  1. They say that, but I think a lot of doctors aren't particularly good with crown work, perhaps even most of them, because the only doctor that regularly gets great results with his crown results is Lorenzo....I literally can't think of another doc that comes closes to his crown work and if so, I would love to see one.
  2. You can have a healthy diet and lifestyle, not smoke or drink too much, work out etc, BUT, despite all of the above, thinning hair IMO makes you look unhealthy, which had always been my biggest beef with hair loss.
  3. Are there any surgeons out there who produce excellent results but for one reason or another aren't praised or discussed as much on this site as the likes of Lorenzo, Konier, Rahal, H&W, Erdogan, Bisanga etc? Are there any hidden gems out there who are flying under the radar?

  5. Dude if you look hard enough there will be results for every coalition doctor here that you don't consider that impressive, even Dr Lorenzo probably (which is saying a lot). As others have said no doctor has a 100% satisfaction record if you look for the negatives in results, then you will find them with every doctor here. So when you talk about covering your bases, I think you need to acknowledge to yourself that you cannot be 100% confident that the surgery will turn out the way you want it to, irrespective of what doctor you go with. But you can be satisfied that if you go with someone like one of the highly regarded doctors here such as Rahal, Konier, Bisanga, Erdogan, Feriduni, Lorenzo etc that you are giving yourself the best possible chance of getting the result you require.
  6. London I am having between 3000 and 3500 all to the front. My vertex is not too bad and I am hoping I can maintain the same with Propecia. Counting down the days! Look forward to seeing your results in the next few weeks :-)
  7. Fantastic result for a NW4, probably one of the best I have seen recently and with a modest amount of grafts. Dr Reddy is fast establishing himself as the best transplant surgeon in the UK.
  8. Happy healing. On a side note, I have never understood why some patients have been reluctant to share their doctor's identity. I agree you don't need their consent to disclose their name. Confidentiality protects the patient not the doctor.
  9. Are professional sportsman allowed to take propecia?
  10. It's hard to get excited about this result as the hair from the photos still looks very sparse from the front. However, if that is the best that could be done with the patient's donor supply and he is happy with the result, that is all that matters.
  11. Unless you are specifically addressing the OP, I don't agree with a blanket statement that you can't go down the HT route without being on Finasteride. I am sure there are a lot more variables to whether you make a good candidate for hair surgery, such as age, degree and stability of loss etc. Also you cannot project your personal experiences with Finasteride onto a complete stranger (the OP) and assume his experiences with the drug should be as mild as your own experience. I am on Finasteride myself, but don't assume my experience with it and the degree of potential side effects will all be the same as everyone else's. Having said all that, I do agree it is not wise for the OP to consider surgery at the moment until his hair loss has stabilised. There are alternatives to Finasteride (such as RU) which the OP could explore, but I would wait at least another 2 years before reevaluating whether surgery is right for him.
  12. Your front looks fine to me, have you considered alternatives to finasteride such as saw palmetto or keratene retard (these, however, may also mess with your hormones) or a topical antiandrogen such as 5% spiro or RU8841? You could, of course, try Finasteride for a few weeks initially and see how you react to the drug, only a small percentage of users experience side effects and those side effects are reversible if you stop the drug. Finasteride is also very effective at arresting hair loss in the back of the head and even regrowing hair. So, there may be a way out for you but you will have to be prepared to give the meds a shot and commit to for at least 12 months.
  13. Dude everyone who knows you will notice. There is no getting away from it, you are going to look completely different, unless you usually shave your hair to a #1, even then people would probably still notice as the scalp tends to stay red for quite a few weeks after the op (from what I have observed). The best thing is to resign yourself to the fact people will notice and people being people, some will talk about it. However in a few days everyone would have got used to your appearance and would have forgotten about it. The best thing (easier said than done) is to not act like you give a shit and ultimately don't worry what people think about you.
  14. Hi NYC are you able to post pictures of the transplanted hairs you are referring to?
  15. the work looks great. Have you returned to work yet and if so what has been your colleagues' reactions? P.s are you taking fin post HT?
  16. amazing transformation so far, BHR really are a superb clinic
  17. Great result! How is the crown looking? It is always slower to respond to growth than the front.
  18. I think Hakan's results are fairly comparable with Koray's and judging by your pictures, I would say you made a good decision in your choice of doc.
  19. I have just posted as you as well! Have informed the mods. I have also been Johnnyboy as well on occasions
