Thanks Spex, I wasn't sure if the hairs should stop growing after transplant or continue to grow. I just figured that continuing to grow was probably a good sign. I have been showering twice a day since the transplant. If after the shedding I get back most of what is currently growing, I'll be very happy. Dr. Path expects a good result and have lots of donor hairs available for future work. These forums are really a valuable resource, thank you guys so much for keeping this community going. If I get a second HT in the future I would definitely come here for advice. Though for the first HT I am so far very happy with Dr. Path.

Hi all. I'm 15 days post-HT. No noticeable shedding as of yet, only shock loss. To my eyes the transplanted hair appears to be growing. It is definitely longer than it was the day of the surgery. Does this normally occur before shedding? I have attached a couple of photos. The first photo is from a few days after the transplant, and the second photo is from today at day 15. There was some but not much pre-existing hair in this area, it's mostly new transplanted hairs. I will miss these hairs when they fall out. I hope they all come back :-)

Yeah you're right, it's very similar to the colorado case. But what really confuses me is that this guy puts his surgery results on YouTube. One after another. A litany of butchery. There are plenty of other videos on YouTube showing proper hair transplant surgery results. They are easy videos to find. So why make yourself look bad on purpose? He must be pretty stupid. Note that the comments on all his videos are disabled, surely some people have pointed out before that what he is doing is so wrong. I feel for his poor patients who probably don't know any better.

As someone who got a HT 2 weeks ago I would be interested if someone like yourself walked up to me and said he had one done too, and let me look at what is hopefully a good result.

10 days for me, but 'light' exercise. i.e. running/jogging ok, anything that might cause you to really stretch your donor area like weights or yoga is not good for maybe 6 weeks or more.

Hi finkfad, Thanks for posting your pics. Please keep us updated on your progress. I think it speaks highly of Dr. Path to insist on not harvesting too much. He could easily make more money out of you by harvesting the maximum amount right now, but is thinking of your wellbeing and future needs. I had an operation with Dr. Path about 12 days ago, and had about the same amount of grafts over a smaller area. Quite a similar hairline design to yours actually I think he favours the widow's peak. I like the picture of your donor area scar. I can't see mine easily as my donor area is pretty thick. I hope mine is nice and subtle like yours.

Listen, Sam. You're being too hard on yourself. You can't do this to yourself buddy. You made a perfectly reasonable decision which has pros and cons. And you're focusing on the cons. Look, here's your worst-case scenario: The hair transplant looks like crap, and you can't stand your hair. There are still good options. There always are. There are wigs you can get which blend in with your existing hair and you can slowly add more of your own hair to them. To the outside eye people won't really notice anything. Even on close inspection they look totally natural. Wigs these days are very good. You can do anything with them, exercise, sweat, pull on them and they won't come off. Personally, this is my back-up plan. I recently had a HT and if I go to norwood 7 I will do this. The reason I do HT because I want to see if it works. However, I take propecia and that is keeping my hairline in place. If you try the big 3, finasteride, minoxidil and ketoconazole, there is a good chance you can keep what you have and prevent going to norwood 7. Don't forget the gym and exercise these will help with your feelings. At 9 months post-op of course you can sweat. What do you mean it doesn't feel normal? Do you have any photos you'd like to share?

It was nice to meet you in person too JobSmith. We had a fun night out on the town! Took me a couple days to recover. Have a safe flight home! Good to know about the stitches. It must be a relief to get the permanent ones out. I see Dr. Path tomorrow to get mine out. They have been itching like crazy and the corners of the scar still kind of hurt when touched, which is hard to avoid when lying on a pillow. As long as the wait will be, it's nice to think of waiting for hair to grow... rather than trying to keep it from falling out. Hope we both get good results. If there are any important updates, I'll post them here.

Hi JobSmith, Yes I hope that the widow's peak doesn't end up as sharp as it looks in the transplant day 1. Like yourself, for me it was important to fill in the hair loss at the temples. In fact, Dr. Pat went far behind the hairline to add density in the back as well so it looks good when parted. Do your stitches still hurt/itch/feel tight? I can't wait to get them out on day 10. There's a lot to do in Bangkok. I think air conditioned malls are good if you have cabin fever, as you want to avoid sweating. I've been cooped up inside rather bored for the last 6 days as well. The skytrain is an excellent way to get around. They opened up a brand new mall recently called Emquartier near the Phrom Phong station, it's really neat and worth checking out. Most of these malls have really luxurious movie theatres too, for the price of a movie ticket in your home country, you could get what feels like a first class airline seat. Oh yeah, and get a massage. :-) And if you do end up near Soi Cowboy you can always go see a ping pong show. Ha. hahahaha.

Hi JobSmith. Wow what a small world! I had a surgery with Dr. Path on the same day. I guess he goes between patients. I had 2500 grafts FUT. Be careful with the ATP solution. I left it out for 4 hours at room temperature by accident and had to buy another bottle for 450 thb. I took my headband off today, as like yourself the swelling is minor. Any scabbing yet? Edit: Interesting how you talk of a widow's peak. I let Dr. Path give me a peak... to be honest I wasn't really thinking about the hairline too much and just trusted his opinion. He says it gives the illusion of a lower hair line. Though at this point I'm a little afraid of it as it looks a bit triangular post-op, but Dr. Path says not to worry it will look more natural in time. I apparently have the features for it. I hope he is right! Edit 2: I've uploaded three photos of my procedure for comparison, one before surgery, one immediately after surgery, and one from today (4 days after surgery). Note that they are taken from different angles. My hair is unusually long as I intend to comb it forward... I have to give public talks and don't want people to be drawn to the procedure.
