  1. RIght on track....Dr Demirsoy doesn't get the same praise as Doganay and Erdogan, but I have never seen a bad result from him and his prices are excellent.
  2. If you cannot find any info on him, I would recommend going with a more established doctor recommended on here such as Erdogan or Doganay (both Turkish).
  3. There are pretty much only really six countries worth going to for a HT: 1. USA 2. Canada 3. UK 4. Belgium 5. Turkey 6. India If you are opting for a FUE procedure, look no further than Belgium and Turkey.
  4. Bloody hell, if anyone is reading this and is over 40, you may as well give up - society deems your appearance no longer important.
  5. looking very nice .... have you had any comments from family/friends/colleagues yet?
  6. This doctor is recommended by HRN - beggars belief
  7. Unless Lorenzo, Feriduni or Bisanga have cancellations this year, it may be difficult to get booked in for a procedure until next year, I know Feriduni is booked up until Feb 2015 at least. Also bear in mind Lorenzo is leaving Manchester in the Autumn so it's worth finding out whether he has any space left, he is an extremely busy man! Have you contacted Dr Doganay for an estimate?
  8. Its far from an exact science on who is the best, but on the results i have personally seen, I would agree Lorenzo is the best Fue surgeon in the world. His overall coverage and crown work is spectacular and he is expensive, but he practically does all the work himself, whereas Feriduni and Erdogan only do the incisions themselves. If I had the money, I would go for Lorenzo. Erdogan's results are very impressive, and for me he represents the best bang for your buck as far as manual FUE is concerned. Bisanga does the extractions and incisions himself and is slightly cheaper than Feriduni and his results are just as impressive. Doganay is good, but motorised extraction put me off (he does manual fue but there are no documented results) and he does not yet have the same volume of impressive results as the doctors mentioned above. In order of preference therefore I have Lorenzo top, Bisanga, Feriduni and Erdogan tied for second (I cant seperate them) and Doganay third.
  9. As I am having a procedure with Dr Feriduni later on this year, I will contact his office and ask them whether they would be prepared to disclose that information and will update this thread if I hear anything.
  10. The crown can respond really well to minoxidil, presumably however this is something you have considered and decided against?
  11. Good luck Duck. His work looks outstanding and the facilities look state of the art too. It's reassuring that his lead tech is working on you and has been with Dr Erdogan for 10 plus years, well done for finding that out. My message to anyone reading this is to please find out more about the techs who are going to be operating on you, not just the doctor, and to discuss their role and your experience of them in your HT review. Little bios on the techs will be extremely useful to the HT community going forward.
  12. This is one of the most important questions that I have seen asked before. Little is known about the techs working on you who, in the majority of cases, are a lot more hands on than the doctors. Surely a lot of results must come down to the techs, but we don't know anything about them? Dr Maral, for instance, does not actually do any work himself does he? It's 100% done by the techs. In fact, as previously stated, Dr Lorenzo is the only doc who does all of the extraction, ncisions and implants himself for FUE. He is expensive, but when you think he is doing all the work himself and is one of the best, he actually works out being a good deal. It would be great if someone could put together a table of all the doctors recommended on here and what they actually do, i,e, extraction, incisions and what their techs do. I agree we need a lot more transparency in this regard - I would be especially interested to hear about what Dr Feriduni does and who his techs are, the work they do and their level of experience.
  13. Yeah, this is the first time I have heard a patient having a negative experience with Dr F...I have FUE with him in December and will be pretty pissed if he cancels seeing as I am flying from Australia!
  14. Thanks for sharing - great choice of doc! What is your plan for your next procedure?
  15. I don't know, if he got on Fin and managed to stabilise his loss for a couple of years, with a good doctor 2500-3000 FUE at the front could still make a nice cosmetic difference. Judging by your pre-op photos you yourself were pretty far gone by the time you had your op, and have managed to get good coverage (albeit with a lot of grafts), so I wouldn't direct the OP towards a hair piece just yet!
  16. It depends how stable your hair loss is. If you have been losing your hair very slowly for the last few years and consider you will maintain most of your native hair or at least lose it very slowly over the course of years, then it may be acceptable to have a HT without augmenting it with meds. For most of us though, fin is a great adjunct to a transplant, because it helps maintain your native hair which will give you a better overall result in the future as your transplanted hair with blend with your native hair and by maintaining your hair, reduce the need for further transplants down the road. There is also anecdotal evidence that meds can help prevent shockloss. If you are reluctant to take fin, then using something like Nizoral, topical Spiro and taking a 320mg Saw Palmetto capsule a day (standardised to 85-95% fatty acids) is better than nothing,
