graft last December. I agree , if he's charging by the hair it is bizarre . -

Hey Dolph , Congrats on the procedure . I'm presently considering a 2nd procedure and would be interested to know why you ended up going with Dr Saifi. I take it you went FUE ?

Work looks good with plenty of grafts for the area covered .

Hard to comment on no information !

FUE with Dr. Diep 1,300 grafts total (5,300)

Hey HT - Surprised I missed your latest update and just noticed it now. Congrats on your latest procedure . If previous yield are any measure , This'll turn out great . Any idea on the area covered in this procedure ( square inches or cm2 )? I've seen a few posts recently about measuring head areas so decided to do it myself . It's really quite easy . I had the wife place an A4 sheet of tracing paper over my head and she traced my previously transplanted area and the area still untouched .I then placed the tracing paper over a square centimetre grid and just drew the gridline though the areas . I then counted the full squares and approximated the part squares , After I did this , and as a check , I scanned the document to a PDF and used online measuring software to check the area . I was pretty please with myself as my own measures and the online software were within a square centimetre of each other . I've attached a PDF to show how it was laid out . Sorry for the ramble : Are you back into work yet ? It's funny , no matter how much you research this whole HT business , you can still make mistakes or wished you'd done things differently. Looking forward to your updates . -
You've got a couple of choices . Either pay for baggage to be checked in , or buy the same ( or similar ) products when you get back to the UK . I've heard a few patients saying the put the lotions in the hand luggage and got through the scanners without any questions . Depends how much they've tightened up on security following the events of the last year or so.

Looks very good MH . It's of particular interest for me as I'm presently considering a second pass to address the crown . As a matter of interest , any idea on the cm2 area covered ? -

I had a FUSS procedure and don't take Fin'.It was a medical reason in my case . Not sure what difference Fin' would have made anyway . I appreciate your reasons for not taking it also. -
Growth is pretty similar to mine at the same stage irishpaddyman. If you continue as I did , months 4 to 5 is where it really starts to improve . Good luck.
